  • Join me as I recount the experience of staying in hospital to get gender confirmation surgery (GCS)!
    On 12th October, I had a vaginoplasty performed by Ms Tina Rashid at Parkside Hospital in London. This was an extremely challenging experience but also the best moment of my life. In this video, I'll be talking about what I went through while in hospital, as well as my thoughts and feelings around it. It's a long video, sorry!! I'm still getting the hang of this.

    now, you might be wondering why i haven’t made a follow up video to this. i did record one around december, but kinda never got around to editing and publishing it. i’m just kinda lazy! i’ll work on a proper follow up video (with q&a) eventually. turns out video is a lot of work, haha. feel free to ask any questions below.

    I had my surgery last August and had a brief moment of panic as I was being wheeled back to the operating room. There was a second of "am I making the right decision?" I think that's normal. More than anything I was more afraid of something going wrong with anesthesia and not waking up. My doctors have said my recovery has been much more difficult than their other patients. I had A LOT of hyper granuloma tissue in the months following and super intense nerve pain. I absolutely couldn't handle doing it on my own in the beginning--I could hardly walk and I'd get SO tired. I'm so thankful that I was able to have my mom with me. Even with all the difficulties and how annoying it can be to dilate so often for a while, I have no regrets.

      It's funny that I came across two deaf persons today and I had a "conversation" with them and their guide. Fun times.
      Who you are and what you think you are, these are two different things. And no matter what you think you are, and what you do to become who you think you are...it doesn't change who you are, and only adds to what you will have to deal with in the future.

      A woman wants to be saved by a man. Why are you being a man, fighting another man?

This really does give an insight to me of what I'll experience one day and give reassurance and know what to expect to make the recovery and surgery experience easier when I have my GRS. I'm currently waiting on the Nottingham Gender Clinic List and soon to start my medical transition with my first appointment in Q4 of 2024 it's exciting to get the treatment I need to feel connected and happier in my own skin and feel relieved at one with myself for the first time. MATTHEW CHAPTER 25 VERSE 31 TO 46.
    verse 31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
    32 " All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
    34 "Then the king will say to those on His right hand,'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
    35 'For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
    36 'I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
    37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying,'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give You drink?
    38 'When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe You?
    39 'Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'
    40 "And the king will answer and say to them,' Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren l, you did it to Me.'
    41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
    42 'For I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
    43 'I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'
    44 " Then they also will answer Him, saying,'Lord, when did see You hungry or thirst or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?'
    45 " Then He will answer them, saying,' Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to Me.'

    Please make sure you are willing to live with the consequences if this surgery has complications. Right now your urinary tract is intact and your sexual parts work. This could change and you could lose the ability to enjoy sex. Don’t trade your health for something your not sure about. Try to love yourself the way you were born. These doctors are making money off your surgery. Think about that! Do they have your best interest or theirs in mind.

Even patients that have cancer-removing surgeries can have significantly higher regret rates than that. Managing expectations and outcome-neutral counseling might help, not to mention acceptance in societies of gender non-conforming individuals. Denying access to surgery for others merely because of a risk that has been studied seems extreme. The wait times for surgeries are already very long in many jurisdictions. This is a complex issue.

Every surgery has a risk of getting infected and the mtf bottom surgery is practically a realistic and functional one. I can say it's an open wound for you. Changing gender isn't easy as its hell to go through and getting rid of the GD and waiting for treatment to kick in.
