  • In todays video we compare the range of the electron cycles 60v 63ah battery to the stock 32ah battery in a Surron! This includes the top speed test in MPH and important specs!
    This battery is a BEAST! I am thoroughly impressed, being able to do up to 60 miles on a charge whilst doing a top speed of over 60mph on a heavy bike!

    Hi again, just wondering if you got the battery usage chart that you used a couple of times on the video from electron cycles, ive just been for my first trail ride using the 67v 65ah mararton battery on my surron, fully charged it shows 74v and fully discharged is 54v, half empty is 67v, this is from electron, i managed to get almost 40 miles out of it yesterday with 68v showing left working on that the battery should be capable of over 80 mile range, im running a standard controller at the moment but the battery has given the bike more low down torque and more top speed, im very happy with it but a percentage usage would be helpful, cheers Russ.

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Před rokem

      Hey Russ!
      That sounds great! I had no idea you could get a 74v fully charged 67v battery in the UK!
      I used the battery % chart I found on google, I searched 60v battery % chart! I just had a look but there arent any for the 67v batteries. Half the voltage use doesn’t mean half the battery left as it is disproportionate! I think 68v would equate to around 48% as youll find after 67v your battery will drain quicker than it did when it had more charge!
      67v! What a game changer though!!
      So you do get a bit of voltage sag as the charge level drops meaning your bike will not accelerate as quickly, this also means that once you go past 50% the charge level will decrease quicker!
      To be safe I would say 65-70 miles is realistic on stock power levels, this will drop to around 45/50 miles if you go up to 10+KW! ( upgraded controllers are slightly more efficient )
      I’ve managed 48 miles out of my 60v 63ah at 12kw with approx 25% charge left which I use as a safety buffer!
      I’m glad youre enjoying your upgraded battery! Ride on! 🤙🏻

    Hey guys. I’m buying a Talaria sting r mx4 soon that comes with a 60v 45ah battery. The range I would get on sport mode is about 20 miles with the throttle pinned. If I bought a 60v 65ah battery for it would I get much of an increase b in range? How much roughly? Thanks

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I’ve been out with a few guys on the stock STING R MX4 Batteries the increase in ah between mx3 and mx4 means no additional range as the 15% increase in battery capacity is made useless by the extra 30% power the bike has.
      I go out and film these videos and can do 50/60 miles on a charge, its usually at the 25 mile mark the stock sting R is dead and I still have 30 miles or so left in the 65ah! Remember the stock batteries show 0% left when they are at 54v. With an aftermarket battery you can go down to 48v before its empty, to compare them both here is a simple visual aid :
      60v 65ah gives you 4020wh of usable range
      60v 45ah stock gives you 1620wh of usable range.

    Hi,I've watched a couple of your videos recently, I also have a 4 year old surron that's totally stock other than the belt drive conversion, it has the cable throttle on it and I've found it is more controllable at lower speeds down to 2mph excellent for trail ridding which is what I use it for, I have fitted a surron electronic throttle on it in the past but it felt like a switch, I couldn't go at lower speeds on technical stuff, it would only work down to about 10mph, I have the KO nano controller to fit and I'm about to buy the electron cycles 60v 65ah marathon battery ,I was just wondering if you've sorted the throttle response on your talaria yet or has it got any better, I'm also testing the new 8kw talaria sting r this week so possibly I might swap the surron for a talaria and get an electron battery for that, I only use my bike for ridding local trails so I'm after a bike that's capable of doing both technical and not to fast routes but I want as long a ride time as possible, cheers Russ.

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Před rokem +1

      Hi Russ! Firstly, thanks for watching!
      So the orange surron had a cable throttle which I switched out for the 2022 electric throttle, I only switched it out due to the cable throttle becoming real stiff and worn otherwise I’d still be running it as I loved the way it felt!
      To answer your question regarding the KO Nano - No, I still have some throttle hang and it doesn’t feel natural. KO will tell you they can fix it and ‘tune it out’ but after 3 full sessions and weeks of back and forth they couldn’t fix it and just bump up your regen braking to combat it.
      I am at 11Kw at the moment but when I go down to 8kw throttle issues are not as noticeable. I think if you run a lower power you will be okay but then at that power you may as well have the new Talaria R and change just the battery…!
      In regards to the electron cycles 60v65ah, that battery looks great and im sure youll love it, i have the 63ah version personally as it fit in my talaria without modifying the battery lid hinges!
      Cheers! 👍🏻

      So i have the stock motor on my talaria, if you motor is not hot to the touch your sensor inside the motor may be bad? The hall sensor, its an easy replacement, it could be giving the BAC the wrong readings.
      I did a couple of times have a motor temperature warning on the talaria when I set the DC Amps over 165 and would cut out. But the error code was just generic and the real reason was that the battery BMS was cutting it out as It was too much power! Maybe try lowering your amps! This battery wants to be around 165A 560 phase amps max!
      🤞 hope this helps. Try lowering the power firstly though!

    Have my Sur Ron X for almost a month now. I have the 2023 version with the 40AH battery which is really good. But Im startin to think about upgrading to a 60v 65ah long range battery because of range and I dont like the power drop below like 80% on the original Battery. • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Před 10 měsíci

      So a direct swap 60v65ah battery would be great! Its heavier though by a LOT so the extra weight would mean that you are very unlikely to get any top speed increase without upgrading the controller too! Infact it could make it 1mph or so slower! I know companies claim to increase top speed without changing the controller but for me the controller is the only thing which would have increased it!

      @@stingyrogerr sorry for ur time I just watched u a lot and never thought u would answer if I commented but how fast does 60v and 65ah battery get u without all the others and how much did u spend to upgrade to 72volt and what did u get like the brand Because I got a new controller and it stopped working

      @stingyrogerr  Před 8 měsíci

      @Pawnstarclips12 all batteries are different and can only make as much power as the BMS will allow. So you would have to ask your manufacturer of battery, in general terms anything over 12kw will be able to hit 70mph with correct gearing, you should be able to hit 60mph with 9.5kw with correct tuning.

    Pieces of wood and expanding foam? I’ve opened mine and not seen anything a like ?🤔

      Maybe it was just KO spreading propaganda but it was not just them reporting it. They had photos on facebook and discord claiming it was their competition with bits of wood ect inside! The images were on the KO-Portal on FB 👍🏻👍🏻

      We have three buddies with EBMX 72v 45ah batteries - not only are they not pushing the KW they claim - but they have swolen completely on all sides so they no longer fit inside the bike. I think the fact they are made from pouch cells should put people off!
      If you check out my video from a few weeks back : czcams.com/video/-huD7FDuSog/video.htmlsi=oF0YHvlIIDUABfyr
      If you go to about half way you will see that we drag raced our bikes vs the EBMX controller and Battery combo set to 15kw.
      Our bikes were only set to 13kw and 14kw and 250 less phase amps and completely dusted them. The people who own the bikes were upset and angry with the ebmx setup as it gave them nothing but issues and we captured these issues on camera where the bikes would stop working for hours but due to these individuals being involved in a deal with and selling EBMX products asked me not to put that part into the video. They were cursing and swearing at their controller and batteries then still try selling them onto other customers 🤣 we no longer ride with these guys and their graphics will be removed from our bike in favour of a new company called race shop design graphics which are better and cost less and have better business morals.
      Not every battery is the same, stay sensible on your KW choice and your battery might not swell up. Best of luck any upgrade is going to feel damn sweet!!
