Can A $300 IV Drip Therapy Cure A Common Cold?

- IV Drip hydration is commonly used and well known for curing hangovers. If it can help a hangover, can it help a common cold? I put it to the test as I desperately wanted my sickness to go away.
THIS VIDEO IS NOT SPONSORED. I paid for the IV drip with my own money, all opinions are my own.
this the company I used: driphydration.com/
MY FINAL THOUGHTS -
It definitely DID help my cold. I instantly felt the effects of the IV hydration as my nose cleared up and my sneezing/itchy throat went away. The effects lasted through out the rest of the day and onto the next, and I was completely over the cold within the next 24 hours. This could be a good option for you if your feeling under the weather and need to travel/work on things without being slowed down. Would you spend the $300 on this?

Comes to LA for a week, pays $300 for an IV
I'm not mad at Monica or anybody who gets this, but I'm mad at like...society for the fact that there are people literally dying because they don't have access to medical treatment, but rich people can get a nurse to come to their door and give them an IV every time they have a hangover.
And I get you wanna feel better everyone does when they're sick.. but I can't imagine blowing $300 just to feel better a few days earlier? Maybe it's because I don't have that extra $300. And maybe if I was sick for a month or monthsss it would be worth it but the fact that some people can't handle having a cold for a couple days is just?????? Crazy
i had the flu recently and would totally have paid $300 for some fluids
Yes! I would pay $300 for it. I had the flu and bronchitis during the holidays, and I'm still having a lot of congestion. I'm trying to find somewhere here in Colorado Springs that does Drip Therapy. I'd never heard of it before, but it sounds fantastic. Thanks for sharing this with us.
What an extra way to cure a cold. $300?
Brb injecting Powerade for $0.79
***Disclaimer: **_This is a joke_*
Have you heard that injecting tide togo clears your cold symptoms in .02 seconds?
At least it's... healthier? haha
I never knew this! lol
Powerade and Gatorade are good for hangovers so I mean... better than $300 to get rid of a hang over lmao
100% agreed on that!
Only the vein people in LA would think of such a thing.
Hah "vein" -- did you mean to make this pun or did you mean vain?
Seems like he's bleeding puns
Is this a pun?
The magic of placebo!
Exactly my thoughts!!
Britt Verslegers how could it be a placebo if she didn't think it was going to work in the first place? And it genuinely got rid of all her sinus congestion? You don't just get rid of sinus congestion from a placebo, lol
Don't get me wrong, placebo does work! It is a process of the body healing itself when it feels it is 'safe'. It is even true that the more expensive the medication or treatment, the bigger the placebo effect. Saline is used as a placebo in all kinds of research. This is just a great example of how big of an effect it can have, I am amazed by it, really cool :).
Also, if something is a placebo but you think you feel better then you are better. It's a really cool thing to show the way that the mind and the body works together. I mean, if you do a placebo and it works then why not? I mean..
I miss “song of The day”
Reminds me of a buzzfeed video, but more real
I didn't realize they actually come to your house and do it! I thought you would go to a center of some sorts to get it done. Interesting.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCHHH LOVE HOW YOU PUT LIKE A WHOLE LOT OF EFFORT EVEN TO YOUR VLOGS, SOME PEOPLE DONT EVEN EDIT THEM❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
your videos are seriously my favorite, they're always so well edited!
And this is why I love your channel! I would never pay for this but I was always curious if it worked!
I saw that someone I'm subscribed to posted a video and I was so excited when I saw it was you! Glad you're feeling better Monica 👍
It's funny, she puts those dramatic and beautiful transitions with the music, assuming it means she is going to a new place...but nah she comes back to us in the same room lol.
I love the Dawes song you used in the intro! Made me kinda emotional because I have so many good memories associated with it. Your music is always on point. ❤
Seriously that worked really fast, when you had the IV, you sounded better already 😱
aw thats so sweet, he saw all of your vlogs!
