You can repair chipped bone knife handles and guitar parts with this method also. It doesn’t matter what order you combine the stuff . Once they touch, the combination becomes hard as stone. It’s standard procedure for repairing a chipped bone guitar nut or filling an improperly cut string slot.

You could add fine graphite powder to the baking soda . Mix well until you get a grey color. Or use ground cinnamon
with the baking soda and mix it dry. Get a light brown color .Take ground cinnamon , fine graphite powder, baking soda
and mix it together. You get a nice brownish black color. THEN fill a cracked plastic object by the crack, use a small
spoon or brush and wipe the dry colorant you made into the crack. THEN add several drops of super glue along the crack. Instant welds the two pieces back!

Yes, it's very useful. I had the left arm of my wire frame glasses break off, and I didn't have any time for almost two weeks that I could get a new rx, and pair, so I used this method on them. I glued the arm back on, built it up in layers, used a hobby knife and sand paper, and shaped it similar to the shape of the glasses. Then I used brown pencil and clear nail varnish to make them look like they had never been broken.
I had heard of this method from a video of an aircraft mechanic that uses it to fill in chips, and minor cracks, in propeller blades from loose gravel dings.

At the top of a guitar neck is what's called the nut. It's what holds the strings in place. The slots in the nut that hold the strings need to be a specific depth. So there's nut files that are the same thickness of each string. If you cut the nut slot too deep, instead of buying a new nut, you add baking soda and then drip super glue on the baking soda and then re file the slot. Yes, it's rock hard!!

There are endless uses for superglue. My daughter had a truck that had a small hole in the boot of the rack and pinon. At first I thought the worst but a mechanic told me to clean the area real good and put some superglue in the hole. Simple. I've also used superglue on cuts that I couldn't keep closed. Now, I don't advise putting superglue on any wounds UNLESS its intended for it. Because superglue is toxic but they make medical superglue but it's a bit pricey.

Like you said, you feel the void where the plastic is missing with super glue, and sprinkle the baking soda into it, and after several applications, you can make any shape you want. I rode that motorcycle for 20 more years, and never had that repair fail.

This works like a charm on hockey stick blade’s.
Over time the blade begins to breakdown or feels flexible aka “soft”. Basically the carbon fiber weaves develop little crack’s that make a crunchy noise while manually flexing the blade with your hand.
I found that a liberal application of the glue and powder is easily sanded down after it cures so there’s not a lump under the tape. The glue mix also works awesome on area’s on the blade that don’t get taped, especially on the backhand side where the cracks typically start, the bottom where there’s usually no tape as well.

Just because, here's a baking soda tip for tenderizing meat in the kitchen. Make a mixture of baking soda and water, about one teaspoon in a cup of water. Take a pound or so of raw meat like chicken breast, cut into 1 inch cubes and mix with the baking soda water. Let it sit for about ten minutes (less is more, here), then rinse *thoroughly.* Continue with your recipe as usual. It's called velveting and is why meat is tender, even in stir fries.

Tip #2 That tip was GREAT, dude.
Another tip is quickly touch your finger to that puddle, dab it off on a cloth so you don't have a whole ton of it on there, and it erases your fingerprints. For the rest of the day you do not have fingerprints. (Your prison softball story reminded me of some of the practices discussed by the opposing team in the chow hall.)

The baking soda with CA glue is a good trick that I've used for years, but better for filling a void than joining plastic components together. When you use an accelerator, like baking soda, it creates a fast hard joint, but the joint is so hard that it is far more brittle and likely to snap again if there is any stress or movement.

Luthiers have been using this to repair guitars years. If you get a chipped nut (where the strings lie in the white thing with grooves in it at the very end of the neck before the tunners are) or bridge, you mix this, dab it in the cracked or chipped area and then sand it after it dries

Yeah, the cops hate it when I combine superglue and baking soda to repair things.
One time I got a citation for doing this.
Had to go through a whole court process to finally get it dismissed.
I walked out of the court room holing my Elmers and Arm and Hammer ,smirking at the cop who cited me.
    Was a great day.
