  • In the video I detail the features, fit and ride of the GEL-Nimbus Lite 3, releasing February at $160 with a now softer foam formed from organically derived materials and with at least 50% recycled materials in the upper. I also compare it in brief to GEL-Nimbus 24.

    I found the Gel nimbus lite 2 to be a perfect daily trainer and even long run shoe. Definitely not a lively mid sole and felt a little flat but felt very comfortable and led to a very natural and stable ride compared to a lot of more "innovative" shoes I have in my lineup. Doing workhorse miles in this were comfortable but also made it so that if I threw on say the Endorphin Speeds for tempo/workouts I was flying. This replaced the Clifton in my rotation. Although the updates look minimal I love the thinner tongue and upper. Only thing is the $160 price tag doesn't seem to fit in a shoe that isn't performance based and not max cushion either. At $130 I think it would be a loyal following. This BTW is coming from someone who has never liked the regular Gel nimbus series.

      I agree with your take. I think part of the premium pricing is for the strong sustainability elements in the Lite. I do not know if they cost more to pull off and still provide equivalent performance but imagine they do

    Great review as always, thank you 🙂
    But the high drops that Asics tend to favor, makes this shoe, and most Asics shoes a big NO.
    I find those high drops tend to hamper the achilles and over time of 10+ years degrade the achilles tendon in a huge amount of runners.
    Well, for now, at the moment, I'm only allowed to say "I believe...", but we will have to see at a later date.
    Appart from the drop, this seems like a really good shoe.
    Love the jacket !!!

      Thanks! A bit lighter but same idea as last year’s NDO. Huge range of temps and conditions. Never overheated, never chilled.

    The Nimbus Lite 1 midsole felt totally different from the 2 and this looks more similar to the 2 based just on appearance. The foam material felt like a completely different compound. 1 felt soft and bouncy and similar to the Metaracer compound, but the 2 felt firm and uninspired like just a traditional EVA. Very strange because people didn't seem to mention that much.

    I was hoping ASICS would ditch the even higher drop for their women's versions. I don’t know a single female runner who wears high heels, so why? I’d consider up to 10mm because the other shoes in my rotation are various lower drops, but beyond 10…no thanks. Love your reviews, though. Martha

    Reminds me about the Zante, and that's a good thing!

    Thanks Sam. Do you think there will be a Nimbus Lite 4?

    Great looking shoe! Are you wearing Stihl gloves? As in Stihl chainsaws? :)

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Před 2 lety

      Isn't it! Yup Stihl gloves good for outside work and nice for running as not overly snug as run gloves often are so I tend to leave them on as not suffocating. I have found Stihl gloves in general really excellent.

    I appreciate the review. One question though. Why should narrow feet runners avoid this shoe?

    • @bunnieg6294
      @bunnieg6294 Před 2 lety

      By the way, my current rotation is the
      NB 1080v11 for long runs
      Nike Invincibles for easy efforts
      Pegasus 37s for daily trainers
      And Saucony Speed 2s for workouts/ tempos
      Im contemplating replacing my pegasus with the Nimbus lite 3 for a new daily trainer with a little cushion for comfort. Thanks for any help you might add

    Hi did you do a review on the nimbus 24?

  • @boti2305

    Hi, I am looking for an Asics stability shoe. I can't make up my mind Among kayano 28, kayano lite 2 or GT 2000 10. I bought the Asics nivabalst 2 and love the feeling, though seems a bit unstable for me and end up feeling some pain in gluteus area, I am used torun in Adidas torsion system "neutral" shoes and they work fine,but I am tented to try Asics. Any recommendations? Can I use the lite 2 as a big stability shoe? Seems like GT 2000 10 isn't that rigid and less innovative than the lite 2...Do these stability shoes work for neutral runners? Thanks 🙏🏼

      @RoadTrailRun  Před 2 lety

      You might actually like the Nimbus 24, review soon here. It has the Trusstic plate for some stability and a very supportive upper with more lively cushion than either Kayano's or GT 2000. Written reviews of the other ASICS here: www.roadtrailrun.com/p/blog-page.html

      @boti2305 Před 2 lety

      @@RoadTrailRun I have just checked that the Cumulus hasn't got this trusstic system. It's the new nimbus a more stable shoe then ?

      Thanks for the advice, I didn't consider the Nimbus as an option and it seems it might be just right.

    Will you feel the ground underfoot in forefoot due to low stack height of 15mm, how's the shock absorbtion Imean??(lite version)

    • @RoadTrailRun
      @RoadTrailRun  Před 2 lety +1

      The 15 is the midsole only which is what ASICS only quotes. Add about 10mm for sock liner, board and outsole so 25mm so plenty. See our written review for more details here: www.roadtrailrun.com/2022/01/asics-gel-nimbus-lite-3-multi-tester.html

    Asics stop making these super high drop shoes. Why in the world would anyone want to run in a 13mm drop shoe.

  • @samsaksham1030
    @samsaksham1030 Před 2 lety

    All these shoes provided GEL - CUSHION & COMFORT
    only on the HEELS whereas no one notice that almost 60% runners put first pressure
    on FRONT or MIDDLE FOOT. As I am the front foot runner …. Can you tell me the
    exact shoes for me ???

    • @TOXIN543
      @TOXIN543 Před 2 lety +2

      actually the gel in the back is only for visual purposes. It does not reach under foot and therefore does not contribute to any cushion. The gel under the foot is just a penny-sized patch underneath the ball of the foot. So it's a lot of marketing and little effect.
