Happy Landings! Fly outside the box. 📦✈ - Zábava
I had a student who wanted to fly jets. He had no experience flying fast or using flaps. The Habu was perfect for him. No flaps and it slows down nicely. On final you can cut power and glide in.
It's a great beginner jet! 👍
@@TailHeavyProductions there is a thing that happens with hstabs when they are above the main wing line. probably why its hard to get hight alpha.
@TailHeavyProductions how much experience should I have before flying this plane and is this the 50mm or the 70mm
I just inherited a habu 70mm from my late grandfather, whose true passion was rc planes, and im currently angrily trying to put this thing together, and spending hours... and i mean HOURS on realflight with it to continue my papa's passion.
This is my favorite RC channel for sure. That congratulations video was so unexpected I'm still baffled by it and I watched the video 5 min ago hahahahha congrats gentleman, nice one
00:20 The dog made my day.
Having flown a few Habus, I agree it’s the best manufactured first jet. But as a big FliteTest supporter, I absolutely love the Master Series F/A 18 Super Hornet. It breaks all the rules of EDF’s. Longer than average flight times, huge speed envelope, and no bad habits. Would love to see you guys do a build/flight review on one. You won’t regret it.
I’d love to do more FT jets, but I’m definitely not the best builder, especially for master series designs.
@@aerospacematt9147 I thought the same thing, now I only have FliteTest airplanes. Just jump in and you’ll figure it out quick.
I swear you guys don't do reviews or videos like any RC people out here today I saw you guys when you first started and thought oh well another RC channel no biggie until I started actually sitting down and watching your videos I appreciate the amount of time you guys take research and share the proper information to people it's would be great to have more channels like you around, keep up the great work, definitely gained a new subscribers, you guys are different 👍 being in this hobbie 7 years you guys are going down the right path, your videos stand out 👍👍👍
Thank you!
Another awesome very entertaining video boys! I’m not sure why sarcasm is considered negative. If you read between the lines it’s an extremely positive review of a jet that has been out for a while. If sale go up they have you guys to thank! I just think it is hilarious that the Eflite RV7 is constantly advertised on your channel. Maybe Horizon is f-ing with you guys! Keep up the great content! 👍🏻👍🏻
the glue comment, we all have fond memories of that hobby shop smell. Ive lost all my local ones and i miss that smell now..
I had a guy that launched these underhand and it launches great with that method
This plane was, and still is my favourite jet, the most fun you can have with a jet. I owned two of them and just wore them out. Then I found a third one and finally couldn't find any more. Absolute blast and very docile. A big hit for Horizon, and for me.
I have the habu ss 70mm jet and it acts like the baby habu a lot! Super great review and probably considering buying one of these lol.👍👍👍👍👍
"wow next generation technology" 😂 the humor you put into these videos makes it enjoyable and informative to keep it up dude!
I love these kinds of foamys! Great Video.
you guys do the best rc content right now :D its so much fun to watch !! :D
Congrats on 25k guys! It's been great to see your channel grow ever since I first subscribed when you were at just around 3k subs! Mark my word I will congratulate you guys when you get to 50 and 100k.
I have a UMX Habu which was my first edf, and the AS3X stabilization alone makes it a breeze to fly. The horizontal/vertical stabilizers are pretty thin but it’s very easy to glue back together.
I've been waiting all week, AND MORNING for this.
Quality content! The spicy memes it even better.
The Habu 50mm was my first jet now over 50 flights on it not one issue been a great first time edf jet now I moved up to the Habu ss70mm great jet too after the 15th flight had a aileron servo strip but still flying after replacement great review thanks😃👍👍
Best thing to do with this jet? Fly it as high as possible and throw it in safe and throttle off. It will stay up like a glider for 10-15 minutes cruising around in the updrafts
Great video guys ! Loved it !
That little dogtooth on the wings really does a lot for these smaller jets. I have a Freewing F-8 and it has the same very gentle stall characteristics, even when loaded well above its optimal flight weight.
