I'm a Tynemouth local and we tend to avoid the Priory, that and the Sal are the pubs that are mostly only frequented by rowdy lads looking for a fight. Sunday dinnerwise The Cumberland is probably the best in Tynemouth or alternative The Low Lights if you fancy a walk down the quay!
I remember going to that station 63 years ago with my mother. There was a chocolate machine on the Tynemouth side which was magnetic for kids. The coffee shop at the station is great too. Isn't that bridge amazing. Later The Percy, now The Priory was always a nice pub. Gone upmarket since the 1970s though. Now I'm sitting here more than 10,000 miles away at home with some of the amazing treasures we found at those markets.
Thanks for dropping by my Photography Stall today and featuring some of my work. Sorry I wasn’t there to see you as I was at Newcastle Christmas Market. I hope you enjoyed your time at Tynemouth Market, it really has an abundance of very talented local people. Hopefully we’ll see you again in the future.
Cheers, Eddy. Great to see the market, I always make a point of visiting when I'm over. I always find some great records, and last year I bought a miniature Angel Of The North, confusing people walking past my garden in Bavaria.
You've done it again Eddie, brought my old stomping ground to life, the market is a gem like you, always a fascinating way to spend a few hours any time of the year and a stones throw from a belting village in Tynemouth, pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafe's galore and the church at the west end of front street is also something to see. Many thanks from a homesick geordie.
As a Whitley lad I have been to Tynemouth many times. Its a lovely village with great bars and restuarants and a wonderful fish and chippy in Marshalls. Great video Eddy
hey eddie, great review as always, tynemouth is a bit of a haunt for the wife and me on sundays for the flea market, so good to see you checking it out. if we eat at tynemouth, the sunday dinner at divanti's beside the metro station is to die for!! im not a big fan of sunday dinner, but wow, the grub here is really top notch
I left Tyneside 7 years ago to move down under and the only time I miss home is the weekends. Love Tynemouth markets. Such a great day out! Cheers Eddie.
My wife bought a Buddha there on her first visit to the UK. The same night we watched a German film and the main character bought the exact same Buddha at a market in the movie. The Fat Bald Gadgie works in mysterious ways.
Great video Eddy, can't beat traditional British grub miles better than a greasy takeaway such as a kebab lol wonder where you will go next on your Sunday dinner journey 👀 keep up the excellent content 👊
I prefer thicker gravy too if it's minced beef n veg n dumplings. If I'm pouring it on something, I don't mind runnier but not weak like water. Great vlog as always, Thank you 😃👍 P.S Nice framed photos n drawings in Tynemouth market and the beach comber making things from driftwood etc 👍
Great video Eddy, never been to Tyneside Market before but I know that the lad at 2:38 owns his own shop called Stadium Collectables in North Shields and is supposed to be really decent in terms of stock and prices so worth a visit especially if you are in to your football memorabilia.
Great video Eddie! Tynemouth Market is a fantastic place, you can easily spend a whole day there - something for everyone. Have you ever reviewed The Lakeside Inn, Wardley? I know you live quite near so you've probably been a million times but the food is fantastic!
What time were you at the market, bummed that I didn't bump into you. My lady and myself live a couple of minutes away from the priory pub, but we've never tried it. We went down to low lights tavern today for our Sunday dinner, bloody lovely, go down and try it.
How things have changed. Back in the 70s you wouldn't be seen dead in the Lowlights pub, more likely you'd be dead out behind it in the river. Now it is just a regular pub.
Unbelievable Eddie. I was there the week before and spoke to Tom about your video and his status. The market is great though. There's a bit of a story about the history of that market as it's within 6 and 2/3 miles from South Shields Market. South Tyneside is a marketing authority and permits that market for a fee. They have stopped other markets in the past though, one in Sunderland for example. The Red Lion in Boldon does a great Sunday lunch.
Tynemouth is where I live and I love the place Eddy. The Priory's good but the Turks Head(Stuffed Dog) is the best bar in the village. Thanks for the vid

That apple crumble looks a bit shan. The Wheatsheaf near the airport is the best dinner I've ever had.
On the morra neet?
@@Dave-ug9bhTuesday. Get yourself some crumble tonight.
Should have gotten the mixed meat Gyros from the Greek stall in the market. Amazing!!

The bigger sambuca on the fish quay, think it’s called cassia sambuca, they do a lovely Sunday dinner
Now now Eddie - I'm from Sunderland - though I live in Newcastle which you probably think says it all !!

Interesting stuff thank you 👍🏻
Jeffrey young south Tyneside council should have no say on the north shields market .End of story.
Yes the tynemouth market is far superior and bigger than the south Tyneside one which is on its last legs
Love the fair review Eddie, things need to be reviewed on cost, is what it is for the price.
Hinnies is lovely in Whitley bay mate.

A little further afield Eddie but one of the best places for Sunday dinner is the black horse in Beamish
