Since nothing is edible anymore I stopped eating the day this video was released. I now weigh a mere 18 lbs. It's cool because I can travel the world for free just by stepping outside and letting the wind carry me away. Even better is when I turn sideways no one can see me!
2024 Update:
After getting caught in the updraft of an F5 tornado I'm now in the midst of inner planetary travel. I seem to be headed toward Venus. Maybe one of the other planets or their moons will have something I can eat without worry. I'll keep you posted. It's a bit chilly up here.

That's right - me too. I love playing Hide and Seek. All I need is a broom to hide behind and nobody thinks to look there. It has now go to the point whereby - so as not to freak out my friends - I have to drink a cup of black coffee to cast a shadow.

Foods that ruin my liver: the entire grocery store, apparently.
I remember as a child I've never had problems with dairy, gluten or anything really, no allergies whatsoever. Then, a few years ago, I began to have digestive issues, now literally everything makes me feel bloated, I developed GERD, IBS, an enlarged liver (even though I am skinny and never drink) etc. Additionally, I also got hand eczema, which refuses to heal no matter what I do. Eczema is slowly starting to appear on my face as well. I've been thinking a lot about these things, and why I did not have any problems with food or my digestion as a kid. I came to the conclusion that all these big companies must inject food items with god knows what and that is what we have an allergic reaction to. That is what our stomach cannot handle. I understand that there are people with real allergies, who would die if they ate foods containing peanuts for example, but food intolerances...I swear it is because our bodies cannot tolerate all these perservatives, colorings and whatever else they put in food that is not even indicated on the label.
Same problem for me
I developed skin rashes too. They have moved around in different places in my body. I now have it in my arm. Was once on my hand really bad. I cut out so much and only eat keto. Still have the rash and I’m thinking it’s the cheese/dairy. I hope not cause I love cheese, cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream.

Dude! I had the eczema reaction from consuming cereal! Yes cereal! The classic kind of cereal! It was in my hands and feet and it burned and itched like heck and it took forever for my body to detox.
It would be easier if Dr Berg just gave us a list of what we can eat
What a fucking donkey. Most items in this list aren't consumed by most people anyway.
Jajajaja
Hes still in the journey to break the code ... 😂 I want him to live a normal life and die than to worry on what to eat and eventually die
That, he surely, has been doing in several videos. This channel is a gold mine.
Then that would be one video and he'd have no more to make.

"Anytime you consume something that's refined out of the normal complex that nature is designed, it comes with a package."
Well, this sums up everything we eat today and what we suffer as consequences. Thank you Dr. Berg, please continue to educate the world.
Nice. My general rule....if it is prepackaged it's probably not good! It's not that difficult. It's been several years now since I learned from this guy and a few others. I no longer have the problems I used to have.
I am getting on in years and enjoying food is wicked important. I eat well. And I cook for poor kids in the neighborhood!!;
Thank you for all your videos. I'm new and trying to watch all of them and trying to fix my legs. Swelling, brusing, and itching. I've had blood test and been to 2 drs. That dont know whats wrong. But I believe its my liver and kidneys since watching your videos so I'm going to get healthy and see if this helps. Too young to give up!! Thank you for sharing and saving my life!!! Will keep you posted on my progress! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
Very easy to avoid all these things. Just cook from scratch. Avoid ALL prosessed/poisonous foods. I have cooked from scratch all my life and at 70 years young, have never taken any meds at all and so far have no health issues. But I still listen to this doctor. God bless from the U.K.

THANKS
This is why I read comments . Thankyou.
I find trying to live a healthy life exhausting... BUT living a sick unhealthy life is beyond exhausting. Adhering to everything learned after hundreds of hours of research has helped me lose 30 lbs in the past 2 yrs and lower BP significantly, as well as A1C, LDL, etc.--and bring all my good blood results up. So it is worth constantly learning!
You are doing a great service doc, thanks!
Ok, my grandfather lived 98 years. He had never used CZcams. He told me - whatever you get in the market, buy according to your pocket cook it and eat it. Daily common exercise is also important. That's all.
