  • Probably the cheapest rod and reel combo you can buy in Australia and I was amazed at how good it is. Big carp are a great challenge so I started with them.

    Big W sponsorship lol
    Great work. Great challenge.
    When I was kid I caught a huge flathead on a length of bamboo and a piece of line about twenty feet. Just flicked it out and waited.

    Mate , I still have a few rods and reels bought from Kmart , and they still catch as many fish as me more expensive ones . Got me biggest flatty on a cheap Kmart combo when I started lure fishing , cost 20 bucks , just put braid on the reel instead of the mono it had ! Bass are still going well at Parra mate . 👍

      It's legal in nsw to release them back to the waterway. Taking 4 carp out of that area would only make space for more carp.

    • @pb839
      @pb839 Před 2 lety +2

      It is not the law in NSW you are allowed to return to water you caught in.

    • @aussieauto7314
      @aussieauto7314 Před 2 lety

      Since when has that come in for years when i was living down there the law was you had to kill the carp and put them in the bin has nsw fisheries gone mad

    • @pb839
      @pb839 Před 2 lety +2

      Since at least 2006 when I moved to Sydney. In the bin is no longer logical, the original ‘science’ is flawed, if you follow the logic all trout should be exterminated too, they love to eat native fish roe. And as for European salmon being stocked in big dams. The Russians moved millions of pacific salmon (different species to European) to close to the European Arctic, they have learnt to go to sea and return to rivers, except they return to European waterways including the UK (instead of Canadian and Northern pacific US waters, Russian northern pacific etc.,) threatening Atlantic (European) salmon. Once you mess with nature you can’t put the lid back on. Funnily enough the only place carp culling will work is in enclosed waters where if they do have an impact they cannot leave, unless the water is not truly enclosed.

    • @aussieauto7314
      @aussieauto7314 Před 2 lety

      Aha ok in qld you still have to kill carp and tilapia ur not allowed to take them home for food or fertilizer

    • @neilw5198
      @neilw5198 Před 2 lety

      Personally if it's a man-made lake I would put it back, if it's from a creek or river ,kill the bastard.
