You could do all the modeling, simulations, and rendering in Maya alone but their commercial license is a bit pricey

First of all Squirrel buttercups, seccond of all, THAT WAS AMAZING! Great job guys, those disintegration effects also can make really useful spark effects with a little color correction and glowing. I've already used a few of the on a fake magazine cover I'm making in my graphic arts class.

if the two shot matched perfectly, couldnt you use the clean plate as a negative of your shot of the actor so you could isolate him without the roto work?
I mean by sustracting identical pixels. it could not work, but that's why i ask.
This looks reeeally close to the big budget match moving shots from the film especially in the wide shot! Incredible what some simple dynamic sims can accomplish in a 2d space
thanks! Yeah the movie had quite a few variations after re-watching the scenes, so we had a bit of wiggle room
ProductionCrate I’ve only got half a year or so of compositing experience and i’ve only just started matchmoving with moving cameras and it’s so hard to get a blank plane to rotoscope. I built a simple dolly but I haven’t been able to get anything dynamic. I’ll have to give that lazy susan idea a go!

Yo does anybody know how to do it for each body part, like do I need multiple solids for each body part because when I try making a mask over the body part and do Luma matte on the video to the solid, the rest of the body disappears while just that limb is invisible. Please help ASAP 🙏
