Top 10 Things We Miss About Football
zhlédnutí 63KPřed 3 lety
Today's show is the ten things we about football the most. This episode originally aired in 2011.
Vince Young was one
How is Sean Taylor not on this list? Watch his hits on CZcams. I think he was the biggest hitter
Joe Montana only 81 yds passing . Didn’t see that often .
What was crazy is that the Niners failed to win a playoff game in 85,86,87 it wasn’t until 88 where they finally got rolling again in postseason and winning 88&89 superbowls
Vince young 34-19 record is not a tease,he could actually play.
3:29 🏀🏀 😍
Has Sean McDonaugh ever had hair?
53:31 perfect fade, joe
This white dude keeps saying for every white qb that he was walking into a tough situation lol...as if every young high picked qb doesn't have the same pressure....that's why you pick someone so early in the draft based on merit talent and franchise changing intangibles...you are picking high cause your team sucks...nobody goes to the best team that young...coming in without fan support after a great qb or champ is part of the job...
CTE !!!!
Steve Young dominated the league over an 8 year span like no quarterback before him or after. If you compare all the great quarterbacks to the average quarterback of their own era and find out how far above average they were in every statistical category that is kept. Then compare how far above average each of the greats were. Steve comes out as the 3rd best since 1947 per season played. Then when you calculate in longevity he ranks as the 9th best to start a career after 1947. Even though Montana gains points by being on 4 championship teams he comes in lower than Young at 13th best since 1947. Montana played with much superior defenses. BTW Roger Staubach is #1 per season played and #8 overall while Peyton Manning comes in at #2 per season and #2 overall. The best ever when compared to the average of their own era is none other than Fran the Man by a comfortable margin.
That was Miami's last win. The Cowboys would go onto to win the rest of their games and the Super Bowl. Leon Lett would redeem himself with a strip fumble on Thurman Thomas which allowed the Cowboys to pick the fumble and tie the game at 13-13. The Dolphins on the other hand lost their last 5 game going from 9-2 to 9-7 and missing out on the playoffs.
Chris Johnson 2,500 yards from scrimmage should have been in the list
Marty Schottenheimer's spirit is alive and well in the Dodgers' Dave Roberts. . . .
Ron Meyer and Lane Kiffin should be on this list
Joe Gibbs...so,so underrated
who wore number 32 before franco? hubie bryant....
"He didn't make the best effort, to leave it all on the field. He wanted to take a little bit home with him." Well put, Jamie Dukes
I gotta admit...grew up in Pittsburgh 70's, and Love Lambert......but Baltimore Mike Curtis has my vote.....an Lb rockin' #32.....Hell Yeah!
Atkinson is just a punk
None of this was to do with controversies it is all just qb contests! A controversy is tom Brady cheating at least 3 times in his career!
This list is a joke. How is Terry Bradshaw not number 1. He was 4-0 in SB’s. Then you have to put Tom Brady at number 4 in the 2000’s because he didn’t have the statistics of Peyton, Brees, or Favre.
17:33
Warren Moon could chuck the football
I miss big bruising fullbacks.
NOT Leon Lett 😂
Looking back at it Quest (now lumen) should be way higher
why is it in mono
28:03 idk yall put a coach on the list who was coaching an expansion team from the ground up.
We'll I guess I'll take this list three Raiders, should be four and Marcus should be higher.
Would anyone consider Plunket for this list? Rookie of the year, comeback player, 2-time SB winner and SB MVP. Means something right?
O.J. was a great rb in the NFL, people forget how great he was, for other reasons off the field. However, there's no way he should be this high on the list....one commentator was dead right. Dorsett and All should be higher than O.J.
Really that person said playing for the Raiders (C-wood) didn't matter, please. Okay lets taker away all the stats from the Raiders, does he make the Hall?
That Marcus Allen run gets to me every time - we all know the run.
Just insane how many Heisman winners played for the Raiders through history, and at one time, they had Timmy, Marcus, Bo. 8 I believe and if you want to count Matt Leinart (2004) - Andre Ware (1994) - Rashaan Salaam (1999) - then 11. crazy
Jimmy Taylor scored the first rushing touchdown in SB history. And barely missed the second by inches.
Joe Walton was an idiot, garbage time and he has his best running back, who was just coming off an injury, and best wide receiver out there risking injury
Stop trying to compare Joe Cool and Brady because they played in two completely different times with Brady benefiting from a completely QB friendly rulebook that treated QBs and wide receivers like they were made of glass!!! I seriously doubt that Brady would have made it 5 years in the league taking the hits that Joe had to endure and I know he never would've won more than a couple Super Bowls and that's being generous because I don't see him completing an entire season back then while enduring hits by the likes of Ronnie Lott or many other monsters lurking the defensive backfields in those days!!! There were multiple QBs back in Joe's day that I know would've destroyed Brady if they were able to play under the QB friendly rulebook that Brady was able to benefit from!!!
People can say this and that about great defenses, but I'll match it with the Raiders 1983 D with them all. Hall of famers Long, Haynes, Hendricks - Raiders sack leader all time Townsend - and not to mention the insane Alzado and former defensive player of the year Hayes. Millen great LB and loved Pickel and Kinlaw. Van McElroy was amazing as well. Just crazy great. So many Hall of Famers and Pro Bowlers/All pros on that D.
Can't argue with #1, then again, I'm a Raiders fan. Can I get an horrible mention Eric Allen and Charles Woodson. Boy they were great together, and EA should be in the hall of fame also along with Hayes. The 5th best CB (Haynes, Hayes, Woodson, Allen) I saw play for the Raiders (been a fan since 1980) was Terry McDaniel, love watching him play.
Lost the chance to tie because they challenged the Galloway catch and lost a timeout
Bill Walsh is on video twice with that play saying Dwight Clark would be in the back of the end zone. Once before it happened and they ran that play, and again when calling the play. Also the view from behind Montana shows he was putting it where Clark had an opportunity to catch it and the Cowboys defense didn’t. I don’t care either way, it was awesome and won’t change how I feel about it, about the 49ers or about Montana and Clark. Also there’s evidence it was a pass. I would also say if he was throwing it away, that’s a pretty stupid place to put it and could’ve been risky. Why not throw it away like normal if he was throwing it away? Does Montana have a history of getting intercepted when throwing balls away or a history of throwing balls away in the field of play? Or was Clark taller than everybody and Montana threw it high where Clark could catch it and in the direction Clark was running towards? We all know how it looked and that ppl claim he was throwing it away but that’s partially bc if that’s the case, the 49ers win bc of luck, the Cowboys did enough to win but lost bc of a fluke. The Cowboys are better. It takes away from the play being a legendary catch, and takes away it’s importance. But that’s not what happened, it was a pass, a catch, a touchdown, an NFC championship, a Super Bowl appearance, the beginning of a dynasty, and of hall of fame careers.
Sanders was the greatest running back of all time plain and simple.
They need to start another season of these top 10s these were legendary for me as a kid
Speaking as a non Bears fan, Jeff Joniak is the Bears.
Archie Manning was the most overrated player ever. Another great college QB that wasn’t a good NFL QB
RANDALL CUNNINGHAM WAS INCREDIBLE
Hitters can't do what those guys did in those days, so we will never know who was the best going forward.
Brian Bosworth was NOT a bust. WTF!
Rivalries and fullbacks definitely should’ve been the top two, now in 2024 I also miss when there was tackling in the nfl 😂😂💀💀
