I did my blood test yesterday after 5 weeks of 100% no carbohydrates no sugar no fruits no starch no red meat diet. My Liver panel test result shown AST , ALT , GGT level all perfect! Far from its top range. Just 5 weeks. My fatty liver is reversed to healthy normal. I lost 4-5kg just from dieting and stop eating after 7pm till next day lunch. 2 meals a day. Only boiled using water, steam Fish , tofu , cabbage broccoli veggies , chicken breast , black coffee no sugar for afternoon lunch and green tea no sugar during evening dinner not later than 7pm. After 7pm I fast till next day lunch 12pm. The fasting time is extremely important as this time allows digestion and some hunger which makes our body burn the fat within without exercising. Exercising barely able to reach the fat around our liver. So fasting is the effective way. I had No milk (contain high fat and high sugar) . No snacks. No all kind of bread which still are carbohydrates. No cake. No biscuits. No rice. No noodles. No fruits especially as it’s fructose are directly process only by our liver! Just 5 weeks and fatty liver is back to normal with proven liver function blood test compared to my previous test result 5 weeks ago. I feel very lively light and positive. I lost 5kg. Also My cholesterol and sugar level were also extremely good blood test result! I m looking way younger and my body is nicer too. I m 33 years old male. Non smoker non alcoholic. Didn’t work in a toxic environment. I didn’t exercise. But I ate much rice , fatty red meat, and milk and cookies and fruits. I slept late before. Now I kicked those bad habit n bad diet. After recovered from fatty liver, I continue my way of eating n fasting n sleeping time. I reintroduced some healthy carbohydrates back into my diet. Such as some corn carrot , some wheat bread, a little potatoes. Please make sure u do not overdo it. I really mean only some. Lack of discipline and taking it for granted will cause regrets. I’m sharing for mankind and for those who were helpless from useless doctors. And I’m sharing in memory of my late father who passed away due to end stage liver disease.
Months later I did followed up on ultrasound and report shown my liver is perfectly healthy , also my kidney and pancreas and gallbladder. Since then I resume back to normal diet which include some fruits and carbohydrates. I continue to exclude fast food, oily and unhealthy food. Please bear in mind that fruits and carbohydrates must be consume in moderation. And fruits cannot be consume everyday to prevent diabetes!

2:51 Besides everything discussed on hepatocyte level, I feel like some key pathogenic mechanisms are left out: disruption of the intestinal barrier, creating leaky gut and increased exposure of Kupffer cells to endotoxins (LPS) and other non-commensal loads. These in turn can also contribute to the hepatomegaly and increased inflammation. Other than that, great overview video!

It´s cirrosis* . The damage to the liver in this disease is irreversible, it gets permant fibrosis, and alcohol is a main cause. Even if you stopped drinking 2 years ago you still may have got cirrosis.

Alcoholic cirrhosis = hepatomegaly
Other types of cirrhosis = atrophy of liver
Is this the general rule of thumb?
Alcoholic Hepatitis would have hepatomegaly, but the final stage of ALD would be Alcoholic Cirrhosis and this actually shows a micronodular shrunken liver. I guess a few good ways to usually distinguish Alcoholic Cirrhosis over other types of Cirrhosis is: 1.) Patient History 2.) AST > ALT 3.) Mallory bodies are sometimes present
Liver disease follows a pattern. It starts with hepatitis, progressing to fatty liver, or steatohepatitis & finally Cirrhosis. In hepatitis & fatty liver, liver is enlarged & tender. Therefore it is prominent on palpation.
But in Cirrhotic stage, the liver is shrunken, & may not be felt at all on palpation. This is because of:
1. Extensive fibrosis
2. Portal hypertension linked with liver disease leads to a bypass. The blood enters the systemic circulation through porto-systemic anastamoses. Hence, the blood supply to liver is lost, which contributes to its atrophy.
This pattern is more or less, generalized. It is seen in all cases of hepatitis irrespective of aetiology.
So don't drink alcohol from the beginning in order to prevent this🙂🙂
