  • Step by step guide on How to Replace The Rear Shocks on a B7 Audi A4. I replaced the blown rear shocks and also installed some new bump stops. This should be applicable on the Audi A4 quattro's from these years 2002-2008.

Thanks for the video. Well demonstrated and explained.
Can I recommend the use of a protectant before reassembly. The shock mounting bracket was starting to corrode (covered in white powder). I swear by a product we have in Australia "Inox" - essentially a marine WD-40 that leaves a light oily residue. Another heavier product is "Lanox" which leaves a heavier oily residue (though it smells like mutton fat because of the lanolin). Rather than do nothing, just spray the general area in either - especially the underside.
After living in Colorado for a year, I was horrified by the rust on American vehicles (some of which wouldn't get registered for the road in Queensland Australia!) - obviously a result of salting the roads because of snow and ice.
This could also be used on bolts, EXCEPT where locktite is needed. I do use a lot of copper-eze (grease) if I anticipate having the remove the nut or bolt regularly.
I have the opportunity to get an A4 B7 wagon for free ... but apparently the shocks are gone... hence the online "research".

I know this is unrelated, but can you describe the process of a transmission fluid change on a B7 A4 Quattro? You are obviously very knowledgeable and there are no good videos on this topic. Thanks.
