    Currently i am struggling with my boyfriend on communication.... He is a great person but he dont listen.... due to that we constantly argue ... Its exhausting and i do not want that to continue.... This video is great.... I am going to share this with him and see if it helps. Thank you!

    9:10 what if the person you're talking to does not want you to repeat what they said? As if they don't want to hear what they said exactly.

      haha... been there, and its because they know they speak out of negativity to begin with, in which case you knew that, and you say to yourself; why am I talking to this person?

    I sometimes react like "hey, you win. now can we have a real, meaningful conversation?" when i feel people are just trying to convince me they're right, without paying attention to what im saying.
    its a good way to disarm someone, but it has the downside that if you're speaking with a particularly vicious individual, they can take advantage and just roll over you, significantly hurting your ego in the process.
    i believe i developed this, along with absurdist humour, as a defense mechanism, to cope with having an impulsive, and somewhat abusive mother, who would constantly lash out at people irrationally.
