I respect Jordan massively more after this. Every single one of michaels interviews follows the same structure with (obvious) rehearsed answers on michaels end, yet JP’s analysis and deconstruction of everything he said and his background provided a different insight into Michael that we haven’t seen and forced different answers out of him for once. Love it

@@nexustradinginstitution2548 in most interviews conducted by journalists or reporters I'd agree with you 100%. Imo, in this case, jordan is a psychologist, his insight and thoughts are 50% of the value of watching. He provides answers to questions posed. The other 50% of value comes from the subjects experience and thoughts about such. It's more than just entertainment, there are nuggets of truth that can apply to many.
There was only a couple times jordan went on a tangent, and usually it pertains directly to the topic of discussion, and isnt particularly long winded. I wouldn't even call this a interview, it's a two way dialogue. Why watch if you don't want to hear him? Most of what Michael talked about I've already heard word for word in every interview of him.

He has never drank alcohol or done drugs. Alcohol at any level is a poison to the body. I stopped drinking about 7 years ago occasionally I will drink once every few months. I am 34 now and people say I look 27. It is definitely living a healthy life and not drinking alcohol that then you see how people really should age. I probably actually look 39 compared to a person at 34 that has never drank alcohol. But to a frequent person that drinks alcohol regularly their entire life I look younger because they are aging there body more quickly in doing so. He looks like how a 73 year old should look but also he has always been slim, never overweight and his dad lived to a very old old age. Alcohol is poison so people just need to remember over the course of a lifetime you may be taking off 10-15 years of your life maybe even more.

I have now watched this interview 3 times. I’m particularly enlightened by Jordan’s response where he quotes Leonard Cohen that, there’s no decent place in a massacre - with the point being that we put ourselves in a situation where we tell series of small seemingly harmless lies, only for us to eventually find ourselves having to deal with a bigger lie.
Much thanks to Michael for being genuine and truthful - throughout the interview, I kept thinking that his wife has struck a jackpot cos this is a man whose word is his bond and is fiercely truthful and loyal. I admire that a lot.

My dad had drug problems. He left before I could remember. I don't remember him ever living with us. There were us three kids and my mom and we went hungry a lot. My dad went to jail for drugs when I was ten. Eventually he became addicted to cocaine. Eventually he was shooting up. He got arrested, but he came down with Hep. B.
I spent my youth angry at the people who brought drugs into the community and sold them. These crime families would keep drugs away from their own kids, but they'd happily sell them to people whose families were destroyed by drugs.

We remember the choices people make. Nobody is holding us at gunpoint to take drugs. 42:30 really got me, I went numb and cold for a minute there, thinking we just learned his Dad was a sociopath. I can’t imagine how he felt, if I myself died a little in my chair hearing it. Also the part where he tries to tell his little brother that it was his fault their Dad was back in prison… I hope he is one day able to understand that his brother was actually right and saw things more clearly than he did. This is a more common dynamic among oldest and younger siblings than you might think. I also think it was amazing how his loyalty ethos played out on all facets of his life- the ability to recognize that fear-based loyalty is superficial because you just follow whoever scares you the most and that can always change, versus love-based loyalty which endures all things. Simply fascinating. I also enjoyed learning that Giuliani, who mostly gets hate, really cleaned up NY in his own way. Wow. And lastly, I Lol’d hard when he said Catholics don’t read the Bible, just the Catechism. The Catechism is a book explaining everything the Catholic Church believes, it’s just helpful for studying the Faith for anyone curious. It could never ever replace the Bible, which gets read FOUR times, not once, on Sundays, and not only on Sundays but everyday because Catholics have Mass everyday, not just Sundays. Lol. Anyway, I’m glad for him that he found the faith even though he didn’t fully make it back home.

I liked that comment about loyalty. That loyalty is controlled by either love or fear. When I was a kid, I grew up in rough area, my goal was to make friends with all the thugs, so I didn’t get targeted, bullied or beat on, and I found myself very loyal to them and made sure I went out when they asked and defended them as much as possible. Did horrible things that clearly wasn’t me and how my parents raised me. All because of fear.

I wonder how much personal atonement he has made, with regards to reaching out to apologise or attempt to help those he harmed along the way. To see the light and live a godly and good life afterwards, doesn't mean much to those people if he did none of that. As for Jordan...I don't know if its his role on a public stage (maybe on a private one to one basis for counsel) to push and delve into his specific crimes and misdoings. Im sure the guy has to be very guarded of those for legal and even conscience related reasons...but for Jordan to be branching out and speaking to as many 'types' and taking in as many perspectives as he can, only helps to build his library of understanding of the human psyche..however much he may have fluffed over this guys original sins!

Jordan has developed amazing ability to debate and defend his positions. He also honors that incredible part of his agreeableness and genuine care for others. He sometimes talks about his agreeableness in a negative light. While it has its draw backs, it is one of my favorite things about him. If you're forced to lie, then you waited too late to act or have been living a series of microlies for quite some time. In short, you brought on yourself. Valid point.
