I am not saying Jan cannot have success on the feet, I am just saying that if he stands with Alex for too long he is going to pay for it. He HAS to grapple if he wants the BEST POSSIBLE CHANCE of winning. Of course Jan can catch Alex, but the path of least resistance is for him to take Alex down and to show levels on the ground. Volk is a phenomenal striker but the path of least resistance against Yair was to grapple. So this is a similar fight in which Jan is such a high level striker, but Alex is too risky of a guy to stand with especially given Jan's decline in speed.
Jan is going to grab alex like izzy
You are forgetting one big important factor. They are fighting in Salt Lake City. The elevation alone is going to do a number on their cardio. I see Alex gassing out before Jan. If Alex can’t put him away in the first two rounds, Jan will win. Remember my prediction.
Lucas we all know Jan is knocking Alex our watch Alex will be reacting to the takedown and Jan will ko him
Look out for Jan landing a right hand on the chin of Alex. He likes to change levels whenever he throws that powerful punch, and he’s weirdly long, so he can catch him slipping.
I think he has said a few times that he's going to be doing MMA rather than just kickboxing, of which both are excellent, as former champs of kickboxing.
But I think Jan knows, as you observed, that he's getting older, with muscles no longer twitching as fast... and he's better off doing MMA, which includes taking down an opponent --- especially one so lacking in elite wrestling and BJJ like Alex --- whenever or wherever the opportunity arises.
Even with Glover's coaching, Alex's wrestling and BJJ are nowhere near Jan's wrestling and BJJ.
At 6'5" Alex, at 205 (meaning he's fighting around 220 or so), the dude is going to tower over the already very big 6'1" or 6'2" "Polish Power."
Alex's kicks ARE NOT as fluid or dynamic as the shorter and smaller Izzy's kicks; but they are indeed very hard, quick, and affective... so if Jan's smart, he will not go toe to toe against Alex, as you correctly noted...
Congrats to Jan blahovic for ending the fight by imploding pereira
Facts lol 😂
fr
If you curse potan I will have to get involved Lucas
bro just hits him with the telepathic explosion
@@crocodile6097WE will get involved 🗿😩
Jan’s defense/checking is what makes him top tier, his offense and power are just cherries on top imo
His boxing defense is poor. He gets hit with check hooks constantly. But his checking is one of the best in the division right next to Alex imo
@@nerfnerd36unironically he defends punches in an extremely similar fashion to pereira.
@@bigsmall2842 yeah that is true lmaoo, but Alex is a bit bigger and I would argue has better hand placement
Adesanya telling us that he worked hard in his training camp to prepare for Alex’s leg kicks and still not being able to do a damn thing about them really tells us how good Alex is as a striker. The leg kick battle will be legendary
I have the feeling that Izzy's leg kicking was better in the first fight somehow
@@STiergoofball with all respect you might have to watch again. Izzy was winning in every area except pressure and leg kicks. Ultimately it was a check that hurt his leg and made him fall. In the second fight Pereira abandoned the leg defense and got punched out 😭
@@bahj3758
Yeah ok you were right
Izzy maybe won most striking excanges in both fights but only the leg kicking
That's were Alex was just better
@@STiergoofballno the second fight Alex was out striking Izzy which is why he got overly aggressive and got koed
@@ryquelwalker6209
Izzy literally won round 1
Congrats to Jan for winning a stand-up war against Alex 🎉🎉🎉
fr, boutta go place my bets now 😂
I just realized Jan is 40 now 😭😭 father time is definitely gonna catch up
Time flies feels like yesterday when he was champ
Underestimating dad’s strength is crazy
Alex aint young either
@@Samsaraindonobody said he ain't but the body and mind (especially when u are fighting) changes a lot from 35 - 40, reflexes and cardio take a hard hit in those years
@@Seven-tk7sp alex is in the 35 to 40 range as well. And is coming off a brutal ko with little to no rest.
Jan already said if the striking goes bad for him he will mix in grappling. If Jan can take down Izzy he can takedown Alex
I don't think those two things correlate. He does train with Glover
@@thagumaster1so did since day 1 and Izzy still held him down
@@donchi1234yeah but Alex also took Izzy down so it doesn’t really say much it just appears that they both suck at grappling
@@donchi1234Alex weighs more
@@Lolzzz483 they are…my point is if Izzy could hold him down who sucks ass on the ground..then Jan who actually has grappling skills and also way stronger than Izzy will kill him down there..training with Glover won’t make you a submission artist in a few years..just like Strickland won’t be a worldclass striker just because he trains with Pereira now
Gurantee you this, Blachowicz’s defense against the outside leg kicks and hooks that Alex is known for will give him a ton of issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if Blachowicz ends this fight by KO. Alex always has that nuclear option, but he really does get touched more than people give him credit for.
