They did that because that technique dont work.....think about it you are pulling the string on both ends trying to work that loop over the lock or what ever it's called well anyway as your setting it the loop is getting smaller by the time you get it in position the loop is probably to small and if you get it in place it's just going to slip up with out unlocking the door

Daniel Laurentiu 100% sure. As I said most new modern cars don't have those buttons (my VW doesn't). Secondly the string won't unlock the steering lock. Thirdly the string does t have a chip embedded in it that has to match the one in the car.
I'm not saying cars can't be stolen - even modern ones. But not like this. I'm guessing this is in the USA - where cars are not as modern as the rest of the world.
Most car thefts on modern cars are done by cloning the signal when a car is opened and started. A simple thing to do - apart from the recording device has to be close to the chip embedded on the key - 10m (approx).
However, many manufacturers have chips that auto flip the code at random and after a random number of lock/unlock cycles.
So, in summary - the string don't work on well designed vehicles ;-)
I think professional car thieves generally use a "slim-jim" and an ignition punch to beat most car locks. As far as alarms, I'm not sure how they would do that. But, they obviously have a method that works because shitloads of cars get stolen in the U.S. every day. A good thief can get away with your wheels in a minute or less.
for a very well designed vehicle the thief wil have a lot of trouble trying to steal it, but what about a cheaper vehicle or if the thief is so damn good, what can you do? maybe install a gps tracker and just in case you can have it hidden.
At the end of the day, if someone wants you car, they would use physical means a car lift and truck - then worry about security devices fitted - similar to the way thieves steal whole ATM's, using plant equipment.

Because his method could not work, not enough friction for the string to hold onto the door pin (or latch or whatever the fuck it's called), so they had someone inside the car, waiting for the right moment to open the door from the inside.

2012isRonPaul My old 90's Nissan key will open up other vehicles from the same era, it takes a little wiggling in the keyhole but usually less than 30 seconds. A CRX, Accord, a late 80's Toyota hatchback, and my old boss's full-size Chevy pickup. Not to break into their cars, these were my buds that had locked their keys in their cars. I'm not sayin, just sayin. The Nissan "masterkey" doesn't really work with late-model vehicles though

This happens on almost all videos now regardless of who made it. It appears to show up towards the end of each video. It appears to be a preview of other videos. Shows up whether you have autoplay turned on or off. Also, happens in portrait and landscape mode. Have sent help request to CZcams.

For those wondering. This does work as long as you have the knob on top of your door. I've used this method myself.

I think the rubber seals in the door would give you a hard time doing this. Also I imagine it would hard to keep that loop in the string from closing while pulling the string down to the lock rod.

Ive used this method countless times and its easy. If you stand back and try to figure out all these reasons it wont work when you could have already done it and had your door unlocked.

If you tap the screen to enable the play/pause and back/forward buttons, you can actually see the video without the advertising at the end. The screen is just dimmed because the play buttons are primary on the screen. (Using an iPad).

You might have to adjust the size of the loop depending on the thickness of the door so it catches the lock peg.
Could you have maybe used a black background when you were tying that not buddy? Or blue or green.....anything but the exact same color as the string or whatever you’re tying

This will only work on the cars that have the lock sticking up outta the door panel. Like maybe the rear doors on Ford but most cars locks are by the handle on the side. Good luck getting that string down there

Not a chance on certain cars. A Volvo for example, when it's lock you can't even pull the knobs up because it is electronically hold the knobs. It's impossible to lift it up even with your hand......
No ways will this work. First the weatherstripping would stop you from getting the cord in the car, next the slip knot would never make it to the lock without coming tied

Legit, this worked on my 2008 Dodge Magnum. Had to pry the corner of the door so it's bent slighly, took an hour, but it worked.

Ok. Great idea but how do you unlock a vehical with automatic locks.
You take a bath towel and a pretty heavy rock, next you place the towel on a window of your car, and you break the glass with the rock
+Kwada If you ever have to break a car window use something closer to a sparkplug fragment or another type of hard ceramic by throwing it at the window as hard as you can. 1 gram of ceramic is better than a 1 lb stone. I wouldn't recommend it unless you a) own the car or b) are in the process of saving someone's life.

I repo for a living and have for the past 10 years. This MIGHT work on MAYBE 5 % of cars. Im sure after 45 minutes of getting frustrated and murdering your weather stripping calling AAA might be cheaper... Hair plugs are expensive.

This works but pretty much only in theory. Weather seal keeps water out so you can bet it's gonna do it's best to keep your limp string out too

Most newer cars don't have the lock on top anymore. It's hidden in the side of the door. So it wouldn't work on every car