I’ve been flying for 40 years and this is my first EDF. My eyes and reflexes aren’t what they once were. It’s a lot of fun and it’s easy to fly, having a blast.
I love my 4s jet like this. It has been great to learn on. Takes a beating to boot.
I had learned to fly on the Habu Sts! My first flight went bad…. I didn’t give up! I love it! I’m on the Habu SS on 6 s now!
my first Jet, i love it!
I just commented last night to Adam Model AV8R that this plane doesnt get enough attention. I've had one since release and its a real hoot. You didnt mention that it has Reverse capability, but its so weak at 100% throttle you can actually use it in flight for STOL landings and the plane remains stable. Very fun to play with, and deserves a video.
It's definitely under-rated! We didn't bother mentioning the reverse for that exact reason - it produced *grams* of thrust in reverse, if that. Very inefficient. 😁 Plus, learning how to land a jet without worrying about reverse is a great learning tool for energy management for things such as spot landings. 👍
@@TailHeavyProductions Its just a fun and rather unusual feature of the plane. I have the patented 'Brian Phillips Pilot Fatigue Mix" set up on all my Avian planes, but this one is the only one its so laughingly ineffective on.
I’m on my second one. I will always have one as long as they’re available. I removed the gear and hand launch it without SAFE. It’s so stable. You can come out of a high speed dive rip on the elevator up into a flat no power glide into the wind with no stall and just float there. This thing is a laugh a minute with the crazy stuff it can do
I’m a beginner and I’ve been trained with a eagle and a nexstar which end is up in a tree. I got a consendo evolution and a habu70 mm ss. It has built my confidence. For someone who has flown for about 6 months I recommend that jet
I’m on my second baby Habu. I only fly it on 1300, and it is amazing. I always bring this along to warm up on with other edf’s.
how long do you get with the 1300
@@Echozero4 the throttle timer they say is wrong imo. With 2200 mahs i can get up to 8 Minutes no hassle. Just dont wot it all day
Absolutely great video.
i've wanted a habu since I got into the hobby over a decade ago
Actually so funny. Really love this channel
Nice, I was worried about being able to fly it at my new club field since the runway is grass. I wasn't even going to try, but now I may. If not, I'll practice my hand launching skills. Love this little edf, though. Thanks again!
I love my mini Habu. I fly it every time I go to the club. I also fly my propped down rv7 and love it. Haha.
Beautiful slow rolls!
I'm a fairly decent jet pilot, but I got a Habu 50 anyway after seeing someone with one at the field. It's just a stupid fun lil guy. I actually converted mine to 4s with a bigger ESC (stock motor is fine). Even more stupid fun. If you're considering one of these jets I'd definitely recommend it, regardless of your jet experience.
It REALLY likes to bounce on landings on hard surfaces. You can do the smoothest landing ever and hit a tiny bump on the ground and it'll start kangaroo'ing. I found that "stalling" into the landing helps a lot. Really get it as slow as you possibly can... it won't tip stall. But by the time it finally touches down, it's going so slow it won't catch lift if it tries to bounce.
I wanted one since it came out, now it just moved to the top if my list. Hope Jon from 2 Bros RC will test one as well, really curious what he can do with it.
The coolest thing about it imo is it has a functional rudder. I have the 64mm F-15 and it's a pain for me to line it up for landing.
Can't say I'm surprised. My Habu 2 was one of the daily drivers in my fleet. Gave it drop-in hobbyking metal retracts when the stock gear broke off, and even with the extra weight, it had 0 bad habits on a 4s battery unless I actively *tried* to mess things up, even with no gyro. It'd be hard for HH to mess this one up unless they radically redesigned the airframe.
holy crap I need one of these
I still have the habu 32. Another amazing machine ! I wish they do a big habu. But as you said before. Rip balsa e flite
My second plane right after a high wing glow trainer my dad had was the original Parkzone Habu. I flew the hell out of it... An amazing first jet. I've still got a Habu 2 that I just don't really fly anymore. Should get it back out!
