The latter is, I believe, a great addition to the game, however, it has been very difficult for newer players to grasp. So in this video, I'm gonna break down exactly how Proficiency and Expertise work in The Division 2

I started playing div 2 about 3 weeks ago and wow there is so much to learn and grind for it’s insane. I’m rather disappointed with how much of a disadvantage new players are at without a maxed out watch and expertise level.

@@androidoszpsz5873 I'm a week in playing and feel like you may not be one of the players that come through when you call for backup then carry you and destroy everyone for you and at the end of the mission drop you a bunch of high level gear and weapons for you to pickup....you more like "grind for it like everybody else bitch" 🤣🤣
I would beg to differ. Starting fresh now will help you gaining proficiency passively by just playing and not even realising yo uare already leveling it.
The game is a nightmare for a new solo player from level 5 - 30 you really need help from other players just to walk down the street till you gear level increases.

The armor expertise definitely makes a difference in PVP!
One thing I hate about the "donate all junk" is that a lot can be wasted. If you have items that are purple or items that are already proficient marked as junk, they disappear from you inventory and it gains you nothing. They're just gone for nothing. I wish they'd change that. So, when marking your junk, be careful not to mark anything that is already proficient or anything that can't be powered up. You're just throwing it away. Dismantle it or sell it.
I think they fixed that now because Inuse the donate junk option all the time and all the proficient gear stays in the inventory marked as junk

Excellent video. I have a question. What is the fastest way you have leveled a gun? There's guns I've never used at any point.
Guns are hard to level up by using them. So for weapons you never use, I’d recommend donating materials, in particular, printer filament. An easy way to farm printer filament is by doing countdown and setting mods to your target loot. Break them down and they’ll give you 6 printer filament per mod

How do you level up skills, sheild, turrent etc.
Extremely well described. A question, is it more efficient to equip only one unproficient item so that all the kill XP gets assigned to it or several and the kill XP gets shared to them all, or does it not work that way? All I've got left to make proficient are most of my skills, most exotics (the useless ones that is), and a few rare weapons. Using printer filament is taking an eternity and very, very expensive using shd points to but currency then buying skill attachments etc. 2.25m credits per proficiency level I think.
It’s better to equip as many unproficient items as possible. Each will gain XP irrespective of the rest of your build. Recently I’ve been running a lot of floor 10 on challenging with nearly all the directives. It’s very easy, so I can equip a build with random gear and skills that aren’t proficient, it’s fast, it drops a lot of gear that I can crush and donate the mats for providence, and I can levels fast - and since I have 4 characters, every level actually = 4 SHD points
@@aBL1NDnoob thanks for that. I'm on it. I must be missing something though, why do extra characters give you more shd points? The game has got to the point for me that getting to 20 is the only challenge.
Google User when you level up and gain an SHD point on one character, that point also goes to your other level 40 characters.

Excellent video! I now know what I’m going to level up. However, I am having a problem with my Heartbreaker build. Since the nerf, I wanted to change one piece (my backpack) from blue to red. When I put on that backpack, I don’t get the stacks. Do I need to have 4 blues in order for it work? Or all red or something? I’m stumped. Any suggestions?
Personally, I’m not a big fan of HB, but I’ve heard it has issues with building stacks. When that happens, take off a piece of HB, then put it back on and it should work. There’s no requirement for the number of blue or red cores HB needs to build stacks
HB became good for pve only, assuming that you are a pvp player.

Trying to understand how the donation versus efficiency works, example if a gun is proficient and you donate it it doesn’t give you anything towards the efficiency, it only gives you an increase in material used upgrade. I guess the question is in my better off, running my proficient billsinstead of trying to get everything proficient
so basically, to level up something i have to use it until i get to the right expertice lvl, and then use another piece of the same gear to lvl it up? or does the second part not matter?
For a brand set, or gear set, the second part doesn't matter. But, equipping two pieces of gear at the same time will level it up faster. Just keep in mind, named items do not count towards brand sets. they are unique and have to be leveled up on their own
Can you tell me what bonus you get after made full specialisation? Minigun..
Are you talking about completing the field research? I believe you get the blueprint for the named Sleipner LMG
What the name of resource shaped like a flag? It is required for level six and above.
My gear set says it's proficient but when I try to upgrade it says my expertise level is insufficient, how do I level up my expertise level??

