  • Hey everyone! In this tutorial we will look at an amazing app called Stop Motion Studio. This app is available across multiple devices - in this demonstration I will be using an Ipad to shoot a small animation clip by using a reference video to use as a guide to help animate the figurine.

I'm constantly amazed with what I'm able to do with my iPad. The USED 3-CCD analog SD camcorder that I bought in 1997 to shoot stop motion cost me quite a bit more than I paid for my 2020 iPad Pro... not to mention the price of the Amiga 3000 with video frame buffer card and all the hard drives and monitors I needed back then. And that was just for frame capture! All my editing was done on a Windows PC in Premiere 4. Had to have been at least $7500 worth of gear. I found your channel because I'm interested in learning Nomad Sculpt and I've been impressed with the rest of your content as well, thanks for giving back to the community! Also, great choice in the Star Trek Mego figures, I'm a huge fan myself. 🖖

Much faster process now eh? It sounds like you look back at your original workflow fondly :) a good friend of mine also made stop motion animation films shot in film. A lengthy process, but a rewarding one.
Thank you for your kindness and have fun experimenting with these cool apps!

I’ve used this myself. I was impressed enough that I bought it for my son….he spends hours every night making movies….about school…

MEGO is definitely safer to call an action figure. Haha

Also, the new figures have a bandless body and can hold a pose much better.