Please understand the older generations mostly missed the poisoned processed foods. Foods are nothing like they were when he was growing up. Our food supply started getting bad in the 70's and REALLY bad since the 90's. Most people in their 50's and younger are suffering some form of chronic illness.
What I have gathered as a common denominator from all these videos is as below:
1. Avoid as much as possible white sugar
2. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables - cooked or uncooked, whichever is possible for you.
3. Use ghee, butter in moderation, butdo use them.
4. Moderate amount of soaked nuts and seeds are good.
5. Do not get into knowing chemical names like maltodextrin etc... Just avoid processed foods as much as possible including cookies, biscuits. Make them at home if you want it.
6. Go to a doctor if any severe acute issue or you have tried some home remedies for at least a day or two.
7. Hydrate youself with at least 6 to 8 glasses of water daily
.
Nope. In general people would be better off eating more butter and Ghee.

Thank you so much @ NY Grl
@Hope is stronger than fears The same thing is written in the description of the video. His comment is just stupid
All lies
After viewing your video, I read the label on several of the “keto, friendly“ foods that I have been using and soy protein isolate was in the top three ingredients. It really concerns me that I’ve been eating this poison and not knowing it I will be throwing out a lot of expensive food this week. Thank you for the great information.
Read ingredients always. I had to learn that too. Maltodextrin is in everything. Soy and vegetable oil is in everything.
Good for you, don't look at it as food even!
Protein Isolate is not poison. It's infact one of the highest quality protein. Taking it in large quantities may be harmful for the liver. So you don't have to throw it but take it moderately. Restrict your intake.
Thanks again, Dr. Berg, for another wonderful video! Not only do you give us a list of things we should not eat and why, you give us the reasons behind the things we should not eat. I am almost 76, and your videos are helping me to stay ahead of the game, so thanks again, and keep up the good work and know how important your videos are.
If I’m 76 like you , I would eat whatever I love to eat as at 76 , you don’t have that much time to enjoy your food
Go for it. Smoke , drink , eat whatever you love . Time is running out
I was thinking if it took 76 years to learn how to eat healthier then we are all doomed
@@nef.spring I would go for it, but I have Diabetes 2, and I have a genetic mutation in the part of my blood that keeps your blood thin enough to not clot. Because of this, I can only eat a small amount of greens because they have Vitamin K in them and that works against the medication I am taking to keep my blood in line. Also, I am an ultrasensitive person and because of this, there are lots of foods that will make me feel crappy or keep me up at night. And if you aren't 76, wait until you get there and you might find a desire to eat as well as you can.
I had a routine blood test done and was found to have elevated liver enzymes. The culprit: Whey protein powder because I was going to the gym regularly and wanted an easy/fast digesting way to boost my protein levels.
Dropped the whey and my liver quickly went back to normal. Moral of the story: Just eat whole foods and don't go for the quick/easy fix.
You drink whey pure not in powder, whey is a leftover when making cheese as you know. Cows should not eat monsanto stuff but grass free on pastures.

This is a first world problem! My dad nearly starved in WW2 then made up for it by eating a lot. Beloved fruit & ate a lot every day - had lovey unlined skin & lived to 94. Thanks for sharing this insightful video! It's eye-opening to learn how everyday foods like these can impact liver health. It emphasizes the importance of a balanced diet and being mindful of what we consume. Definitely something to think about.
My body started rejecting foods big time 10 years ago. The result was years of constant hospitalisation after consuming foods I had eaten all my life. Healthy 'normal' foods. There is a point to this story, which is:
After years of sickness, I have narrowed down the foods my body can tolerate. Those foods turned out to be foods my ancestors ate. To my dismay my diet now consists mostly of root vegetables, seafood, chicken and very limited red meat and some leafy greens (no dairy,no soy, no wheat, no gluten, no corn, limited starches, no sodas or cordials, no alcohol, no coffee and no manufactured sugars no animal fats, no seeds, limited nuts only macadamia and peacan. The plethora of 'healthy' (and unhealthy) foods from across the globe available to me, ultimately made me sick.
