Your video is well done. Some questions: For a subscription that does not have an end date (open-ended continuous subscription), how does the subscriber actually cancel the subscription? Does PayPal have some feature that they access? (especially if they made the subscription without themselves having a PayPal account, ie. by credit card) Do they have to contact the website owner and get them to manually cancel the subscription? Thanks

My questions is: I have a number of people paying me a monthly subscription of XX dollars. I want to raise that rate for new subscribers to YY but keep the existing ones at the XX rate. If I change the current link from XX to YY, rather than set up a whole new subscription, will this affect the existing people who are paying XX?

I suppose a better question is: what information is provided by PayPal when I request subscription status in general (I assume there is a means to programmatically obtain a list of subscribers and status). If it's only by user name, that seems suboptimal, since there can be more than one "John Smith".

I think I was able to answer my own question. It seems that PayPal does not allow you to reactivate an automatic payment for some reason once it is cancelled. The only way it seems to make an inactive payment active again is by contacting the merchant or going through their website and cancelling and then re-enrolling in automatic renewal. At least that's the only way I was able to figure it out.

@@StewartGauld Yeah thanks for responding so quickly mate. That's something to note though, I saw that reactivating PayPal auto pay was in the top 5 of Google searches when it came to PayPal, but there was no info about it. Finally on Reddit I found several postings about it. Turns out PayPal doesn't offer reactivation. Even if you cancel by accident and try to immediately turn it back to "active," you can't. You have to work it out with the party you did business with on your own. A bit strange right? I think so. Oh well, nonetheless, it all worked out proper. Cheers

Although this subscription method is technically correct it fails in the fact that their is no integration with a membership site. When a user signs up through paid subscription they also get access to protected content. A user can subscribe and un-subscribe, however upon un-subscribe their is no deactivation of their user account thus allowing access to protected content.

@@StewartGauld In your video you do not discuss how PP sends API to deactivate membership. What you do show is how PP unsubscribes and stops payment. This does not stop access on a user account.

@@StewartGauld Yes, they pay to join on a monthly subscription basis, and they then receive a copy of the newsletter each month. What I'm concerned about, I could get over 500 + subscribers over time. The newsletters are in a different format each month so, how can I change the instruction to PayPal for 500 + different transactions? This must be able to be done automatically but I do not know how.

Its not any different than any other video on CZcams. 11 minutes to explain this? Why not a quick version in the beginning and then a long version. Im a small business owner and time is money. Sitting through a 10 minute video is a gamble. Maybe it will help me, maybe it wont.

Hi Stewart, I have complements. Your presentation and diction are clearly heard and slow enough to follow. That's a big deal for me. I have discovered the hard way that I cannot include more than 1 payment button on a page and I cannot center the button. Any attempt to change anything won't work. Perhaps you can answer those sorts of questions with a solution to these issues. I have not tried multiple links. For me thus far, I must set up a page for each payment option. "Buy in 10-payments go here" Buy in 5 payments Here>>> If you have suggestions I'm sure many would be happy to see them. Best regards, StepheN
