      EDIT: Actually it automatically added it to my library once I clicked on the page and just installed it for free!!

      @@godofthecripples1237 It's a Chinese studio, they're all partly owned by China in some way. This particular company went under flak with their first game for stealing assets from other developers without permission.

      @Sig Yes it's very obvious the game was made in UE4, which is basically what 90% of games run on these days. But I think you missed the entire point if this video. For a team of three or so people this is very impressive. Just because a game dev uses unreal engine doesn't mean their game is going to automatically look amazing and play great. There are countless unreal engine cashgrabs with free marketplace assets and look/play like doodo. Yes the story of this game isnt anything great, but the devs put in time and effort to build good looking environments and the actual combat is rock solid for an fps game. The game never promised to be triple A, but still manages to provide triple A aspects despite not having proper financial backing or a even a moderately sized dev team behind it. So I say give credit where credit is due, it's not even close to groundbreaking but still very impressive for what it is.

    That's what smart game devs do; they come up with a gameplay mechanic first, then work everything around that. This way, if something gets cut or changed, the rest of the game doesn't get affected too much.

      If only Cyberpunk 2077 felt like it followed any sort of model like this. If they even just used their own fake "gameplay" demos, to guide their gameplay mechanics for roleplaying, then that game could have been awesome. Sometimes large devs need to take a step back and learn from the new, smaller talent like this small team.

    Considering this game was created by such a small team, I think it’s pretty understandable that it was only two hours. They made what they could with the resources they had. I’m just glad I got to experience it. Even if it was 20 bucks. I’m supporting a smaller company no? It’s an investment for bigger and better games for the future.

      Gotta be careful, don’t spend your money on promises. If you enjoy the product then buy it as is not as it could be. How many companies have fallen from grace? BioWare, Bethesda, CD projekt red. Companies are not your friends. Overambitious developers, mismanagement, corporate greed, all of them willing to sell you broken, half finished products with the promise that they’ll be better in the future.
      And the micro transactions that exits on most games now

      @@oranpyre3932 I completely get what your saying. I’d like to think there is some hope at least for some companies like ember lab who made kena: bridge to spirits but it’s difficult in the current climate. It’s a good thing to point out nevertheless.
      I’m more saying it’s a win-win situation. I thought it looked good and I bought it. The supporting smaller companies is more of an afterthought. I don’t go around buying stuff simply because I wanna support them.

    The shortest game I've ever played was probably Spyro: A New Beginning on the PS2. It took me 2 hours to 100% and I think it was a $30-40 game when it first released

      I remember playing that game and reaching almost the end in one day, then going to sleep because I didn't have a memory card to save and waking up realizing my mom turned the game off in the morning. Was so frustrated had to start all over again but this time finished it in one day at 6 in the morning. Not gonna lie I loved that game was my first game I finished. I was young didn't know much about gaming but now I realize it was really short like damn some of these games you can't even finish in months..... For the normal players anyways 🤣

      I dont get the hate from the remaster honestly sure those games need. Full blown remake but realistically that never going to happen and be each title separately.
      In terms of remaster I think they did a good job and above what anyone else would've done as they did like a hard remaster aka did way more then simple port a title over.

    I mean yes $20 might be a little high but I will support these devs, they definitely know how to come up with a good fps game and I want to see what will they bring us in the future. As you know the team is really small and I don't think they had the budget to hire more people yet, I am eagerly waiting until they do.

    I feel as though games like this are basically the developer working toward putting together a resumé. A short, punchy game is a great way to show what you can do and make an impression when looking to secure funding for bigger developments. Hopefully that is indeed the case because I like what I see so far!

    We absolutely need to support teams like this. The AAA market has become and will remain a cash grab, where the #1 question producers have when designing a game is "what is the best way to bilk our customers for as much money as possible as fast as possible?" Everything else to them is secondary and is in service to that one objective.

      The game is published by PLAYISM.. If anything, games supported by Chinese publishers are much more well off than games in the AAA market.
      Even if the game does badly, the Chinese publisher still pays them compensation. Especially after the games taking a hit from their bullying of a single person for accidentally calling Taiwan a country..

    For me it may come down to 2 factors for the $ vs time discussion.
    1. Does it have any replay value which could stretch the time?
    2. Is it worth showing financial support for a small company like this so they can in the future expand on this game or create something even better?
    Personally I like # 2 as the best option.