Upon reflection, it makes sense that like many things we inherit, our gut-health is one of them. We should take it seriously and not ignore children's dislikes of foods. Had my parents been aware of intolerances not just allergies, I would have been able to feel this healthy all my life. These days everyone is aware of food intolerances, so if it feels bad don't eat it again. A big one is alcohol. My body simply can't tolerate it. So, I don't care how socially unacceptable it is not to drink (and boy does the pressure get applied) if it gives you skin redness, or the sniffles, or red watering eyes, or makes your stomach ache, please give it away, your body is begging you quietly. If you ignore all the subtle signs the toxins will build up and you'll find yourself in hospital, with a mild intolerance that has turned into a toxic overload on your liver, kidneys, pancreas, lymph system and brain. I wish someone had told me this years ago. I hope this helps someone out there. Or their kids or anyone. Listen to the subtle signs and avoid my mistakes.
Same here buddy i wish someone had told me years ago 😭..... But still I'm following the diet, but if lord don't want me alive it's his wish 😘😘😘😘

I respect Dr Berg. I've been a follower of his channel for years. I always look forward to seeing his videos. In this situation however, I have a bit of an issue. There is absolutely no need to peddle fear, uncertainty, and doubt. These are things that if consumed in excess, can damage your liver over time. To say or put ruin in all caps on your thumbnail can aggravate and annoy anyone. If it is something we need to be aware of, or be cognizant of so that we can make better decisions and choices, then please communicate that. Seeing the words "ruin your liver" is too much hyperbole for me. It's not necessary.
I agree.
@@GodsRemnant917 🤣
Well said. Don’t take the words in an extreme way…
We don't tell alcoholics or drug addicts "everything in moderation".
Yeah, just stay away from high sources of these things and that will help keep the liver out of danger. I'm going to eat pork rinds now and then and popcorn is always on the menu. Still, I'm not going to overdo these things.
I was only taught since childhood only that" too much of every good thing is bad".
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your knowledge and willingness to share it.

Dr Berg, you are amazing!!!! Your videos are so informative! I've not watched them for a while but recently I've started again and I've learnt so much; you've confirmed so many things on my mind! you have such a calming, interesting and knowledgeable "voice". Doctors SHOULD learn from you!
I had fatty liver - which is under control and, hopefully, getting back to normal! (my AST and ALT readings are back to normal - I hope that's a good indicator 🤔). I have no liver disease symptoms.
I saw a nutritionist last year in November for pre diabetic blood sugar levels. I've lost 9 kgs, morning bloods are about 5.4 from 6.5, and lost 11.5 cms around my waist!!
Thank you so much for your amazing videos! regards and best wishes to you!
I've lost 8
My ALT was 600 and AST around 100. I was terrified. The ultrasound showed a completely healthy liver, and after a long conversation with the gastroenterologist about my diet, he determined that a protein shake (pea and rice vegan protein) could be the cause. After stopping the consumption of the protein shake, the values returned to normal. I still can't believe that such a seemingly innocuous food supplement that is touted as a healthy source of protein could do such harm. Later, I found out that many people who regularly go to the gym and take protein shakes every day before each blood test take a ten-day break precisely because of liver enzymes. Since then, I look for sources of protein exclusively in food.
So, do you know of a good protein powder?

or thousands of years Mexicans have been eating corn ..... the poor brown people of Mexico, the biggest corn eaters, age the slowest/live the longest on the planet, minus the poor of Bolivia.
Guy likes the sound of his own voice.
Takes too long to get to the point.
How are you going with that…..
Agree Dr Berg is Excellent
Dr. Berg has no knowledge or education in microbiology or nutrition. He literally just regurgitates misinformation for clicks and you sheep lap it up
Thank you so much for this! When I first began my keto journey 3 years ago, it helped to remember your warnings and sometimes, I'd say "What would Dr. Berg do?" This list is so convenient as a NON-shopping list! Thank you!
Growing up in India in fifty’s.We have home milk, butter, ghee,no sprays on crops, no chocolates or sweets, no refrigerators, fresh grind wheats flour without added salts so on. All my families live longer and healthy also memories was good. I’m 75, worked 40 years, all ways slightly careful, what I eat.My personal experience, loneliness reduces brain function, due to Covid, less communication with other.
