This is an older project (from 2015) that recently got hit with a copyright claim on the music I used in the video. I paid to license the music from AudioBlocks.com, but another company (TuneCore) holds rights on a performance that uses that piece of music as well (another "artist" just added vocals to the stock music).
When I first started using AudioBlocks, you could email them and they would clear the claim with the other company. Since then, they have changed their terms and now it costs extra to get them to do it. I could dispute the claim myself, but these companies do not accept the valid license agreement that I have to use the music, and short of taking them to court, there's nothing I can do to get the claim removed.
Also, there is usually an option to remove the music from the video, but CZcams is not letting me do that, for some unknown reason. My only other alternative is to make the video unlisted and re-upload it without that music. And that's what I did here.
As of today's date, the original video has 206,000 views, so clearly there is interest in the project. I unlisted the original so that the other company (TuneCore) would not profit even by a few cents from a false claim.
The original didn't have any narration, so that can be seen as an improvement. I did have to add "safe" music, since I couldn't recover the tool sounds. I don't have the original clips or video - they are long gone, and had to download this from CZcams to re-edit.

I'll never again complain about the price of these things being made from wood. And I'm adding this project to my growing list of I'll never be able to do: like reading advanced physics for pleasure, running the 4 minute mile, and mastering barre chords on a guitar. Thanks for posting...totally awesome.

What a shame to have to deal with this bogus claim when you’ve done everything right from the beginning. Thanks for taking the time to remake this video. Your solution for the knuckle and control bar being on the slide is another one of your well thought out, very clever solutions and not one that I’ve seen anywhere else. I appreciate all the effort you put in to providing excellent content.

Love the video and I love the new music. Has that 80s synth feel. If it makes you feel any better I hadn’t seen the first one and this new one with the narration kicks ass.
Eff that company; keep on doing what you’re doing. You bring a lot of people enjoyment, and my girlfriend loves the outdoor chairs I built from your plans.

Nice work John! I work at a custom shutter company and it was neat seeing how you took this approach using simple shop tools. Keep up the good work! Also, when we build them with the tilt control on the side we put it on the back of the panel. Makes for a little sleeker look and is really more of a linkage than a typical tilt rod. By doing that you can route a rebate in the stile and connect the linkage directly into the ends of the louvers. Not sure if that would be easier than making all those “knuckles”. But very clever!

OMG...hundreds per shutter for the large size i need for my covered deck. Then i see this video. Thanks John for this. I"m soooo making mine like these. I might even price out a 3D printer for what i'm saving on the cost from a half dozen kits.