I am so happy it worked to help you feel better. Thanks for sharing this with us. Monica you are such a kind hearted soul. I love your vlogs. Hugs You have such a cool personality and your style. Hugs
I probably wouldn’t do that due to my intense fear of needles, but I’m glad that it worked for you!! I got something similar when I had a really bad stomach flu & I was dehydrated, and getting IV helped a ton (it was at the ER but it was good haha) Love you & your vids a lot :)
i love this vlog! glad ur feeling better❤️😘
I love you so much , Monica! Keep up the wonderful work with everything as always, and of course, stay smiling. Ps, I am so happy that you have been uploading so frequently lately!🤗💕
My best friend works at a health clinic that specializes in IV's, weight loss and hormone regulations. Totally works and is a miracle.
Yes! I would totally do this! Love that you gave it a try.
Also, this is only like $150 in denver
love your vlogs so so so much!!!
You and Justin make amazing vlogs. Cool to see you both in each others video.
I've never heard of IV treatment for a cold but it's cool that it seemed to work!
But like does the nurse stay there while it’s infusing? Because I’m way too awkward to sit and chat..
wow what a great option. it would have been nice to have this when I was sick basically all of last semester
this is really cool, in the future i can imagine this being accessible at regular doctor's offices or even at the pharmacy without prescription (since there is a needle involved, it would probably still require a qualified person to do it)
thanks for sharing :)
Hi monica! I have been dealing with chronic fatigue for some time after having mono and get ivs often to keep my levels up (all the vitamin Bs and more) and it does help me! Glad to see this becoming more of a thing since it is alot more of a thing in Colorado :)
And you talked about cocktails and the vitamin bag is normally called a Meyers Cocktail LoL
that was actually so cool! I remember seeing kylie jenner or someone having iv
Omg i love Dawes!!! Great choice of music
💛💛💛
i have always wondered if those iv drip things work...
You got a banana bag😁 I watch another CZcamsr who does this regularly but for other reasons. Love your videos and your positivity🖒💪😊
i would pay this much for a cold but i would for a stomach bug. stomach bugs are the literal worst so getting hydrated and that prescription anti nausea medicine seems amazing
hahaha I would have the same reaction if I was in the vlog!
I think this was so cool! But I could definitely see someone like a bride or groom getting it done if they're sick right before the wedding lol
I had food poisoning a year ago and had a iv drip because I was so dehydrated and I really felt like a million bucks afterwards. My insurance paid for most of it so I know firsthand this really does work.
Your hair grows quickly compared to mine.
So happy you are feeling better
So early, I don’t think this it’s going to happen again but what a coincidence to me opening yt rn anyways I’m gonna see the video now 😂
So early! Hi Monica :D
You should try Zicam nasal swabs when you first get sick/get the first symptom it totally prevents your cold or makes it go away sooo much faster!!
Wow sick me rn really wants to splurge...too bad they probs don't have this in Oregon :/
Kiara Madisen it wouldn’t hurt to look
Also just FYI there are places that do it for less than $300! I was visiting LA recently and got really sick so I decided to try it and I think I paid around $170. Still an obscene amount to spend regularly of course, but as a last resort type of thing when you're feeling horrible and need to feel better quickly, it can be REALLY helpful.
It’s 70 bucks here in GA. 🤷🏾♀️ that’s crazy how expensive Cali is but yes I’m a flight attendant I travel a lot and I need to get better quick. Doing it today.
GIRL I FEEL U. I prefer email over phone call too haha
I have to get IV meds for my immune system every other week and they give Benadryl through the IV as a pre-med so I don't have an allergic reaction. The SECOND the put the benadryl in that line my nasal passages open up even if I wasn't sick and I fall straight to sleep and wake up feeling like a brand new person.
I’m here from rylands video
Happy to see that you are feeling better....even if it did cost $300! Lol
About 6 months ago I had to have a craniotomy, and the incision got infected while I was in the hospital. I had to get a picc line and had IV antibiotics Avery 8 hours for 6 weeks. The one medicine had to be cold and I would feel chilled all through my arm and chest, and all of the fluids were making me very dizzy. I just would not want to be reminded by that at all, but it’s super interesting!