Yep, way more chinny than people admit too, so many fights esp in Glory where he would get rocked bad. Jan by KO seems to be the play tbh
I think Pierras leg kicks will land and I also think Pierra will knock him out.
That’s what I’m saying. Outside of Alex’s pure knockout capabilities, Jan’s striking skills both offensively and defensively are being slept on.
@@BigPercNowitzkiit’s what happens when you weight bully your entire career. Pereira’s been weight bullying for so long his chin even at higher classes will likely be severely compromised. Weight bullying for wrestling is a lot different than striking. Especially when the guys are closer in size to you like in the UFC, where these LHW are massive because of the ability to replenish.
For sure Alex gets touched way to easily in my opinion a lot of his glory fights he took big shots which only weakens ur chin everytime that happens and it’s happened a lot
You're the only guy I've actually seen bring up how Jan is declining so fair play, been thinking it for a while, he's not at the level he was when he fought Izzy and Reyes.
With that being said, Pereira just suffered a brutal KO 3 months ago so I guess it evens it out
How tf is jan declining?
@@omarisawesome1996 Just looked slightly slower last year
@@omarisawesome1996 hes lost a lot of speed
@@omarisawesome1996Bro is 40 years old. Time comes for everyone
3 months and 3 weeks, but yeah a bad ko for not even 4 months off
Not saying you’re wrong about Jan’s physique declining with age but as a photographer I feel the need to point out that the comparison photos you showed from 2020 to 2022 are not an accurate representation as the 2020 image is shot with an angled light used to define muscle, whereas the 2022 image is using a flat diffuse light which evens out the skin tone and decreases the muscle lines. It’s a classic trick that bodybuilders use when they take gym pics to make them seem more muscular. On top of that, as we saw with Jon Jones, the appearance of muscle does not automatically equal “more strength”. When you are on a bulk, more fat and less defined muscles, you actually tend to be stronger (big belly Jones).
Accurate take. both of these men are warriors either way.
Pereira got KOed 3 months ago, now he's getting hit by a 205er... you cant be confident in his jaw and he has no grappling
Best take
Yeah but they are fighting in high altitude which will favor Alex since he is from Brazil.
@@nsbm159pereira gassed in the third against izzy
@@tiramisutuesday4530no he didn’t, he literally TKO’d izzy in the 5th round
@@thatoneguy5001 yeah because he caught a second wind genius, you can see him visibly tired in the third and fourth round
Lol Jan is a better striker he beat Izzy on the feet the first 2 rounds and is more well rounded Jan is ez money.
If it weren’t for his age and the altitude i’d say this is a silly take because pereira is very open on the feet & jan has sick counter striking but with those being real factors i can understand your point, but if jan doesn’t look too far off from his normal self either guy can win this if it stays standing both are very good strikers
Exactly. It's rly the decline of speed that is making me say this after re-watching his fight with Magomed back.
@@lucastracymma8764damn Jan’s body looks different didn’t realize this
If Alex's flaws couldn't ve exploited on his way to glory double champ, what makes you think jan blachowicz of all people has the answer? He's gonna get smoked unless he's over in Dagestan for his camp
@@lucastracymma8764 yea but you’re delusional for saying magomed clearly won rd1 against jan i rewatched it at 0.5x speed & jan soundly out struck him for the first 3 minutes, ankalaev only landed like 2 strikes until the last 2 mins where he started landing more but he didn’t land enough in those last 2 mins to confidently claim he won the round
@@lucastracymma8764magomed is pretty fast though. Jan looked fast against Glover because Glover is old. It's all comparative. Jan speed hasn't changed much. It's just the opponent is the difference. Alex and him are about the same speed overall.
Lucas doesnt know that Jan has that legendary polish power + 75% Hanged mans rope buff
Alex Pereira by way of overpowered check left hook KO💀
Kinda like his last fight?
Am I the only person that wants Poatan to win??
I want him to win but i can just see jan koing or wrestling and tkoing him
I'd like to see him win. Even though I like both guys, Jan has already won and defended a belt. He's had his time in the sun and Pereira, although he's won the belt, he still hasn't made as much money as Jan
Me too
Do we really want a 40 year old in an already barren wasteland that is 205? No
Great take 👍
Lucas, I think your take was well thought out, and I agree with many of your points. However, did you take into consideration Jan possibly redoing what izzy did to alex in their last two fights? with that unexpected right hand over the top, I’m wondering if Alex has made the adjustments in his style to counter that big hole in his game. Maybe jan will try to lure him into it again.
