For Ciara: Capsaicin which is present in chili peppers and therefore hot sauces can activate neurons in the diaphragm, which contracts and causes hiccups. Great video as always!

The second reason why alcohol can cause sneezing and congestion is because wine, beer and spirits contain histamine, a compound that elicits an allergic response.

As someone who owns over 150 bottles of hot sauce, Ed Curry is an absolute legend in the hot sauce world. You guys got treated!
Eat them. Bottle a week and you'll clear through them eventually.
I like his back story even more. A pot smoker who had chili peppers and enjoyed the endorphin rush better than a marijuana high so much he quit pot and started to grow and cultivate the worlds hottest chili's chasing that high.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I love wasabi. It gives that instant kick of flavor, then fades pretty quickly. I'm not a fan of the long slow burn you get from a lot of hot sauces and peppers.

I love how Ciara and Dr. Sarina each have full tablespoons worth of sauce on each chips and completely unphased, and everyone else has a moderate amount and most are on the struggle bus.
Also, if you watch Hot Ones and don't yet know, Ed Currie is the dude who makes their hot sauces and, IIRC, developed Pepper X largely for their Last Dab sauce.

I'm not a fan of most hot sauce. My tolerance is extremely low. But I thoroughly enjoy watching others have varying levels of discomfort.

I love hot sauce, and use it all the time. I always assumed I was a “the hotter, the better” person, then my dad got me a monthly subscription to a hot sauce club. They came in 3 packs, mild, medium, hot. I found that quality milds were the best. Anyone can make stupid amounts of heat, but at the lower end they have to develop the flavors.
Donal definitely had crazy eyes during this one. 😳😂

I have most of those sauces in my hot sauce fridge. Yes, I have a hot sauce fridge. You all really need to try Chocolate Plague hot sauce from Pucker Butt, it's made with Chocolate Bhutlah peppers which hit like an atomic bomb. There's no build up, no show burn with Chocolate Bhutlahs, they just hit with everything all at once. I find them to have more burn than Carolina Reapers.
The chocolate plague is by far my favorite one to mix for wings. If you mix a little cane syrup, a little melted butter, and it... The flavor ends up really nice.
Its funny that she happens to wear a Clemson pullover during a video trying hotsauces from a South Carolina company.
Haha, even as an avid spice hound, I still get hiccups from truly superhot sauces. These Puckerbutts are really well done tbh.

Love the fact the one lady is wearing the Clemson hoodie since that is where the Carolina reaper was grown.
Ironic that both Clemson and Puckerbutt are located is South Carolina.
I wish I could get a bottle of "insanity sauce" i got back in the 90s in Arizona. The people that sold it gave a tooth pick for a sample and said they used it to remove oil stains from their driveway. One time I added like 8 drops on a plate of rice and was to hot so mixed the plate with the rest of the pot of rice, had to throw out the rice because it was still blistering our mouths and I grew up with Hispanics that put hot sauce on pretty much everything.
That is made by Dave's It is still available. Believe it or not they have like 3 sauces that are hotter now. I ruined several plates of food with a drop or two too many, haha.
Thats nothing compared to the newer sauces.. yes ive had it lol
A "friend" got me to try that at a big picnic years ago. It burned so bad that I ran up to the 5-gallon cooler and opened the spigot straight into my mouth. The ice-water was in the OTHER cooler. I got HOT WATER that people were using to make tea and cocoa. Oopsie! I honestly cried.
If you mix Dave's Insanity Sauce with buttermilk it makes it absolutely awesome chicken marinade

Her poise is incredible - she can be deadpan about pretty much anything - but her actual alcohol tolerance is pretty low. The few times that they actually have significant overall quantities of alcohol through a shoot, she's gone...
I love when at 9:46 where you can see Donal's expression change as the burn suddenly hits and you can see the immediate regret in his eyes. His slow meltdown afterwards is amazing. I'd certainly hate to be in his shoes right then and there but it was entertaining.
