Corkscrew POV

- Strap in and brace yourself, because these steel tracks show no mercy. They’ll turn you up, down, around, inside out and back again. Unrelenting speeds and 360-loops are the twists you find on this coaster in the center of Valleyfair. Prepare yourself for weightlessness and rare views of the midway below as you experience three heart-pounding inversions. After exiting the station, Corkscrew climbs 85 feet in the air leading riders directly into a shocking drop followed by a vertical loop. But it doesn’t end there. There’s no time to catch your breath with the ride hits a double-corkscrew element. After exiting the second corkscrew, the ride races into an upward helix before finally returning back to the station. This orange coaster is hard to miss as it winds in and out of the park where onlookers will be sure to hear your screams. Do you have a screw loose? Or are you bold enough to brave these aerodynamics?
Riders must be 48” tall to ride. - Zábava
This ride was lots of fun but the only problem is that it bangs or hits your head a lot which gives you a slight headache. Also, I wish the ride could be longer
It hurts
I went on it yesterday no headache.
Same
"Or are you bold enough to brace these *aerodynamics* ?" Heh. I see what you did there.
*Seinfeld theme plays*
Aerodynamics = Arrow Dynamics
Valleyfair I see what you did that never saw it coming
Badum tss
I love this ride the thing is it hits your head a lot if you want to go to this ride it’s in Minnesota
Skakoppee
Yeah lots of whiplash
omg its so annoying
Not only there. This is a Double Loop Corkscrew by Vekoma and the layout (with minor changes like a corve before the drop or a double loop etc.) was set up all around the world. For example in the Heide Park in Germany or Efteling Park in the Netherlands. Fun but as you say really rough. However most of them must be at least 10 years old. First one of these were produced in 1985.
@@Gritt4reel This Corkscrew opened in 1980.
Love this ride. Sad that it’s the only looping roller coaster. :( If you’re scared of the loops don’t worry because they just feel floaty and you don’t feel like you are going to fall. EDIT> The most intense thing on this ride for me was the head banging.
Yup especially in the front seat it hurts
Well we do have a another looping ride but its not a coaster. Delirious (i think thats how its spelt)
Honestly the loops were the least scary part for me once I actually rode the ride. Every part except the first drop was really fun for me and I hate thrill rides with a passion.
The floating feeling is because of physics. You are in “free fall” because it balances the force of gravity or something like that.
Yeah I rode on this ride in the first time when I was on that loop I felt like I passed out😮
Valley fair needs to build more roller coasters with loops. I love valley fair, been going there since I was a kid
T C I want a b&m invert or a raptor
RMC raptor would be the most likely coaster but with convid-19 hitting cedar fair hard I don’t think we’ll likely see a new coaster at Valleyfair till 2023 earliest
Ian Carroll yeah
@@iancarroll2177 What they should do is maybe get rmc to redo Excalibur. With inversions and everything.
And more launch ones too
The first time I went on this I started crying cuz I was scared of rides that go upside down, but when the ride started it was fun i will probably go again this year
The first time I rode this coaster I was too short, and my cousin spiked my hair up with mousse (it was the 80s) so I was over the line. I remember having a hard time sleeping that night because I kept thinking about going through the loop. The best part was always the downward swoop by the water, although I remember big pine trees I was afraid of hitting.
I loved going on, especially with the fast lane passes made the whole thing just fly by
This ride makes me bang my head a lot
i’m terrified of roller coasters but this one has to be one of my favorites. 😂
I wish there were more coasters with inversions in Valleyfair since this is the only one
I was on this coaster during the fireworks display for the 4th in 2004. First time going there, and I'd lived an hour and a half away for 33 years at that time, so it was well overdue.
This was the first roller coaster I rode with loops!
Yeah mine too
Mine too
Same!
same!
Same!!!
This is my fav ride
Very fun coaster
I've ridden on this back when the track used to be blue with white supports, and it's been years since I've gone to Valleyfair. Hope to re-visit and ride it after being repainted a sunny color scheme with green supports.
This was the best ride in my opinion!
This is the first ever ride I went on that goes upside down. Can confirm very fun
I went to the rollercoaster and had this face the entire time ('__')
LMFAO
('__')
When did they repaint it used to be blue and white I believe.
Correct
Yeah they painted it a looong time ago
They repainted it when snoopy land was first brought into the park
I noticed that Arrows coasters always start the same. Small bunny hill dropping down a bit to give the train enough speed, then the lift hill does the work in slowing the train down. While other coasters have a flat section before the lift hill, and use drive tires to bring the train to the lift. Arrows coasters never used drive tires apart from the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disney World. Arrow coasters rely mainly on gravity and pinch brakes.
