    *I replaced a decent mattress **MyseIf.Furniture** with gel topper which (primarily the topper) had been getting softer more frequently. Which is, it was losing its hold I had come to appreciate and I had been rotating far more frequently than usual with the thought of it eventually serving not much purpose.*

    I’m got a P5 on sale, it’s almost twice the price now. I’m now thinking about getting the adjustable bed head only. I’ve tried one from another company and I don’t use the feet nor did I like the zero gravity setting. I love sleeping with my head raised a bit and raised for watching TV. I didn’t care for the massage feature or the USB ports because of the location of them which was underneath the frame.

    We actually bought 3 mattresses over the past four years and also bought the adjustable base which we used with all 3 mattresses. We finally caved in and bought a Sleep Number I8 with the full adjustable base and after tons of exhausting research, you get what you pay for. We absolutely love our Sleep Number I8 smart bed with the adjustable base head, middle and heated foot area. Fantastic bed all around! Yes it was expensive even after getting their annual sale but worth every penny! Just be prepared to move your previous adjustable base (if you have one), as the Sleep Number installers will move your mattress, but they won’t touch your adjustable base. So plan ahead accordingly.

      @kianaraine  Před 2 lety

      Hi! Thank you so much. We got the PSE. It’s in the performance series, but it’s more comparable to the i8 since it’s thicker and not as soft as the P6. It was a special edition they had during one of their big holiday sales.

  • @ellenhofer3343
    @ellenhofer3343 Před rokem +2

    I totally agree. Do not buy these mattresses based on price.
    My husband did that and got the cheapest one they had. He hates it. I got mine in 2009 or 2006 and has a zippered cover that holds several layers of foal (one being an egg crate style foam and is easily replaced by just buying a new obe - much cheaper than a new bed).
    You must lay on the beds and put them through their paces and do not let the sales person try to rush you.

    • @d.fer5
      @d.fer5 Před 2 lety +4

      You can. It just has to have the mattress support at the foot. Sleep number uses magnets but the bracket at the foot keeps it stable. We have an adjustable from Denver Mattress since we tried Purple mattress first. Couldn’t return the adjustable frame but its of because its half the price as Sleep number and can be used with this mattress. We will never leave Sleep Number. It’s the perfect mattress.

    Interesting. We didn’t get an adjustable base. Had a family and friends discount. From an employee so it was the max discount 50% off the mattress.
    We both are slide sleepers, so base wasn’t needed and it did save us thousands.
    The salesperson said she does give her friends and family out sometimes. So can ask and see. We got it from a friend.
    If at all can get that or ask for it, that’s the best discount. We got an i8, everything we wanted, and no base.
    So far so good. Got a Queen and the customization is really helping.

      There are cords, plugs, and pumps under the base that need room to be plugged in. I wouldn’t recommend putting your base on the floor for that reason so you don’t ruin any electrical parts. However, the lowest height is 12.5” which I would consider pretty low for a bed! I hope this helps

    Sleep Number customer service is horrible and based on my experience I would NEVER purchase one of their beds again. I've owned an i10 split king since 2015 and just recently noticed an air leak in one of the chambers. Called two stores in the area and neither of them was helpful. You have to call their 800 number or chat online to get any help. I do not understand that at all. The folks that sell the bed to you can't help you. Not sure if that's true with a brand new bed but it is with one that 6 years old.
    Once you spend an hour waiting for help on the phone you find out that you can order parts to fix it yourself. That's right, you get to fix it yourself. Apparently having a service tech come out and help you install the parts is off the table. I feel a bit uncomfortable taking something apart that I know nothing about but that's the only option that I have.
    I ordered the replacement chamber two weeks ago but it hasn't left the warehouse yet. It's not like this is a part that's just nice to have and it's OK if it arrives in a few weeks. This is a part that's integral to the bed and is used every night. So here I am, waiting for parts, not able to get a service tech to help me install those parts with an expensive bed that's unusable. I call that totally unacceptable and lousy customer service. Had I known then what I know now I would never have bought the bed. Don't make the same mistake that I did.
    Any suggestions for a decent adjustable split king for a person with lower back issues? I would appreciate them.
