It’s just lack of financial literacy many Africans don’t know.i bought a hoisin Ghana year 2000 and bought my primary residence in USA around the same time ,today my US house worth almost a million and the one in Ghana I will be lucky if I get 150 k for it .i will never invest somewhere that I don’t see easily.nurses makes money but if you don’t invest that income after taxes it’s nothing

I believe selling off your house when moving to Ghana is a bad idea because let’s say you bought the house for 180k as you said and when selling you sell for 250k that’s 70k gain , you have to pay tax on that gain on your property, since you own a 100% equity on your house I have a strategy that you can use to pull out more than 50% of that money and you will still keep the house , the difference is you rent out the house and still get small returns on it even though you have pulled out your money and that money you pulled out is 100% tax free