I hope things are better for you now and able to socialise more often
@@azad7875 thanks for ur concern. yes feeling much better now.
Never believed any of the so called research on coconut oil ghee and other Indian foods if my grandparents ate and lived long they were good....indian food tested tried and is the best including a little pickle full of antioxidants.....
Thank you doctor now I can understand a little bit about my many problems!!!!
Thank you Dr.Berg great information again!
No problem. Glad to share this info. Take care.
...I would argue that most foods outside any restaurant have MSG, not just Chinese foods. I've asked many restaurants when I got out if anything has MSG and the majority of the time they say yes a little...
Kudos to you Dr. Berg 🙏 I'm so glad you finally talk about petroleum derivatives in our food. It's used to extract and isolate nutrients in MANY things including food supplements. Laboratories typically use hexane or kerosene (kerosene is 'natural'). Both are extremely toxic chemicals.
How about within lotions?
So ur saying fruit is bad for your liver?!?! Ur fulla crap “Doctor!”
You probably get higher amounts of toxins from the water you drink and the air you breathe than “Hexane” or any other solvent used in extraction processes because 99.999 % is recovered or evaporated before it even gets to market. Maltodextrin is used primarily in JUNK FOOD which you should eat in moderation if at all. Fructose is found in nearly all fruit so we are supposed to avoid ALL FRUIT? ‘VEGETABLE OIL’ is any oil that is not from Animal or Mineral sources and we should not eat these either so what is left?
@dkonx it s one of the worst ones: it s loaded with omega 6 and is highly processed frankenfood
@@jimbearone I have fructose intolerance so I don’t eat fruit. It’s so hard but I really suffer if I do eat some fruit. The only oil I can tolerate is organic coconut oil. I use pure organic unsalted butter also to cook in but don’t use much.
I grew up on an Orchard and was drenched with very high amounts of toxic pesticides( many of which are now banned) since I was a baby until the age of 26. I have autoimmune diseases (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia, eczema ), multiple chemical allergies and sensitivities and food intolerances and allergies and Irritable Bowel Syndrome).
I’m histamine intolerant, asthmatic and atopic and have SVT ( a type of heart arrhythmia involving severe tachycardia).
I have Major Depressive Disorder, GAD ( with panic disorder) and I’ve also recently been diagnosed with High functioning Autism.
I’m at a total loss as to what to eat anymore and was diagnosed and hospitalised with Beri Beri ( severe thiamine deficiency) from malnutrition last year.
I fast a lot and those fasting days are the only ones I don’t feel any pain. I truly don’t know what to safely eat and now I have been diagnosed with an eating disorder called ARFID ( Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) 😢
I just got diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. The year leading up to that I was consuming A LOT of soy protein isolates and malodextrin because I was weightlifting. I honestly wonder if there’s a correlation
the vegan biches say soy is a superfood. hope you learnt the lesson
Wow. I'm eating a lot of foods I thought were ok but in reality are bad for my liver. Disturbing but great information.
My old saying. If food comes in a box , it's probably not too good. Thanks Doc, love your videos 😊
Yeah: it's so much better when it comes in an estrogen-coated wax wrapper, inside a paper bag at the drive-thru window!
Nature is pretty good at making toxic foods too. If the plants don't get you the micro bugs will.
Frosted Flakes aren't good!?
Brah even peanuts and corn are bad for liver apparently. I give up.
I'd rather eat fresh peas.
I have subscribed. You are a gem sharing your knowledge with us "little people". Thank you so much for your great content.