^^^
If jan is smart, that's exactly what he will do to Alex. There's no way Alex fixed that hole in his game that quick. He didn't fix it after Izzy gave him a standing 8 count back in glory and he didn't fix it after Izzy rocked him in their 3rd fight in the 1st round. Alex seems to not care enough about fixing that.
@@themadman6667 aaaaand update he fixed it by staying lengthy, (and throwing calculated power shots without throwing too many combinations) while teeing off against an opponent on the cage.
@@UploadsfortheSoul he didn't fix it at all. Jan threw more left hands than right hands. It's like he didn't even try to attack that side of Alex. He didn't do his homework.
One way to find out, it's going to be a banger for sure.
yessir all love to Jan but standing with Alex is a fools game especially with Alex definitely gonna be rehydrating to a heavyweight in the cage definitely going to be around 230 in the cage no doubt
You know it
He is going to be 300 pounds bro!! Actually when he fought Izzy he was 295 pounds so at LHW he is probably going to be 360 pounds at least!!
@@dilarch5957??
@@dilarch5957dawg what 💀
230 seems a tad heavy to me maybe 222-228 somewhere in there. Don’t wanna hydrate too much like McKinney vs bonfim
Okay, mr. Jalin turner is champion worthy, lover
I don't know if my heart can take seeing Jan get slept. He's my favorite fighter, but It is always a real possibility with Poatan. I actually have been thinking the same, about him mixing in the grappling,. However, I have faith in his abilities still. Liczę że go uśpisz Janek! Powodzenia!
0:38 you have to know when these pics where taken, one clearly looks like on the Monday of fight week and the other on the Friday of right week but I agree with time he’s smoothing out
I am from the future...and Can't believe Jan just won🔥🔥
Lucas tracy : Alex pereira is #8 striker in ufc and Jan is #3
also Lucas tracy:...
Jan is 40
Sure and I also agree he can't strike with periera for. too long but what I'm calling out is this guys hypocrisy
I wouldn't be saying Jan is at this much risk if it weren't for his age. He is visibly slowing down and you can just tell by his hand speed and physique. A Prime Jan Blachowicz (the 2029-2021 version) would be able to stand with anyone imo
edit this while you can

man, jan only has 6 years left on his prime! 2029 will suck
Delete your channel
@@aasifbenke4534h is a time leaper
you ranked jan above alex in your top 10 strikers list
yeah, blachowicz in his prime could definetly outstrike pereira, but now he shouldnt risk it, though he still has a chance. And hes speed decreasing doesnt really mean much imo, because hes been always pretty slow and he covers it by his very good timing
jan's striking has always looked great against strikers with no threat of grappling.
If Alex goes in gun blazing, with his HANDS DOWN, his lights will go out. Because Jan’s polish power is just a synonym for yet another example of one punch knockout power.
Alex however does make adjustments in his training camp, so I’m hoping he’s learnt to be more defensive now. For example, he did learn to slip past Izzy’s KO attempts in the second fight with head movement. So it’s all about if Alex I’d as smart defensively as he is, offensively.
Someone pointed out how casual this guy is, and I haven't been able to unsee it since. Most shit takes back to back. I don't like to hate, but you do the same on the regular.
One thing you're forgetting is that Alex is like the biggest sucker for a right hand. Rather it be the straight or cross. Izzy was nailing him with that in their 1st MMA bout. 2nd one you saw what happened.
A straight right hand is the same punch as a cross just different angle
@@denislitvinov8208 .... Ok
well I guess pereira's chin definitely won't be ready for that 3 month turn around now. Thanks, lucas!
Its very interesting how some fighters are the best at a specific thing by miles. What has Jan done in his training over the years that has made him this amazing at the kick game? There is basically no point to even try kicking this guy
Izzy was most definitely not crying in that photo lmaoo
But you put Jan above Alex at the best strikers list?
Jan gonna dominate Alex like he did Izzy LOL.
I just watched the Countdown and he was training the double legs. I think he isn't dumb enough to bang with Alex. He will just hold him on the ground and win via decision or sub.
That’s what y’all said when he fought izzy😂😂😂😂
I think Jan is overall the best striker in the history of the LHW weight class but he isn't the same guy that fought Izzy in 2021.

jan by first round KO
all seriousness jan might be bluffing to set up something peiera doesnt expect
I don't think so, Jan said he'd fight Izzy on the feet and he really did stick to it. He did eventually take him down but that was after beating him in the striking department
Jan can definitely defend the killer hooks of alex, but one point about alex's kicks is that he doesnt move his hips so much when he throws em. They're not that easy to read, if he can set them up, I can see him having the most success with them outta anybody against Jan.
