  • The sound the P3/P5 speakers produce is remarkable, and for how inexpensive they are, I’d highly suggest purchasing them if you’re looking to add quality sound to your garage.

I bought these speakers for Christmas 2023, and you are spot on. Just as you said, speakers are subjective. Everyone has a sound signature preference. I just don't like metal domed tweeters. For my ears Klipsch may be fine for a two hour movie audio, but for all day music, i would be exhausted. I probably have the same preference in sound as you do. When i hooked up the P5, i smiled. for the money spent, i spent 299.00 for P5 and 179.00 for P3. You can tell the build quality is relative to their price, but what a pleasing sound for aluminium tweeters. You are right about Dynaudio. When you get to that point in life and can afford them and you say i have earned this, you move up to Dynaudio. The Olympus of speakers.

I currently have more speakers than I have places for in my house / office / garage… and I STILL want to buy these and experience them.

Ferrofluid is a metal infused magnetic oil that lubricates and cools the tweeter coil as it moves in and out. It sits in the groove of the tweeter magnet.

I bought a pair of PS3 speakers, recommended by a friend. Extremely surprised how deep these 4" woofers go and the tweeter was not fatiguing at all. At $219.00 on Amazon.

The audio for this video has a deep hum very low down in the frequency range. It's almost like a muffled air compressor in another room is running constantly. I have not heard this on any other OG video going back a few years. Hopefully someone can look into it. Odd mic setup maybe?
    Cheers!

Money no object you would run Trinnov’s processor and amp in your home theater, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

something that is needed to say is that these series of peakers does not have drivers properly alagnment nor in phase.... one can just asume this for the price
so it might sound absurd they do not do well as near field monitors (they are descent but just that)
the sound presentation is good, though

PSB P5 over Dynaudio Emit 10?

Hmmm... That's a tough one. I think the PSB may sound a little better, but the Emit is a much nicer speaker. I think I'd still take the emit.

I have been in the audio hobby for a long time and have tried setups both modern and vintage. At this price point, vintage speakers are a much better value. Speakers are like engines, there is no replacement for displacement. Audio reproduction has been a refinished art since the 70s, the $$$ modern audiophile systems are like jewelry for the rich, but don't necessarily sound any better than things engineers from decades ago figured out.
Get some KEF 103.2s and a vintage Sony receiver or integrated amp and you'll have a system that will smoke that PSB stuff for under $1k. This is all for 2-channel music listening, surround sound/home theater is a different story.

I have several pairs of them I love them so much would highly recommend maybe its setup poorly, just sayin someone doesn't become world renowned for designing prolific speakers and not know how to make great speakers
