My wheels don't want to slide since they are 90mm soft wheels. But I found a trick to actually getting them to slide. When you are practicing the parallel stop, bend your dominant foot out in front like you're doing a sitting side stretch while your other leg is bent 90+ degrees for support. Do this at lower speeds first and then progressively get faster and faster. This is how I'm learning and I hope this helps you guys
You wrote this 2 years ago so the chances of a reply are slim. I just bought a 4x90mm set up with 85A wheels. I am trying to get this kind of stopping power and hoping I can.
Pretty much at least 84A hardness. You can do it with softer wheels too, but you really have to force the angle with the ground. Soft wheels have a tendency to grip better so it is quite hard to slide with them. They also wear a lot faster during any type of slide. Even T stop (which is in fact a slide).
Just keep in mind that you can't do this on any type of asphalt, you need to be going at a decent speed and you need harder wheels....but i feel the asphalt aspect often goes unmentioned and if you do this on uneven asphalt you're in for quite a surprise lol
Of course you can perform parallel slides on asphalt. Please don't misinform people. It's even asphalt in the video; it's worn down. You are correct that one needs a decent amount of speed to break friction.
I know I should put the balance between the legs....but.....I do not know should I put more weight to the back skate or to the front skate.........I especially have problem when training on the opposite side. I ma okay doing this with facing to left (right leg in the front), but I am week doing this when facing right (left leg in the front). So....I would like to have some more detailed explanation on the waist and hip force transfer method so I can have better idea how to do it on reverse side.......can you help me?
to AuthenticRollerblade_ just to be sure, by saying"back wheels initiate a slide" you mean back wheel of both skates or all wheels of Your back skate? thanks!
whats your opinion about 80/80mm originally wheels of twister 80?I find them really soft and i cant shuffle stop is it because I cant slide yet..and I need more practice? or because of the wheels? I love urban skating but i find difficult situations in the streets and i cant stop sometimes fast with T stop,i ve felt many times.Tnx
probably any wheels but I slide easier on harder wheels... also lets you slide more if they are harder and more worn out also, rockering your wheels makes the slide easier and longer...
Karolis Zubavicius Your wheels are OK. I've learned it with 84A, but wheels were worn out. Then I switched to Matter Zafiro wheels - very good. I heard that gyro f2r 85A are also good for street skating, slides etc.
Greg always makes those slides look easy.
This is parallel slide
Yes, also know to some as a parallel slide
Greg calls it a shuffle, so we called it a shuffle too.
i know it as paralel slide but if Greg says its called shuffle then its called shuffle 😂

You read my mind. I'm not sure why they're calling it a "shuffle stop".
It is a Rollerblade Fusion 84 GM model.

Inline Downhill Vancouver
Do you even realize he is talking about various types of asphalt and not just asphalt
A high cuff boot on the stiffer side works best.
Thanks!
Those are the new Rollerblade Hydrogen wheels! Coming soon to a shop near you
spoil us with some new Greg content. the best in my books
Use t/drag to slow down and only execute parallel slide to fully stop after slowed considerably otherwise be ready for unexpected results
Спасибо за ваши видео! (:
пожалуйста!
They are the new Rollerblade Hydrogen wheels
This is very impressive!

No. Both skates are basically the same accept the colors
how hard do the wheels have to be to do this, or can you do it with any if your skilled enough?
São Paulo 🇧🇷😍
Is this not very bad for my wheels! I will buy the Twister X but i don't want to need every mounth new wheels !!! 🤔🤔🤔
I just bought a Rollerblade Fusion 84, but it is not GM :( Couldn't find it here in Venezuela. Is there much difference? Thanks
Greg let s go for a skating date:))))

What are those wheels? Gyro? Hyper etc?
porra isso parece facil mas eh dificil pra kcete! so consigo o POWERSLIDE
any type of inline skates?
Is the narrator the owner of yt channel "truthmediarevolution?" Voice sounds so similar ...
roll model?
Monika Hatinová ohh, dating invitations here, we should really learn this trick guys, lol :)))
is it possible to do it on different grounds or is it only doable in a smooth ground?
Excuse me, what is the main difference between this kind of stop and the so called "hockey stop" ?
None and it's called a parallel slide.
I doubt those are rolleblade wheels...
are these wheels soft or hard??
My guess is that they are hard. If they were soft they would grip the surface too well so sliding would be hard + they would wear down too fast.
Around 85a is what you want, but feel free to try different types of wheels.
i think it's atom one
p.s this will fuck ur tires up -_-
so? rather mess up my tires than loose some teeth.
Not guaranteed with this stop. Too steep of an angle and you grind on your trucks and fall, mostly on your hip or stomach.
I'm having a hard time with this, maybe mainly because it is scary for a beginner, and maybe I need more speed, it won't slide like that for me.
Im falling every time ,its very hard.Maybe becouse of my wheels 84A?