Since I’m in Minnesota and I live right next to valley fair I am always there and the thing that scares me the most is being upside down over the water 🥴
My favorite ride at valley fair
This was my favorite ride! Everyone says they don’t like the head banging but if you stay straight it doesn’t bang. And if your afraid of this roller coaster it’s like your on and your done and then you can say you did it!
Yup my favorite ride there lol
this ride is so fun but i hate how it’s so short
Amazing
I'm watching this because my friend is at valleyfair rn, and they just sent me a picture of them in line, lol
When I went on it my head smacked the bars and it gave me a massive headache the whole time you hit smack the bars back-and-forth
In the front ouch! Been there done that
Literally just hold your head in place it’s not that hard it makes the ride way more enjoyable
Corkscrew is my favorite ride at valleyfair
It looks like Dragon Fyre at Canada’s Wonderland except for the 2nd loop is missing, the coaster makes a right turn instead of left and no mid course brake run
this is my starter coaster at valley fair
Tip if you go on this ride don’t wear earrings XD you’ll understand if you’ve road it before
Oh I have earrings lol
Don’t wear earrings on this ride towards the end sometimes your head will go back and forth against the restraints and your earrings will probably stab you lmao happened to me yesterday 😭
I haven’t rode this but I love loops
Best ride
Im deathly afraid of roller coasters and my anxiety disorder doesnt help but i honestly might try this, wish i had sooner with my dad as this was his favorite roller coaster but he passed in december
So sorry for your loss :( did you end up riding it?
@@s.p.0R Not yet! I plan on going there with a friend in a week or 2 :)
@@grapesoda6726 I'm going July 11th!
I thought there was just one time you go upside down when I first went on it
This is basically a copy of Cedar Point's Corkscrew. I guess that makes sense considering Valleyfair is Cedar Point's sister park, but it really could benefit from a smoother inverting coaster.
Valleyfair is my favorite ceder fair park ive been to so far at least
I know it onley has 7 roaller coasters 8 if you include the kiddie coaster in planet snoopy
But still i love it
Why Valley fair
What cedar fair parks have you been to then because I swear if your saying this park is better then CP
This one was my fav when weng there
llama lilli *renegade, wild thing and steel venom have entered the chat*
I call this! The Massive Corkscrew or Corkscrew Coaster
Broo i totally miss valley fair. I was planning on going this year but the coronavirus pandemic struck. I hope they find a good cure and everything goes back to normal soon
Yeah valley fair opened like in may and we are gonna go there Wednesday you can ask your family to buy tickets for valley so you can go there
@@tikaschannel I'm actually going there in august❗❗❗
@@catreko807 niceeee
I'm not a upside down person and when I went on it I was like *OH SHIT* 😂
My first time i was rhe same way im like ohhh hell
Did they run out of budget to build the second loop?
Alton towers: “Ahem I’d like that back.”
Did they re paint the corkscrew? I remember it being navy and white. fun ride but it badly needs an update and more loops with bigger cork screw. :)
That's the one in cedar point navy and white
They definitely repainted it yes it used to be blue and white i know this because as a kid it was the ONLY ride i would get on
They'll replace it before adding to it.
I love this ride but what I hate is when you keep on bumping ur head
The loops are fun but when you reach the top of the loop it goes antigravity mode mode
Valleyfair, Please add a coaster that goes upside down. Okay?
Yeah I went to valley fair actually valley scare
I had to go on this with a cute guy friend of mine- he’s prone to getting sick and throwing up on rides. Luckily for me he didn’t
It was a fun ride
Did you confess
so I’m 12 this is my first roller coaster in my life so I went on the corkscrew I think of the little slope like it’s nothing so I went on it and when I went downstairs that slope it was scary for me I thought I was gonna fall out of my seat so I can imagine what the wild thing is going down that big slope
I went on it and I my head hit the seat and when I came out I was dizzy and I’m 10 and I’m scared of heights
The first time I was at valley fair for a birthday party, my friends tried to get me to ride. Instead I chickened and cried for a few minutes while they rode.
Same broskie
My life
Today I went to valley scare
It’s a shame this is the only coaster with inversions at Valley Fair. If CF doesn’t want to throw a $35mil B&M in the park, there’s plenty of other manufacturers to get one. Vekoma has really stepped their game up with STCs. Not as expensive as B&M either.
I tackled roller coasters with loops , but haven't tackled ones with corkscrews in them. If anyone has been on this or any other rides with corkscrews what was the feeling like , I'm just concerned I'll pass out on them 🤣
I know you commented a year ago but I’ll still give my response because I’ve ridden this ride dozens of times. Honestly if the loops don’t bug you, then you’ll be just fine on the corkscrews, they feel almost identical. Corkscrews do pull you into your seat a little more, if that makes sense.