      Solid take since we NEED more Indy devs seeing as the AAA market has become a game of "who can screw their customer base the fastest and for the most $", where GaaS and XP boosters and loot boxes seem to be the one and only goal they have.
      I wish this review would have pointed some of those things out (no loot boxes, no games as a service, no micro transactions, etc)
      Personally, I'd give this team $20 even if I didn't get the game for it.

    bought this on the launch day. Completed it in 4 hrs. Gameplay is amazing. And for someone buys a lot of games on steam only to sit still in library, believe me you'll complete this game and it feels great

    This game looks as if it has more effort than many AAA studios. That says a lot. It even falls into line with what I told only of my friends recently:
    The only companies that will work to show you a good product is a small company who needs to build trust and respect.

      I think as long as he doesn't let his studio go public with stockholders, he can maintain the quality of his games. I think that's what ruined CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077. The devs themselves didn't want to release it in that state, but the stockholders didn't care and insisted (or else they pull their money out).

    Review seems pretty fair, and pretty accurate as well, mostly reflecting my experience with the game. I got it for free, since I purchased the first one, so I have no room to complain about it. I enjoyed the game. The way I see it, this game is basically a resume that FYQD can use to get a job working at a larger studio, or for seeking investment funds in the future.

    Having watched this BYB it makes me think this is the love child of Bulletstorm and Dishonoured. It looks quite impressive for a small development team and puts a lot of AAA titles to shame from the gameplay shown here even if it has a few minor issues like Falcon mentioned.

    I haven’t had any trouble wall jumping or anything. I did have one glitch where I did my airborne sword attack which made me somehow fall under the map, but overall the game is pretty damn good. It’s just disappointly short. Hopefully they add more to it for free in future updates and I have high hopes for this developer going forward. If they had a larger team and/or budget, they could really come out with something spectacular

    I also struggled plenty of times with the wallrun, it was a little messy. I encountered some weird glitches during the stealth section as well, my character would be standing at a 30 degree angle after assassinating someone. That was the only real annoying thing to me. And a black screen glitch sometimes; just tabbing out and back into the game fixed it, though.

      The 1st game is even better (although it clocks in at about :30/40 minutes). It has a larger variety of enemies, cooler upgrades and much better lore (that was changed in infinite).
      Besides that, it has actual value in replaying it, since you can only unlock about a 3rd of the abilities in each playthrough.

      achievements are easy to make.... I don't search for them but got a bunch on my 1st playthrough;
      idk about replayability, but the original you had to finish 3x to unlock everything possible, so here it might be smt. similar.

As long as they're free to be commercially used, and are put together in a way that works for the game (in which case it works very well for this game), I see no issue in that, in fact it would save the dev/s so much time especially with an extremely small team. And no, it's not a lazy way to make a game, as 3D assets are just a fraction of what makes a good game. There's plenty of resources out there, so why not use them?

      @@bensmith5288 Re3 remake is actually a few dollars more expensive than the average AAA game at release on steam for me at $93aud and according to howlongtobeat, the average is 6-8hrs for the main. Obviously it depends on peoples values and how they play, but ya, there can be an argument about its worth

    A two hour game? That’s what may be the deciding factor for me to buy it. It looks pretty awesome, and I am very thankful that in this day and age, there are some devs that are respectful of my time. I’m tired of the super long games that are overstaying their welcome with stupid fetch quests and collectibles, etc. Thanks for the review, I didn’t know this game 20 minutes ago, and I’m now looking forward to trying it!

    This looks identical to Shadow Warrior 2. Oriental setting, guns mixed with swordplay, the sword slash with the energy slash thing, the ability to hold enemies up in the air, the dodge dash, all of it lol and the grappling beam/hook thing is coming in SW3. Looks amazing tho!!

    Twenty bucks for two hours experience is the length of most movies so, all in all it isn’t that bad of a price. This has some replay ability at the very least.

    Love how people complain over an awesome looking 2 hour action game that’s right to the point of what it is designed to be when they’ll buy $24 blu ray movies of similar caliber and view time. To be honest $20 is a great deal for a two hour bombastic experience. And it looks amazing.

    Honestly, I think most games try to be too long these days and they really feel like a slog after hour 10 or so (Far Cry 6 comes to mind for games that came out lately). I really like a good game that I can finish in a weekend and still have time to do my housework. 2 hours, while definitely not a weekend's worth of game, shouldn't dissuade you from supporting this team.

    Comparing games that has fps mixed with supernatural to Bioshock is just as bad as any game with stamina and/or dodging and timed combat being compared to a Souls-Borne. Such over used terms it’s getting redundant at this point. Never once did I think this game looked even a little bit like any Bioshock game there are so many other contenders that would make a way more accurate comparison
