Does the company have good ratings on the web, are they licensed contractors if that is required in your area, how long have they been in business, what is their BBB rating? These are all things to consider before making your purchase.

The biggest difference is that Bass wood has a very smooth and tight wood grain making it easier to mimic other woods when staining. They are both light weight and strong woods, but most manufacturers prefer bass wood as it is readily available, very sustainable, and easy to work with. Both woods make a good shutter. When painted, it is hard to tell the difference, but when stained there is a very noticeable difference.

How do you remove the outside molding around shutter. We have to replace the window but was told we have to remove the shutter first. It looks like the fancy molding on the white window you show in the video. I don't see any screws or nails in the trim.