Jan could also take advantage of Alex's low guard and land one of his signature blitz combos
I agreed just watching the different of how Alex put pressure on izzy compare to Jan he didn’t really move izzy without the takedown he would of lost to izzy
😂 no
I'm rooting for alex but i don't see why jan won't just maul him, we've seen what grapplers do to strikers time and time again. Hoping alex will pull it off though
Congrats on your victory jan.
Piera , hill and Jiri be interesting fighting each other.
If it's straight kickboxing I think Alex beats Jan but it's the grappling and the more I think about it it just seems wierd that Alex chose to fight Blachowicz this soon after a bad KO
Defensive grappling is more about strength than skill. Alex might be able to keep it on the feet
@LUCASTRACY, you are underestimating Alex’s leg kicks, the beauty of Alex Pierre's leg kicks comes from nowhere, very hard to check them because you cannot read them...
“No longer has that big old back now it’s just OLD”😅😂
Lucas "banana peel" Tracy cursing fighters whole careers 🤣🤣
John Blachowics shins are made of stone, Jan Blachowics by fourth-round KO
Is this the skin tag with pubic hair attached to it?
Keep up the good work Lucas
I’m going to be standing in front of the TV the whole time holding my sausage while watching this fight.
Great 😖.
Now because of this video, Jan is going to knock Alex out Cory Anderson style.
How many of these do you get wrong before you move on to makeup tutorials lmao.
Just rewatched the Magomed Ankalaev fight and damn did Jan look slow compared to what I remembered
Magomed is pretty quick though. So remember that fighters only look as fast or as slow as who they're fighting. Of course he looked quick against Glover because Glover is old and jan is old too but younger than Glover. And honestly jan was never known for his speed. His timing is what's amazing.
They said that when he fought izzy and he held his own on the feet
Sean tried doing the man dance with Alex and look how that worked out.
Sean has no threat of takedown and has no power. He wins decisions or by tko if he's lucky.
Ah shit ! Here we go again
Jan is so good man. But I agree, Periera is probably gonna hurt him bad
Jan got good leg kicking defence and decent hands and serious power if he hits the button correctly so Alex can’t think he can wash over Jan no problems but the ground game will be tested for sureeeeeeeee
now that hes making a vid on this, jan knocking poatan tf out
Why not? The threat of a takedown makes striking different in mma. Jan is a decent striker.
Jan looking Jacked on embedded
Keep dancing in supermarkets, we all love that.
This isn't a bad take. Even though it's a different combat sport, he was a champ at 205 in Glory and is a bigger guy. Alex at 205 will not be the same as Izzy at 195 or whatever he weighed in at.
Didn’t you put Jan above Pereira in a strikers list?
Congrats to Jan
izzy ain’t cry your just a fan
Didn’t this guy have Jan higher on his top 10 striker list 😭
Alex is my boy, he is truly a legend
Jan has by far the best defense in the LHW division, and the number 1 tool of pereira is his danger/KO power.
cejudo has said jan doesnt have good defense. who should i believe u or him?
@@blackred1032Not cejudo

Holy shit bro!! Youre fucking jacked!
Well, looks like Pereira's legs are going to get chopped down swiftly by Jan, and set a new striking record on him now. Thanks Lucas, my money is always safe betting against you ❤
I picked Jan to win bro
@lucastfitness7299 I thought the same before this vid, just like to feed into the meme 😊
Alex will be afraid of being taken down, so he will be much more open
Im shredding in 6days
I think the opposite, Jan has a good chance of winning on the feet

this also the same guy that said charles couldn’t do it😬
Anyone has a punchers chance I look at every fight 50/50 regardless no matter the fighter
Congratulations to Paddy Pimblett
Tracy is a bad take machine. I love this guy lol. he compares a picture with low lighting to a picture with decent lighting and talks about it as a "decline" when he's a gym bro and us gym bros know the power of lighting
I think it's intentional and that's his niche

we can say jan should expect alex left hook and look to counter then KO pereira. who knows maybe jan will play possum too
I think hes to Slow to do that
Izzys speed is what got him that win cuz he threw inbetween 2 shots from alex
Bit of a harsh claim considering Jan out struck Adesanya in every round when they fought.
Fuck bro, this guy just killed Jan’s last shot at a lightweight title fight with one of his predictions of doom.
I had Jan winning too, but after your prediction, I have to bet Pereira.
Jan is underrated
Yes agree my fellow Albino brethren

Lmao he is going to take Alex down he isn’t going to say I’m going to go in there an just take him down 😂
Someone’s gonna get knocked out, and you know, since you said Alex would win, it's a no-brainer that Jan's gonna hit him with that signature Polish power.
