The Performing Artists’ Mental Health and COVID-19 Webinar Series, under the auspices of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, offers free weekly webinars on mental health for performing artists, and the multidisciplinary professionals who work in performance science, medicine, education and psychology. In these extraordinary times, extraordinary and creative measures are needed to help performing artists and all of us cope with the disruption and challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. In this webinar series, experts in mental health, and performance health and well-being provide insights, practical tips and sage advice for those helping performers and for performing artists themselves. Our mission is to help people help themselves and others. We have years of professional training and we acknowledge that mental health will be affected by the difficult times we are in and that we will face through this pandemic. There are simply not enough mental health workers to go around, and so, we believe that helping individuals help themselves is the way forward at this time. Therefore, we offer our years of experience in these webinars for you to use and share as you like. We sincerely hope that you find something useful to help you cope and move into a resilient mode of being. We share this with our deepest respect for your talents, passion, artistry, challenges and unyielding ability to rise, flourish and thrive again.

I find these webinars most helpful as they address the whole person and dancer. As a physical therapist, this helps remind me that when I do see patients again, there's no way I can successfully treat their "physical" ailment without addressing their mental and emotional components. This is something I already know but it will be most important going forward with he pandemic effects.

Fantastic, the time went by quickly as I watched this and I felt calmer when it ended. I'm an opera-singer who loves to move and I'm deeply missing performing at this time. I got here thanks to Ann Balz and OperaWorks. I had the great pleasure of working with Dr. Paula Thomson in the summer of 2007. Thank you all for generously sharing your expertise and advice in a clear format.

Wow, your webinars just keep getting more and more helpful. The interaction amongst the panel is particularly informative, and everyone's positive approach is healing in-and-of-itself! The "unpredictability" of life right now definitely is at the core of recognizing and then healing. I look forward to the sleep/dream webinar! Keep up your invaluable work!