I love all the sailor clips and we’ll you know 😂😂😂😂
I have one and love it
Your videos make me feel less alone. Now I just need to take the next step, go to a real field, and fly with friends in real life hahah
E-Flite 50mm Habu is a great little edf, and it’s effing mental on 4S. I changed out and upped the esc and fly it with the Spektrum 4S 1800mah smart lipo all the way back. You guys are spot on about maxing out the elevator throw, but you really got to work on those hand launches boys..!! ;^)
I like my Habu 50, I did bounce it into a Concorde nose though. So it does break right at that joint in front of the air intakes lol .
This intro is just 😂🤣🔥
the inner part of the wing is designed to stall before the wing tips get a chance to. so when it stalls, it should just drop the nose because the inner part of the wing is now producing less lift (past max lift AoA) while the wing tips are still at the lower AoA side, not at the peak of the AoA on the lift curve.
More impressive than the airplane I'm wondering how you talked to dance group into dancing for you LOL that's funny s***
How much did you have to pay for the video at 0:27????
Also, where can I get it done?
We got our 10yro son one for Xmas. Ditched the Safe Rx as we don‘t fly Spektrum. He loves the jet!
Between this plane and the UMX A-10, I'd take this one!
Honestly i fidn the habu majorly underrated, my dad had one of the original silver ones and both still outrun my stinger
I can’t wait for full scale v2
That looks like a great host for a Remote ID Compliant ADSB transceiver we'll all be forced to install soon.
You guys went to Flite Fest? That burning plane looks like Furey Field.
Nice indeed
Could you guys have a go with the 70Mm version?
Seems like a 6S beast with the same characteristics.
Could you add flaps if you wanted to? Also, could it handle a small FPV-style gimbal?
Will you be doing a radian or other glider review? I know its not really your style of plane you go for though.
Hey can you maybe mention something about Remote ID in a future video?
Gosh... a couple of digs at the RC Saylors, there, eh?
hear me out.
RC plane insurance 😮
Have you ever tried the Arrows Bigfoot I have brought one and very impressed how smooth it is, I would like to see you put one through its paces.👍
Unfortunately, we don't plan to buy one since it's wing cube loading sits at 8.1 - this is higher than even the Turbo Timber Evo. We chase light STOL planes which is why the Fun Cub is our forever favorite - it has a wing cube loading of 4.2. The weight in the Bigfoot definitely would make it feel more locked on windy days, though.
My best friend purchased this bird a few months ago, it always porpoised on landing. Eventually it cracked across the fuselage because, as we figured out later, the battery was shoved about 5cm toofar up the nose. Other than that, it’s a great flying bird. The UMX Habu is no match for this.
Ah dang! To us that sounds like the stock elevator travel issue more than the CG - we were able to fly ours with the battery all the way forward as well as all the way back with the adjusted elevator travel. Stock travel, on the other hand, definitely led to bouncing some on... 😁
Yup, the travel is less than my sport cub. Who knows, maybe a Habu V2? It happened with the EC-1500…
Food for thought..............
Move the elevator up and down with the canopy off. The servo is moving the foam it's glued to giving you less deflection. I covered my servo and surrounding foam in glue.
That wasn't our experience, but glad you found your issue!
I find that the Freewing Avanti drops a wing much easier with the wing fences installed. Flies better without them for me. I wonder what makes the Habu "dog leg" wing different.
Bravo
Water ski it and great vid.
Does it come with a transmitter?
The Habu 32x is amazing too bad it’s gone now
Kinda want one now but with all the gear
This one excels *because* it doesn't have retracts or flaps. It keeps it less complex for a beginner jet pilot and also keeps it nice and light. 👍
The flying field near me doesn’t even allow EDF planes which is sad, but tbh I prefer STOL stuff anyways.
