Love this recipe!!! Just made 4 of them for breakfast! Lol. Instead of discarding that excess liquid, what I did was put about 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour to the mixture to absorb the excess liquid, I want to keep the flavors inside the filling. I don't want to get rid of them, since the cabbage has water in it. The flour help keep the flavors inside.
Pork egg rolls [my favorite] are now about 3.25 each at my local take out. I'll be making them at home from now on. I'll use your recipe and trade out the ground chicken for ground sausage. Using the packaged cabbage blend makes it so easy. Thanks so much!

I have made a lot of Chinese food in my time. I use ground pork, canned shrimp, celery, and bean sprouts. I even make tamales.
Now that's one thing I haven't made yet, and that is tamales. I love them.

Looks soooo good Catherine!!! Only one thing that troubles me...i am not a fan of deep frying, it scares me!!! Dangerous...I'm going to brush my egg rolls with olive oil and bake them in the oven....safer and easier....and i think maybe a little healthier??
Just thought I'd mention that for others who aren't fans of deep frying as well, for whatever reason. Lol

Ooh, these look so good! I love any kind of egg rolls but since my go-to frozen ones have dropped in quality, this makes me think I'll just make 'em myself from now on! Do you think I could make them ahead and freeze them?
Once they are cooked you can freeze them tightly wrapped. Then you can heat them up in the oven. Thanks so much for enjoying the show. 😊
