The ideas that are shown in the ads brings so much potential with it displaying a psychological horror twist on pokemon similar to *cough cough* Lost Silver (or Omori but I haven't played it yet so idk). It's so sad that it was mis advertising because the premise looked pretty unique. (Well you can kinda say that with every mobile game ad but Evertale stands out the most in my opinion.)

As I person who didn't even know they ran ads and just downloaded the game on a whim, I can say the game is decent (that is more than likely why the reviews are high despite the comments). If they advertized the story as it is I believe it still work, but it is a shame they stooped to the false advertizing bit. Also, apparently it was like Pokemon in a sense during its early updates. There was the monster centric gameplay where you run and catch monsters in bushes, and then level them up in order to evolve them.... then the devs decided that gacha and waifu was the way to go.
Why the are they showing early alpha footage? Are they that scared and desperate that they need to show the past and not what it became? Or have they realised they’re pretty much fucked since they ruined it at some point.
As good as the game might be, that doesn't justify misleading content and only makes you lose trust for the company as a whole. I'm not going to play a game that has to blatantly lie to get new players to join the game.

Honestly the story past the first Act and the side stories are surprisingly decent. Similar to the older Star Ocean, Valkyria Chronicles JRPG type story format. If they advertised it as a story with some voice acting, or even just market it as a waifu simulator rather than this Pokémon horror scam, they can still draw an audience without the backlash.

Not going to lie, the ads are misleading but the game is actually great it has a compelling story, sure it has its drawbacks but you should genuinely try it, if you aren’t focused on the hentai scale you might enjoy it, and it’s not even much of a Pokémon rip off the only thing close to it is the capturing mechanic of monsters you probably won’t use, except for the magma catfish because he has an ability to get the crap beaten out of him before your Allie’s to be a meat shield, but still consider giving it a try, I went into this game thinking I would just uninstall it but I joined an alliance with genuinely nice and kind and helpful people willing to help and guide me, despite being a begginer after just beating the first part of the story before the second story they welcomed me in and helped me along the way telling me which heroes I should focus on grinding to, the Evertale players are some of the kindest online players I’ve ever met and while playing the second story I genuinely felt my heart break from a super sad moment, so don’t just peck at the surface of this game and go, “oh this game is just a fake” it’s a genuinely good game and it was quite clever to do creepy Pokémon ads despite being misleading the game is good and is definitely worth your time to give it more than a peck!

I remember playing this game b4 it had all this BS. It was okay I guess. Only reason I played it was cuz it reminded of a an mmorpg I used to play as a kid that recently got shut down so I wanted to experience that feeing again. Got through the first part and dropped the game immediately. It’s Gacha system is sh!t as expected and all the characters you can pull are female and boring. I personally find the Gacha genre to be stupid and dumb asf but there a few hidden gems that really standou lt but don’t get enough recognition(ex: The Alchemist code, Grand Summoners. ) These games are fair and greatly animated. They also don’t require you to dump hundreds of hours into the game and don’t force you to play daily. Lord of heroes is also a really good Gacha game cuz the Gacha is essentially optional. You only use it when you REALLY want a specific weapon and/or set for a character. Literally every character can be obtained via free-to-play tactics and it doesn’t even require multiple hours. There are probably a few more but these are the ones I personally enjoy and I think stand out and deviate from the traditional Gacha route.
It so stupid that if these companies invested in actually making these games as the ad showed people would play them. Honestly there should be a law for false ads or the Apple store removing them
