      I think he gets a bad rep because of the sunglasses, they acted like he did it to be a show off or to try to look cool when it was really due to a sensitivity to sunlight from an eye injury as a child. Mostly he was just a normal guy with typical impulses brought on by situations, like mooning the helicopter, they kept asking about an injury to his buttocks and he got sick of it, maybe it wasn't the best response but it was ultimately just a guy fed up with answering the same question over and over.

    Yes, the updated list would include AB, though seeing both Brady (just a pretty boy) and McMahon (rebel) not belonging on the list, Keyshawn should definitely be on this list. The man wrote a book, “Throw Me the Damn Ball”

      @@gamer7749 Without question. Although a lot of the clip would have to explore CTE and the Bengals playoff hit because before all that, I couldn't pick him out of a lineup. I knew his name and how great he was, but he took favorable contracts with Pittsburgh if memory serves and put up elite numbers. Then out of nowhere, it seems like he's gone crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Though I hated him when he played, they keep using "LT" for LaDainian Tomlinson. Which is ok but LT belongs to the player who defined the position of the Outside Linebacker. His name is Lawrence Taylor. That's who LT is. LT won Super Bowls. The other LT needs to change his to LTS

    Jets fan here, 100+ games live. Family had season tickets from 1965 to 2010 and Namath deserves to be higher. Could he take a hit?, yes. He was a tough diva but still a big diva. He was the original Favre when it came to indecisive about retiring the following year. He quit to keep his bad in June 1969 and only in October 1969 he was already talking retirement. He would sit out of camp and it got to the point where his teammate would fake retire too

    That bit of analysis would have come as one hell of a shock to Darryl Stingley - HAD HE NOT ALREADY DIED BEFORE THIS EPISODE CAME OUT OF COMPLICATIONS STEMMING FROM THE BROKEN NECK THAT HE SUFFERED IN A 1978 PRESEASON GAME THAT LEFT HIM A QUADRIPLEGIC!!!

      Yeah that was inaccurate. Theismann’s injury was brutal and grosteque, but Chuck Hughes literally died on the field. Even if you say that was because of his pre-existing arteriosclerosis, Darryl Stingley was paralyzed from the neck down.
      Mike Utley got paralyzed from the chest down. Reggie Brown stopped breathing, was given CPR, and had to re-learn how to walk.

    I worked near Joe Theismans' restaurant in Arlington for several years, and had lunch when he was there many times. Super nice, friendly, down to earth guy. Certainly no "diva".

    I'd be curious to see an updated list because I think their hatred for Favre is blinding their logic and way overblown. Plus this came out after he finally retired so it was fresh in their minds. If you think Favre should be high on the list fine, but he's not number one. To say "He's the quintessential diva, it's all about me" I mean really? They honestly think he was more of a diva than TO and Ochocinco?

    Dale Hanson who is a well respected sportswriter in Dallas talked about TO and said something to the effect of he had issues with the teams he played for and it might not have been all of his fault but if everywhere you go there's a problem you're the problem

    I saw Randy Moss play in person in December 1996. Marshall University defeated Northern Iowa in a Division 1-AA playoff game in Huntington, West Virginia. Chad Pennington,who later played with the Jets, also plàyed in that game.

      How do you figure? I don't recall ever seeing him deliberately showboat or intentionally draw attention, matter of fact other than Bill Belichick he is the master of deflecting attention, like when they kept asking questions about an injury and he just kept calmly repeating that he wasnt going to talk about that. Probably the 2 most boring interviews ever are him and Belichick.

    If they redid this list today, OBJ and Jalen Ramsey would fit perfectly in this top 10. They cry enough, get more hype than most and when it’s all said and done, they left their first teams to teams in better situations to just cash in rings. Not career nor franchise players

      I thought Namath deserved to be in the top 5. I wouldn't make him 1 because, like they point out, he wasn't a whiner, crybaby, "it's all about me" kind of a diva. He got special attention and he enjoyed the ride, but he's not number 1.

    Its gotta be T.O. for me. Favre wasn't a diva, his 10 billion retirements were annoying for sure, but he wasn't all about himself for the majority of his career. T.O. was all about T.O. for 10-12 years of his career. If there was a trophy handed out to the Most Diva Player of the Year each season, it'd be named after T.O.