I followed a 40-30-30 (i.e. The Zone Diet) plan starting from my 20s where the sweetener recommended for all of the smoothies, desserts, salad dresssings, sauces, etc. was granulated fructose. Also all of the smoothies contained whey protein and fruit and 30% healthy fats from nuts, Avocados, etc. But very little animal fat.. I had always been overweight and when I started the plan, I would always lose 20 pounds or so and come to a standstill even though I always exercised. The constant yoyoing made me sicker over the years. Ended up losing my thyroid and going from overweight to obese as I got older. Had no idea I was hurting my body. Now that I am on a Keto diet, I've lost about 20 pounds but still struggle because my body is now so super sensitive to stress. No matter how much I try to watch my electrolytes, if something is ever so slightly off, I get heart palpitations from low mag or potassium or bloating from too much salt. If I try to take Dr. Berg's liver formula along with the gall bladder formula, my heart races out of my chest and I have air hunger (feeling like I can't get enough air), anxiety, uncontrollable foot tapping and nervous energy (with no caffeine involved). My heart and pulse would also race. And twice I found out that my body can't handle the rapid weight loss and stress of a prolonged 3 day fast. I feel good tge first two days but when I come off it with the recommended small amounts of nutrionally dense foods, my body acts like I've cruelly mistreated it and responds with palpitations, diarrhea, and just feeling plain bad. I loved how the fast made me feel but my body can't handle it and I'm only 53 and I've exercised and tried to take care of myself (with the knowledge I had at the time) since I was a twenty-something. My heart really goes out to people who have accidentally hurt their bodies because they did not have good information. I do find that if I don't drink too little or too much water and I take 300 to 600 mg of benfotiamine, I feel relaxed and no palpitations. My body seems to like benfotiamine.
Thank you for all of this information
You're very welcome.
Thanks a lot Dr Berg for the great video and for the advice,, information and tips.😊👍👍👍👍👍
Though it's not always easy to avoid these seven things that your talking about as they have these things in almost all foods that were consuming. Though having said that on the other hand one should avoid junk food as much as you can if you can't cut it out totally.
This was super informative and I am so appreciative. I am forever learning from you Dr. Berg and I thank you
Dr Berg offers great advice and has helped heaps with general health, a good tip is to not eat any food which has numbers listed as ingredients and your Doctors visits will become very rare.
Thanks for health awareness
Sure. Glad I could help.
Most of the studies you referenced were done on mice, not humans.
The one study you referenced gave mice 252g/kg of whey protein. A serving of whey protein is 38g. So that means they were feeding these mice roughly 6 scoops of protein powder per day.
And even then there was only a correlation with liver damage.
You sir, are fear mongering.
Glad someone else pointed it out.
Excellent observation
He told you the reasons why its not good. Go back and rewatch it. One reason was it has gmo ingredients and additives. Its not the whey protein itself. Although it does spike insulin the fastest. Try harder please
@@DRAWDAILYchannel hell nah, as a researcher you should give the entire picture. Be objective at all cost, it is our duty to present facts and not a biased view
Thanks for that! People take anything for granted these days.
I probably drunk 3 protein powders a day over 20 years but liver readings have never been bad.
I knew I couldn’t be the only one
Yeah, I dont buy it either. Especially if it's a high quality whey
Very good info. Appreciate doc.❤
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
I really appreciate this video! Did not know that these foods were bad. I will be watching what I eat more closely now🙏🙏😱😱
Corn is a staple food in Southern Africa. We eat maize porridge every single day. I've recently cut it out. I've noticed that chronic disease like high blood pressure and diabetes seem to be a norm in my country. I was struggling to lose weight and felt lethargic. So I'm doing my best.
Literally, corn is eaten in so many different ways in Africa & nearly every day.. 🌍
Corn is NOT the problem. The problem is GMO corn and processed corn = corn syrup.
Stay away from grains. I know it’s your staple, but it’s killing you.
@@acharich corn is eaten much more in northen and south america. Corn flakes, pop corn, corn bread, corn flour, sweet corn, etc etc etc. america north and south consumes
Very true to that coz I am from Africa and I know what you mean exactly people use corn flour to make porridge and fufu (ugali) and I had to stop that since middle of 2022. honestly, ever since I switched to surghum ,yum, plantain or wheat flour I feel a lot better nowadays, so you should try that😀
Thank you a million times over for this video, Dr. Berg! I plan to schedule watching it once a month until the information is imprinted in my brain!
Wow! Thank you, Doc. for this very informative video. I just recently started drinking Glucerna not because I'm diabetic but because it is marketed as a healthy meal alternative or snack. I took a peek at the list of ingredients, and there they are: MILK PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, CANOLA OIL, FRUCTOSE, CORN MALTODEXTRIN, SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE, CORN OIL, and SOY FIBER. Just to name a few of the ingredients. Now, diabetics, it's time for you to STOP consuming this supposedly HEALTHY DRINK. IT'S leading you to your grave.
