Phenomenal analysis! Great to see you are posting new vids! I watch a lot of other chess channels and no other youtuber has your charisma and presentation skills!
Dereque thank you so much for uploading those amazing and important videos! I just love the way you explain things. I can get every word you say, you speak very clearly. And you always havea smile on your face so it's really fun to see also. Good luck at your chess career. You are great!!! :-) :-) :-)
Hi Dereque my name is Chad, I've been watching your videos for about 5 years now. When I started watching your videos it opened my eyes to chess theory for I was rated about 1750 and never studied openings. Since then your videos helped me get started. I'm currently an expert narrowing in on my way to master. You replied to My first and only comment back then but it seems your channel has blown up since then. My only opening question now is that queens pawn games are rather difficult to study as black. I find against 1.e4 I can play everything with black however against 1.d4 I like the (Grunfeld/KID/Nimzo/Semi-slav) however after 1.d4 1...Nf6 2.Nf3 white has the option to play (London/Torre/Colle/Colle Zuketorte) whereas blacks 2nd move greatly changes how he plays against these. With the addition that after 2...g6 white can even play 3.Nc3. I find these to be the most difficult to study because white doesn't fully commit his c-pawn yet. I was wondering if you'd ever touch on this theory by showing 1.d4 1...Nf6 2.Nf3 with the perspective of 2...g6/2...d5/and 2...e6. Thank you very much and great job on the channel!
Hey Dereque, do you answer questions? I'm working on trying to go from beginner to intermediate, and having a tough time with positional play. At my basic level I find I'm more comfortable holding on to bishops over knights when I can, as I find B's more useful later in the game. I'm usually willing to give up a knight in an equal value exchange of minor pieces. And along those lines, defenses like the Nimzo-Indian don't seem to resonate with me, and I find I tend more toward something like the Slav or QGD. Conversely, I'm generally ok when someone goes for say a Bg5 pin (for a basic example: 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Bg5 Nc6 5. Bxf6 gxf6, willing to trade o-o for an eventual o-o-o, and finding the bishop pair sufficient compensation for the doubled pawns. My question is: (while I'm probably way oversimplifying it) is that a legitimate way to make a decision about how to play a particular opening for a low level player... what you're comfortable giving up vs what you get back? Thank you so much for your time and videos - they may be the most helpful on the internet. Also, since it looks like you're focusing on blitz these days, can you do one on a strong reply to and really "punishing the Parham"? Many thanks
Thanks, informative as always! On a sidenote, you seem to speak a lot more slowly now or something? I had to listen to this on 2x speed to stop myself getting frustrated..

Do you play on any chess websites? I would like to follow you if possible. If you ever host an online tournament I would be happy to join. Take care!

First 👀 But for real, great video as always👍
Much appreciated!! :)
Do you live stream on twitch?
No, I have not yet considered this!! :)
why cant you still put the knight on a7 after he pushes you off around 9:00
After ...Bd7 and ...Qb8, White can lose material or simply find no use for his knight on a7 in this line
modern defense
pls
Thank you :)
Been in the gym