LMAO this city has everything, but also a lot of the crazy shit we do ends up nation wide later. We also started to have chryotherapy stores pop up like two years ago so hydrotherapy is hardly shocking. I also know some crazy people who love that stuff and get Botox even though they're like 20.
honestly shocked that this video isn't sponsored
Too expensive for me but I bet it does work.
Honestly for this being a service in LA I would’ve thought it would’ve been wayyy more expensive. Don’t get me wrong $300 is still a lot lol that’s a plane ride to somewhere amazing
We have a few of these in Vegas which makes sense Lol
When I was in my early 20s, I used to go to urgent care when I was rly hungover in order to get a doctors note, and looking back on it- all they did was give me an IV lol.Hydration therapy before it was cool 😎
If it's something you feel like splurging on the next time you're in Seattle, Naturomedica in Issaquah, WA does a variety of IV therapy services. I don't remember the pricing exactly, but I think it was a little less than $300. People swear by them.
They're tiny needles! shouldn't hurt at all. Hydration when sick is the most important thing. B12 will give you energy. Coldness during an infusion is normal.
I'm so early this time
I’d totally do it. Expensive, yes, but if it works, why not? Better than spending a week being snotty and sluggish.
Cool
Does the nurse stay there at your place the whole time during the process?
I always wanted to know do these I.V. Drips really work?
Paris Hilton Snapchat brought me here when I saw she was putting this on
That’s so interesting haha
Anyone here from Ryland Adams?
Yes
You must watch Beme News' video on IV Treatment
Have you tried a netipot?
WoW Monica it looks very weird, I know that Victoria secret models like Romee do it to before a big show!
I have a cold atm and I REALLY need that (sad thing I'm broke for that thing lmao)
DAWES!
You got a banana bag and a big dose of placebo :). Glad you feel better!
The IV immune boost is cool. I think it seems like a great option if you are really sick. Have you ever tasted eye drops? If not I hope you never do it is the worst.
People love calling Placebo, but If she physically feels better, I honestly doubt it.
I didn't have the flu knock on wood but did have a horrible cold that still won't go away. I have had it since November thanksgiving week. Yet, today's Feb 1st 2018 and I still have the cold. I got anti-biotics but didn't work. I do take my daily vitamins for men. I wounder if I just loaded up on vitamin B's and C it would have the same effect as this IV. Add in some gateraid and I should be fine I guess? I just have a flem cough.
Born in raise in LA, never heard of this.. locos are to busy working two jobs sick or not.. this is more for tourist or hipsters scene and that’s why everything is more expensive in the last two years..
Pretty sure thats considered doping if ur an athlete being that it will enhance your performance regardless if your sick or not
If only you had done it before the big climb when you got sick and couldn’t run the stairs the day of and had to miss out
No
Love your videos! Just started a youtube channel myself (-:
I came here because of Justin 😂😂
OMG where is that palm sports bra from?
I’ll never understand how youtubers make so much money especially when the market is so saturated
This video made me realize my fear of IVs
Haha! This is literally the exact same thing we give people who are detoxing in the hospital. It's called a banana bag.
I’ve never been early wtf
Maybe a placebo?
In a hospital it's called a banana bag because of the color
what is this witchcraft
Where's your purple hair? Hope you feel better!
Are Monica and Shelby identical twins? They look a lot alike but i'd never confuse them idk
Florentia Mavroudi yah they are
what's up daily docs
So many people are saying they'd pay $300 for it.. like damn I'm obviously the only broke school girl here lmao, I just sleep when I'm sick then I'm fine in a couple of days
I hate the feeling of a needle underneath my skin...
I had a cold the other day
SPOILER ALERT: 10 minutes and 41 seconds of Monica saying "I feel so much better! My nose stopped running!"
Skinny Nim Teeth!!!
It's called..placebo effect..
Placebo effect doesn't make my nose stop running haha. I think the placebo effect would definitely be a factor in terms of feeling more energetic
