- This is an intro to the PSB Alpha AM3 and AM5. This is a more budget friendly line of active speakers. I think you're going to like these if you are looking for a less expensive option.

Your really speaking to me heavy here Matt…almost 30 just bought my first house about a year ago…been trying to add these og touches where I can. Thanks for the lower price point stuff as well. I think you’ve sold me on these 100-%
You’re
@@ErnstDetailing that’s what I said
Had a set of PSB's headphones for years. Love the things. Cheers for covering a brand not usually given much attention.
I'm in love with my PSB speakers. Nobody that I know has heard of PSB, I'm glad you're showcasing the brand.
Loving these info style videos in the new studio.
Finally somebody addresses the compression ratio on the output quality. You can only suck so much through a straw. Appreciate the knowledge.
Love the new studio, congrats
Hey Matt. Great video as Always. I'm just wondering what music you were playing at the end? Thanks again for the Great Videos. Watching here from Toronto Canada 😲😎👍
When working on my motorcycles in the garage music is a MUST
Cold beer and a lack of urgency are my 'must'. Another OG guy that has motorcycles is worth a comment. Good day, Sir.
Yup, this is exactly what I was looking for. I think this will make for a great Christmas gift to myself haha.
Bought a pair of AM5's about 6 months ago for my 12×20 shed, prior to this video. You are absolutely correct in your analysis in that they are incredible. I compared them head to head with Kanto and Fluace and they blew them away. Their bass is awesome but I added an ELAC sub since. I don't need anything more for my application.
Now we just need to get Chris on board with Canada lol. Closing in on OG Canada!💪🏽
Excelente info! but seriously you'll pick up the P5's or the RP-150M Klips's for a surrond back system???🤔
I just turned 30, bought my first house, and bought these as soon as I came out of escrow!
What do you think about Martin Logan?
How would this compare to the dynaudio music 7 or music 5?
Would you recommend the Am3 as Sterio Monitors in a small home studio? I don't have room for something big and currently run on headphones only.. thanks in advance
They would work well there for that.
These seem like a nice option. Would love to hear your opinion on CANTON
Wouldn't the Bluesound Powernode with the P5 be a better setup than Bluesound node with the AM5 for similar price?
It would be nice to have the Powernode/P5 setup if you see yourself upgrading to Evoke 20s or the likes in the future.
Dynaudio Xeo 10 or the AM5?
Would the AM3 be suitable for PC speakers? I'm thinking connect them via optical from my PC.

@@LouisMartinJr haha. Jumped the gun!
@@brando123b - I got you, bro 😂
Humble Matty is fun to watch haha
im a big Paradigm fan (Paradigm Tributes). There are quite a few very good Canadian speaker / Audio companies
When are you planning Legacy Audio and Magico review ?
The new Paradigm Founder series is really good. Check it out.
@@JuanLega thanks will demo at some point, price getting scary
I am a big fan of Paradigm speakers as well. Still use my 30 year old 9SE mains, 300CC center as part of my main set up, and 3SEs in my office. Still sound fantastic.
Another great Canadian company.
PSB punch above their weight class for sure
Can't believe your not pushing the Kanto YU6 in matte grey. Better price, more watts, 1 inch silk dome tweeter, come in multiple colors and look a lot cleaner!
They are too bright
Not good for electronic music
You mentioned everything except if they sound any better than these.
KEF LS50 wireless II are amazing....
I pair them with a REL T9X in my living room. You are absolutely correct they are amazing but my PSB setup cost less than 1/5 of the KEF
Those are literally 4 times more expensive than these.
My man Matt.
We make good potatoes too
are they active spud's
@@valvemonky4734 They are very active here in my house.Lots of energy for the whole day.
Very interesting! Might pull the trigger on deez.
These speakers are nice, but I'll take my powered Atom Audio speakers any day over these. Plug in a Belkin Airplay adapter or a bluetooth adapter if you aren't on Apple gear... and you can stream right to them with no amp needed.
Too bad no sound demo.
Ooof. You could have spent 10 minutes researching the history of PSB Alpha speakers and avoided all the talk about how "cheap" these are. They're meant to be speakers that punch way above their weight and price point. For somebody selling audio gear, you would do much better if you educated yourself on the history of brands like PSB and people like Paul Barton.
while i am not an audiophile, this series are CRAP, even i can hear that the woofer and the tweeter is not in phase very low end Hi-Fi
what i like is that are neutral sounding... i was considering the AM3 as for near fild mini monitors, but the problem with the phase makes the speaker a good for nothing in the Hi-Fi world, even the JVC SP-UX7000 are vastly superior
Funny how you're the only person I've seen make such an "observation".
@@nickthaskater yes i do actually have the P3s, very hard to drive speakers (100W per channel amp desired), i would not say are crap, i actually like the warm sound just not to be used as near field monitors ('cause they are crap for that)....
once you stress the things is where they shine, but very mediocre at low levels of volume so much detail loss