I wish I could fly but the electronics on my plane gave up 😢
Your videos are the best for telling it like it really is. One of Horizon’s biggest sins is the way they describe the 70mm Eflie Viper on their web site. The first lines say that it’s a perfect first high performance jet but below it’s touted as the best choice for a first EDF jet. But only because the beginner will NEED to use SAFE to land the damn thing and it’s still a challenge for the beginner. It’s the only EDF jet I’ve ever seen that needs 90 degree flaps to get anywhere near a reasonable landing speed. They made the wing for speed but then decided that somehow it could be a good first jet.
Have you tried a strong under hand throw?
Use that with my Arrows 50mm and V900 with the Safe on.. takes off with no issues...
Underhand in my opinion is safer and alot more controlled. I maiden my precision aerobatics, slick 480, any small plane by underhand launching. Real easy and quick way to see what inputs need trimmed if any
@jasonmoore4579 ive never tried the mini habu... thought it was not worth the value the little arrows 50mm have..
However ive been reading about that new freewing F9F 64mm.. and that looks to be a little bit of fun as well..
If you have a little bit of flying skills, everything the 50mm habu does the arrows 50mm viper does better. It stalls clean, hand launches easy, can be mild to wild depending on how YOU set it up and is pretty easy on batteries. It’s wing loading is much lighter with the recommended battery being a 1300 instead of a 2200. While a 2200 will fit in the Arrows viper why load it up and make it fly horribly just for a little extra flight time. Get more batteries and change them. Besides, everyone needs the takeoff and landing practice.
Why so late it came out like 2 year ago. But still love the vids plz post more often looking forward for the next video
Could you pls make a rewiev of the e flite air tracktor because I've heard it's quite aerobatic and it has some massive undercamber. Moar camber Moar better right? 😂😂
How did you get that video 😭
I dont wanna imagine what you paid the Actors that recorded that "Congratulations Horizon Hobby" Video XD
I want a baby viper. With retracts and flaps. And a big functional rudder
This one has a functional rudder. 👍 Keeping the retracts and flaps out make it simpler and less complex for the beginner - and most importantly of all - keep it lighter. 😁
Put Thrust vector on it!!
Appeal to the absolutely worst pilots is maybe my favourite line in any review hahaha
😁
My habu 70 mm is my favorite bird
Tbh you should try the bigger rtf 70 mm habu you have three modes you can switch on beginner intermediate and advanced but advanced doesn’t have any self leveling but there is panic button
This has that option as well 👍
That’s actually cool I didn’t know that😮
I am searching for a small edf jet to train high alpha on jets with, can you recommend something?
Check out our video titled, "They Did NOT Pay Us to Say This | FMS 64mm Rafale"
We just bought one at the LHS and the canopy was missing. Our fault for not inspecting it I guess 😡
Wish I could still buy a f27 styker. That thing was a blast to fly and very durable.
I can't bind mine in safe mode ?
I wonder if the RC -Shillers- Saylors watch your channel?
I crashed mine the first flight. I’ve been trying to fix it but haven’t been able to get in the air again. I thought maybe my elevator servo got damaged because of how little it moved control surface even after moving the rod. I guess that’s just part of the plane though. Will try again the plane looks pretty beat up but hopefully I can get it to fly
I also don’t have a proper runway so maybe I need to do a better hand launch with it…
@@aquila5881or find a proper runway. If this is your first ever plane. Well yeah. That was a mistake
@@krotchlickmeugh627ot quite my first or second plane but I’m still pretty new. First jet. Got it flying well now though which is great!

What was that…?
@ 0:26 wut... uhhh,
What did I just see with my eyes?!
I just wanted to watch an -influencer- reviewer talk about the The Baby Hubu is Impressive
o no
Get on it, Bailey….
Launching it by hand just takes practice.
I put my own 800w 4s setup in my baby habu. It's scary.