Thank you so much for this valuable information.
@@evelynhester989 You're welcome.
Thank you for the helpful tips on Healthy Living and getting a healthy liver best video I ever encounter.
Glad you found it so helpful!
Thank you for increasing awareness from Johannesburg South Africa 👍
Righto, I’m sticking to my water only diet. Thanks Dr Berg, you’ve convinced me the world’s trying to kill me.
No kidding. I have watched a lot of this guys videos and i am left wondering just what the hell i can eat, especially as someone who has high cholesterol
Everything out in the market is safe to eat. There are a ton of food out there, so you can diversify the food you eat and consume them moderately.
I'm licking my fingers from after having a Big Mac while reading your comment.
@@serigraph73 organic lettuce and mineral water. You will die anyway.
Actually, its the food market in the United States that is trying to kill you. The rest of the world doesn't eat this garbage.
thx doc! awesome info!!!!!!
You're welcome! Glad you found it useful!
I stopped listening to him a while ago. I was following what he said and was miserable ! I visited a holistic doctor and changed my diet. I am much happier! better relationship with my husband and blood work is normal. In moderation guys and gals.
I dont think one diet works for everyone. We all have different blood types. If it didn't work for you, then it's not the diet for you. We are all built differently. I tried vegan, didn't work for me. Tried carnivore, didn't work for me. Tried calories, didn't work for me. Liver diet works for me!
Very informative. Love the way Dr. Berg breaks things down.
You should see him on the dancefloor
Thanks a lot! I learned so much from your great videos. And it is good to see that it is worth to cook myself and dont buy these industrial foods with all the risky ingredients. Greetings from Germany
Thank you Dr. Eric
Thanks berg more quality info 🙏
Glad you found it helpful!
Excelente vídeo! Informações fundamentais que normalmente não estão a nosso alcance e fazem muita diferença. Grata!
I would be hesitant in saying whey protein powder causes liver inflammation. The study used in the rats shows a major of confounding biases in the fact that the rats that were given long term protein had a increase in body weight over 25% in 4 weeks, their initial weight going from a mean of 173.85 grams to 227.64 grams. That's like some who is 200lbs going to 250lbs in 4 weeks. There will be an increase in inflammatory markers for anyone that gains weight that quick. Plus the rats were not exercising which is what a majority of people using whey protein do, they loose weight instead of gain weight like this study. There is a recent study from 2020 called
Effect of Whey Protein Supplementation on Inflammatory and Antioxidant Markers, and Clinical Prognosis in Acute Ischemic Stroke (TNS Trial): A Randomized, Double Blind, Controlled, Clinical Trial
In this study, humans are given 20grams of whey protein after an Ischemic Stroke over 3 weeks. It showed inflammatory markers actually went down after the 3 weeks.
I'm sure there is a lot of good information in these videos but I would recommend anyone who wants to learn more about specific issues to google and look up information themselves to make a better informed choice. There are a lot of garbage protein powders out there full of sugars, but there are a lot that are good high quality protein that me and many people I know have been using for years. Goodluck on your fitness goals everyone
thanks, i was hoping there'd be a comment like this to give some balance. I like Dr bergs videos but of course its always good to seek information contrary to his opinion so were making more informed decisions.
@@The_Ultravisitor He seems to have a lot of good information but this was something I wanted to look more into because I drink 2 protein shakes a day just to try and hit my daily protein requirement. I just got my blood work done and everything was perfect. I'd suggest looking into a good quality ISOLATE protein even though they are a bit more expensive
Big facts..that was a joke...a quality whey isolate protein (grass fed )even better is good and all scientific papers and researchers say that is safe and good...now of u over do it then it’s ur fault..not whey
Theres always hemp protein instead
@@chilled99 its an option, I'd say unless you are severely lactose intolerant or follow a plant based diet, I would stick to a good quality isolate protein
I think that natural source of protein is all time better than packaged. Thanks Dr berg for your great video 👍
What is your opinion about egg white protein powder, beef protein powder, collagen protein powder, etc? Thanks.
