Awesome tutorial (as always) created my own video with this effect. Although my computer is about 7 years old (i7, gtx 550 Ti card, 8gb ram) so when I did set the particles to 600.000, my disc drive opened up and gave me a bitchslap. We then made a deal to lower it to 350.000 particles as a concession. Now all works fine and I got a nice video thanks to your tutorial!!!

All thanks to your tutorial, I'm still quite new with Adobe After Effects (2 weeks) but I have learned a lot already thanks to your tutorial video's!!! My friends at a wildlife preservation organisation, liked the video and might want to use it!! all thanks to you!!! (No money involved!!), I'm just happy that I can help them out (thanks to your tutorial!) even though I'm far away from your expert level.. The video is about the disintegration of a monkey infront of a park while some texts shows, "Save nature, before it is too late!" then the monkey disappears leaving just the park to see all empty.

I'm planning on using this for a senior project I'm doing and all of the seniors are gonna disintegrate since we are gonna graduate soon. One line I have is "reality is catching up to us" and that's where we disintegrate one by one.
This is truly amazing looking at the present day effects.

If you reverse this effect you could get a cool virtual reality effect as well.

Reverse the footage, make the particles a vr colour and a vr shape then reverse the footage again so it isn’t reversed footage of someone logging off

hey, I have a problem. after I tweak the effects using particular, the particles are all over the screen. they don't start from the dust mask.

Technically you should have fallen on the ground when the legs disintegrated or just started the disintegration from the head and go downwards. (This happened to bucky in IW)