Definitely right for expertise. Armor isn’t worth maxing out past expertise 11. But you’ll need to level up the proficiency of all your gear to be able to increase your expertise. Also, some skills gain pretty significant boosts from expertise

So what if you maxed out all your weapons proficiency and your stuck at a expertise level. Im at 6 and it looks like i will cap out by 13 expertise level

Unfortunately, epecially for weapons, it takes a while to get your gear proficient. It's the basis of this game. Grind, grind, grind. Really good game, but you've got to really enjoy repitition to fully enjoy it

Thanks for such clear info - one question - is deconstructing the same as donating ?? i fear i have deconstructed too much rather than donating to increase my expertise levels - no wonder im making no progress !
Deconstructing and donating are different. With deconstructing, you just get materials. What you do with those materials is up to you. You can use them for recalibrating, crafting, projects, whatever. Donating can be done with gear that is not yet proficient. For example, if my Wyvern is not proficient and I pick up some wyvern loot that I don’t want, I can go to the optimization table and donate them (easiest if you mark them as junk and just select “donate all junk”. Donating the wyvern pieces will give me points towards my wyvern profile cut ranking. Does this make sense?

@@geoffbucks5803 a good way to increase your expertise, is every week, check all the vendors. If any of them are selling items that you don’t have proficient, buy as many as you need to donate and get proficient. This way verrrry effective for me until I got to level 14. Also, you can craft items and donate them if they aren’t proficient. It use to be half a proficiency level per donated item, but I think they may have nerfed it recently

I know your primarily a PvP player, what are your thoughts on this Expertise stuff?
I think it was a cool idea. But at the same time, it’s flawed. PvE was already pretty easy, and with expertise, it’s only gonna get easier. They should’ve added more legendaries or harder content. Expertise has no place in pvp. There is already a huge gap between new players and experienced players in pvp. Expertise is only gonna widen that gap. But, if massive had disabled expertise in pvp ( which I think they should have), the PvP community probably would have cried because PvE got another big update with nothing for PvP. So I get why they had to put it in pvp as well. Just kinda sucks for the inexperienced/casual players

How do I level up my honey Badger when it won't let me donate any materials? Just says proficient and now I can't do anything else with it.
You need to click on the honey badger then select a specific honey badger to level up. Also, what expertise level are you?

I liked the game and bought dlc and everything. But basically once you finish all you gotta do is grind proficiency…. Lost interest in game. Sad, really liked it.

What's the best way to make your specializations proficient
For me, I mostly use sharpshooter. So just having it equipped leveled it up for me. But if you use a variety of specializations, this will be harder. In that case, donating printer filament is never a bad idea.

Hey! I don.t understand, why only a few of the pieces equipped get proficieny points?! What it.s the sistem? I don't get it! 🤔
For proficiency, the entire set gets the points (gear set, brand set, weapon type, skill), but for expertise, it’s only individual pieces get leveled up. So I could have 2 FAMAS, if I level up the expertise for one, the other FAMAS will not get the points. Does this help?

This doesn't make sense. You are at 75/344 and Expertise 7. I am at 78/344 and only Expertise 5. Any idea's what's going on?
Probably has to do with the incorrect amount of XP that was being rewarded for enemy kills. I was rolled back from expertise 8 to 5 after they fixed it
Thank you! I am not fan of this game, the whole point of leveling up things is to get an edge on the game. So farming is close to pointless. The game gets boring fast, half of the finished game is locked behind a pay wall expansion and vendors are useless. Would be nice to have a zombies mode (since rainbow six seige had a zombies mode) but my intuition tells me massive would somehow make that boring or tedious and unfun.
Expertise level all you have to do is create new character put all resources on your expertise level delete character and start a new character rinse and repeat that how I finish leveling up exotics are different have to farm for more exotic components to level up all exotics 🤔🤨

sorry about that. the whole point of leveling everything up is to become more powerful. Your guns will hit harder, you will get more armor (tankier), your specialization weapons will be stronger, and skills will become more effective

This is my issue with the game. As much as I love it for a casual gamer, like myself, it’s far too complicated.
Maybe some in game tutorials to explain these things would be useful, so people didn’t need to come to CZcams to learn how to use it

You may need to donate them one at a time. I remember there used to be a glitch with the donate all button

@@aBL1NDnoob I play on Playstation which the button is Square for "Donate all Junk" which I would assume would be anything I would mark as "junk" in my inventory. I have held down the button and tapped i to be sure, and the items disappear from my inventory ,but no number changes anywhere. except for the number of items in my inventory.

I may be misunderstanding, but: make sure you’re checking the right section. For example, look under kneepads as opposed to overlord armaments for the named Fox’s prayers. Let me know if this isn’t the issue and I’ll try and help again

Bro, the background music is way too prominent. It’s hard to a risky concentrate on anything you’re saying.

This shii is still confusing asf why they change the system and make it more difficult and complex i love the game still but I hate this part of the loot system or upgrading system
I hear ya. It’s far from straight forward. But tbh, it’s not required, so if you don’t wanna do it, nothing is forcing you to. In PvP, you’ll miss out a bit, but in PvE, you’ll be just fine.
