It wasn't the trees bringing the spiders to the bridge...spiders were already there under the bridge probably covering the top of bridge under roadway. Spiders like dark reclusive areas and generally want to be high er than their prey so when the underside of bridge started filling with water they had no choice but to come out of hiding.
