You are right about it being another world. That spaceship in town and the weird landscape just out of town feature in the science fiction movie "Pitch Black".

Cobber Pedy is a pretty interesting place. I think we stopped in for a couple of nights and had a look around but still missed a lot of the underground stuff. No wonder they filmed Mad Max out there, perfect desolation LOL
It is a must see place. I glad I went
Don't think i could live there, too hot & flies would drive me insane

See any Mad Max 3 landmarks? Next year will be the 40th anniversary, might be worth rebuilding the Thunderdome (if it wasn't on a NSW set)
