  • I found vintage StereoPhonic partially working Garrard 2025tc record player and decided to take it apart, relubricate and get it back into the working order.

      Thank you! Yes, I have restored several of them so far and the process has been fairly the same on the 70s record players. I now tend to use more lithium grease vs 3 in 1 oil, as oil has a very strong smell. Usually the hardest part for me is to take it apart so I can get to all the parts.

    1:09: None of them do that I've had. Even after disassemble and lubing, still won't. I've tried 4 times to find the problem with no result. I think these are pretty much disposable after they stop working. All my other brands work great after restoration. Something about Gararrds that don't want to work right.

      @chass5438 It is the cam on the bottom side that needs to cleaned and or heated so it moves freely. Search here for the video "How to Service your Garrard turntable. Model 3000, Lab 40, AT-6, 6000 jordan pier-the cam has to be loose on the top and bottom side - the cuprit is on the bottom, I just finished one now.

    great vid......... HELP....... I have a Garrad 2025t but the speed selector is broken. after taking it apart the speed is calibrated incorrectly (plays 45rpm when pointing at 33 etc.) it also cannot play 78 rpm which is frustrating as the speed selector lever is already at the final position. I have tried fixing it but have not been successful

    I have a 2025tc that was not working when I received it. I found a small bent up wire in the bottom of cabinet. I found that the straight end goes up into the back of the arm and connect to something below. If you still have the 2025 and you see the metal piece I am talking about would it be possible to send me a photo of where it connect on a lower arm? (Part number 156 , overload spring)

    Hi, I have a garrard 2025TC with a visible loose spring wondering if I could bother you with some questions about it?

  • @audrey-annelachapelle1237

    Hello can you tell me what you use to lubricate it?

    • @vinyldreams4823
      @vinyldreams4823  Před 3 lety

      I have used 3-In-One Oil
      on metal parts at the bottom and white lithium grease on the top gears. 3-in-one oil smells bad though, be careful with it if you want to use it.

    those work similar to a bsr , have you worked on one of those

    • @vinyldreams4823
      @vinyldreams4823  Před 3 lety

      Yes, they are similar and have the same issue of lubricant turning into glue with time. I have never worked on BSR before, but I've read that the process is similar.
