@Francisco Javier as a life long fan of Metallica, a drummer and someone with a sense of humour, you need to lighten up, it was a joke not a dick, back it up a couple of inches and stop crying
I don't mean to be rude, but what concerts did you watch? Because that was not at all the same way they played it back then. Lars was insanely fast back then, Jason was brutal and James was just relentless.
Well, Metallica tone is fairly simple (basically highs and lows notched and with no mid) albeit I agree getting that super scooped mid sound out of a semi-hollow is probably difficult with just an amp. Almost 100% guarantee they’re using an EQ to scoop the excess mids out, and most likely using a boost before the amp (tube screamer or something similar) to beef up those single coils.
Considering its far from being any sort of heavy metal, I'm almost bothered by it, but their performance was more thrash metal than metallicas last 7 albums
Wtf, this is top notch. I laughed when he said "tell them to play this as good as we do," but shit, they weren't kidding. I don't think Metallica has played this song this well since the 80s.
That was literally only a small part, and without an intro, and the vocals are anywhere close to James.... Who that hell have u been seeing in a while?
Tone has absolutely nothing to do with the guitar at the high gain that metal uses. It is singularly the speakers in the cabinets that matter. This has been proven with testing.
Dude I'm glad you mentioned that I couldn't figure out if he was saying a word or just growl. I rewinded to that part atleast 100 times because that energy is awesome
@@felipemotorheadThey're about on par, James has never been a great vocalist. His main thing has always just been his ability to play the guitar so fast and accurately, while singing decent at the same time.
I just saw a clip of this and had to see the whole vid. I would love to see these guys and Richard Cheese do a show together but i dont know who would open for who 😊
I've had the chance to see the band during The Offspring first part on september 2011 and it was too short first part but so much pleasure to assist to the show and the sound was very good. I still remember it as it was yesterday. Thank you very much for all your musics.
This is so freakin good, except for how short it is. The only other recent coverband of this quality that I can think of was a one-off Nirvana tribute concert back during covid by Post Malone and some friends including Travis Barker. Epic.
this is called "getting the glory by only playing one minute, w/o having to do the real work of playing like this for 2 hours every night." Good tone though.
Sounds weird hearing battery played live with the drums being in perfect time
Time is not perfect. It slows down. Are you deaf?
@@galetinmthis weasel just needed the opportunity to bash Lars as all the sheep.
Haha too funny man, great original joke.
Your ears don't work so good.
@Francisco Javier as a life long fan of Metallica, a drummer and someone with a sense of humour, you need to lighten up, it was a joke not a dick, back it up a couple of inches and stop crying
They legit played it with the furiosity of 86-89 Metallica.
fucking exactly 🔥
except half the speed
@@c0hink176and energy without jason there is not much energy rob is good but still half the enrgy of the band was coming from jason
@@Bigdog0242 that's a whole other conversation

He gets a sick metal tone out of a fully hollow body guitar with single coil pickups.
P90s are Great pickups
It's not hard lol

I know right insane
Metal zone
This is the first time I've ever come across this band. They are magnificent !
Their back catalog is a wild ride, enjoy
samesies
Same here!
Same!
Oh same and I'm here for more!!! Where should I start listening??
Screaming "HEAVY METAAAAAAAL!!!" to a crowd is the coolest shit ever

@@Hunt4Yoshi Huh?
@@wesker464 Ignore him. We actual metalheads laugh at these cartoon 'metalheads' that treat it like a cult and get pissy when others dip their toes.

Scientific fact that when your a frontman with a mustache you gain metal powers

I haven’t heard “Battery” played live so well like that in a while!!!!
That was literally only a small part, and without an intro, and the vocals are anywhere close to James.... Who that hell have u been seeing in a while?
The tempo in this video is worst than the worst concert Lars has ever played. You all are definitely deaf hahaha
Drummer is half younger than Lars and still playing with some effort, great band live though
EVER
666 i can't like this lol
I feel like this guy would do some really nice Motörhead covers!
The bass player sang Ace of Spades during the show I went to: czcams.com/video/EzzMiPvmGYQ/video.html
They do
@@davidbolton4930yasssss!

How to win the other half of the crowd, confidence, that moustache, and playing battery THAT well.
Bravo.
It is a Boss Moustache 😎😎😎😎😎😎
A magnificent mustache is the key to so many things, including this magic.
I wanna hear Four Horsemen lol
@@grr619 Of course he uses a Boss Metal Zone plugged into a Boss Metal Zone to perform that track.
Not just any mustache. That’s a big “Eff you mustache”.
A grand salute to this band for nailing metal tone on non-metal guitars. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Tone has absolutely nothing to do with the guitar at the high gain that metal uses. It is singularly the speakers in the cabinets that matter. This has been proven with testing.
@@DarkMatterBurritonot entirely. Some pickups are better. Singles coils typically have a brighter sound
@@carth531 Yes, I meant to be more nuanced and say that the pickups do contribute to sound but The body of the guitar is irrelevant.

I'm more surprised there was no feedback from the Casino
Its hilarious how they play that like that when their whole outfit says marching band for the queen. They sound awesome
Omg they absolutely melted my face when I saw them play this live, had no idea it was coming!
It melts enough off CZcams ! Jeez
You should go see some metal bands live
The Fight Fire with Fire ending sealed the deal lol, loved this
I’d take a whole metal cover album by these guys honestly
Royal Republic has a DRUMMER.
Downloading this as the ultimate "Battery" performance.
Way to go RR ✊🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🍻🇧🇷🏴🖤
the suit, the moustache, the hollow body.. these guys are lit
Has anyone addressed the initial growl at the of the opening riff? Wtf how clean was that.
Just like James does. This guy nailed it
Dude I'm glad you mentioned that I couldn't figure out if he was saying a word or just growl. I rewinded to that part atleast 100 times because that energy is awesome
we need the full version of this cover!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!
Don’t think they can Lars pressed charges like the little twat he is
Better tone than the past few Metallica albums, and with a hollow body with P90s and a Tele
Tele’s are good for everything tho
dream on....
Past few Metallica albums are really good tho... just like their older albums too.
Seasons was great
@@AL3X1KUSwhat strange is besides MoP, im seem to be only coming back to newer albums lol
This guys voice is amazing! That VOi! At the beggining was perfect
Holy shit i didn’t expect this to be that good! I‘d buy a royal republic metal album 100%
Never heard of them before this cover. AMAZING cover so crisp the sound is so good!!
The sound is so good because it is a very good song made by the best band of all time 😊
His vocals sound great!
I'm not sure people realize how fuckin impressive it is to play this shit on a hollowbody and telecaster. Absolute lunacy. 💪💪💪
why? it's an electric guitar, put the right pickups and you can record the next Anaal Nathrakh album.
That guitar tone though!🤩🤩🤩
Cant get enough of this. So 👌 perfect. Wish it had the rest of it
Amazing. Studio quality live.
Truly impressed by how clean and good this sounded
I haven’t heard battery with this energy since 1986! I got to see this band live 🤘🤘
You really think this compares to Metallic 1980s?

This is so damn good. They need to do a full cover of this. Nothing hets the mosh started as much as some old school Metallica
This makes me smile...f'n awesome!! Such great energy!!!!
that moment when Ron Burgundy sang metal
The dude in the AC/DC shirt was like “yeaaaahhh my people” 🤘🏻
This goes so hard every time you play it live. 🤘
Can't wait for the first full on Royal metal album. 😁