What the-!? Wasn't this thing blue?!
I love this ride but I wish they would change the restraints, I always destroy my head when I ride this...
It used to be blue. When did it get painted?
I think at least 10 years ago. It’s been a long time!
Alternate title: the "OW FUCK I hit my head on that turn" ride POV
Well the description did say it shows no mercy
The first ride I went on here
same
Do u feel like u are going to fall off at the loops
no it’s just a floating feeling
@@rowanfrmda952 you actually cant feel it
Filiberto Flores ok cause I hate right that go upside down
Who remembers when Corkscrew was blue?
The 9 dislikes are just people who are mad that they don’t live in Minnesota to go on this ride
Soo much arow costers are named corkscrew
My friend told me that she didn’t even know she was upside down
I miss the blue and white color
I wish one of these parks would care for their corkscrew. If they got trains with better restraints these rides would be great. But no park cares enough. Sad.
Valley fair is the best! High Roller was my first coaster. But I live in California, USA. Will you guys get rid of Excalibur? People say you will get a B&M Invert. I wanna know if it’s true.
Coaster Kitten yes I am
Well whatever new coaster comes to this park in the future, it must be called Excelsior.
Mitchell Ries Why? Why would you say that? Was that a joke? Just......Why?
Mitchell Ries you cant just tell a park to name a coaster you want. You might be one of the most confusing GP people ever
It's the perfect name. Excelsior is the name of Valleyfair's predecessor so it would be the perfect tribute to the former park, not to mention the actual Minnesota town of the same name.
still too scared to ride this ride so i’ll just watch from the wave and here lol
Its not scary just close ur eyes if u r going over the loops it helps me a lot u just feel floaty
@@marvelousmari7278 the height isn’t the problem, it’s all the loops and twists haha
@@Gravitation3Beatles3 thats what i meant lol
@@Gravitation3Beatles3 they're not really scary if you actually ride it, but the only problem is they just closed for the year
i've been on every roller coaster at valley fair and corkscrew is my favorite
Do you realize what you just said?
Shane Dawson is queen for life I know that just an opinion. But based on reports, reviews and ride experiences. Its definitely not the best coaster at Valleyfair
Shane Dawson is queen for life Ya I know
Omg personally I hate the corkscrew hurts my head so bad
ItzBrexxy you think this is rough. This is considered the best of its kind even it sucks. The others that are similar are way worse.
My cousin sounds and I wanted to go on it but we decided to do it this year
This coaster always looked better in blue.
Second ever roller coaster lmao
Is this ride scary?!
Unless you consider hitting your head on the shoulder harnesses for most of the ride scary, not really.
Is this ride scary?
Nope
It hurts more than it’s fun Dont even THINK of going on this go on wild thing instead
Literally the same as Corkscrew from Cedar Point
Well they are owned by the same company soooo...
De Anderson well yeah, Cedar Fair is a massive company but I still don’t like when they copy
They’re both made by Arrow Dynamics. It’s a clone. There’s actually several of them scattered around the world. The one at Cedar Point is different though as it does not have a helix at the end like this one does.
@@steveo7771286 Right! Plus Cedar Point's Corckscrew has a little bunny hop before the loop.
@@lonebeech2624 they copy themselves?
now combine this with 3 kingda kas amd boom you have a death ride
Better than Cedar Points Corkscrew, for what it's worth. Wish Cedar Fair would put in a new inversion coaster at VF. Corkscrew being the only one is pretty lame.
My face was 🙂 the whole time on this ride lol it’s kinda boring tbh
Well corkscrew is 40 years old, newer coasters are more intense
So you stole the corkscrew layout?
Time to scrap this ride for something new, and exciting this coaster is so out dated. Valley Fair needs a suspended coaster.
why on earth was it repainted? it looks awful. it should be blue, change it back!
That's a waste of paint to change it back
They need to retrack this one or replace it. It's too thrashy.
this ride is not even scarey
3 THINGS BAD WITH THIS RIDE
1st THE FIRST FLIPPIN DROP BEFORE THE LIFT HILL
2nd IT AINT THAT SMOOTH
3rd IT HURTS YOUR HEAD ON THE BACK-BACK CORKSCREWS
Have to ride this at valleyfair tomorrow 😰 like for support
Ok, I rode the corkscrew. It was pretty good, although my head bobbled around a little bit at the end.
Too many people in line for the ride, and the one time I went on this ride, it was short and boring 😂😂
