So crazy ^^ When the first extended dvd box came out for The Fellowship, I used to rewind the parts where Alan Lee was talking. This was before the invention of youtube. Glad someone got the right idea!
I may have to do a 10 hour version with other snippets ive collected from discs, radio and youtube shorts!
Years ago before discovering what ASMR was I edited audio of Alan Lee and John Howe from the Lord of the Rings designers commentary track. I used to fall asleep to that recording regularly but lost the edited recording years ago. Thank you for posting!!! 👍😀
I need to borrow disc 3 from Lotr Rotk extended edition off someone. I couldnt copy the gallery file containing Alan Lee's voice over to do a new 10 hour version video!
Any update on a potential john Howe ASMR video? :)
Back during my High School years I had some pretty bad insomnia. My mother was a huge LOTR fan and had the ROTK DVD, while I had a small portable DVD player in my room. I'd sneak the ROTK collector's edition into my room and put on Alan Lee's commentary over his art gallery and just pass out in half an hour. This video brings back some memories and is helping me to sleep all over again. Thanks.
Funny you should mention the art gallery commentary... that's whats coming next
Check out the two recent omes i ripped from the collectors dvd and happy dreams!
This is amazing. Not only he talks really interesting things but also relaxes. Thank you
They may be TWO morw videos to come along....
New one this sunday.
30 mins long!!!
this takes me back, lol. my dad is a huge fantasy nerd and we watched lotr together all the time. he always insisted on watching the commentary tracks after we finished the actual movies. i always complained bc i found them horribly dull, and would usually fall asleep quite quickly. looking back i’m fairly certain it was his way of getting me to bed without much hassle 😂
I'm glad these highlights bring back memories of time with your dad - lord of the zees!
I love listening to that commentary track because of his voice and John Howe. But then there's some other dude who's voice is the complete opposite of relaxing and sounds like the guy who did the show about the lifestyles of the rich and famous. He practically yells everything he says. Thanks for extracting just the audio with Alan Lee!
Your in luck, dude!
A new video (but old unused material off dvd) with Alans voice this sunday. 30 mins long!
@@Moochtv Nice! Thanks man!
@@the7percentsolution No problem, pal!
Alex that was Richard Taylor,he sounds like he is reading his responses. Does kinda sound like Robin Leach though, lol
I've been waiting 10 years for this. Thanks!
This is my exact response.
New Episode available!

Enjoy!
One unintentionally hilarious effect of these edits is how the focus on Alan Lee often makes it seem he's soft spokenly cutting Grant Major off, not letting him get a word in apart from "yeah".
Could be worse.
Could be unintentional earache and have Richard Taylor speaking, with his thick New Zealand accent!
on the Dvd i just loved listening to his voice and seeing his beautiful work!
Thank you so much!!!
It feels like so long ago (18 years?) but I would put the commentary from fellowship on every night to fall asleep to, my brain would focus in on Alan and John and tune out the rest of the voices. I could basically recite this almost word for word I listened to it so many times. Great memories, thanks.
Ive done a few Alan vdeos so make sure you catch them all! Please subscribe so you wont miss the John Howe ep ive got planned. Thanks for watching
Thank you for this!
Your welcome!
It was great but I actually fell out of my bed at the end when the volume went SSHHHOOOWWMMM up
God it does as well.
Thats probably because i added it at last second to cap off end of hours of editing all of Alan's bits from 3 movies. It felt like id been mordor!
Last few videis i skipped any music ques
You need to do John Howe!!!!
The thumbnail is terrifying
But it worked and got noticed!
Yes! This is superb mate. Thank you very much for the effort! Perhaps if you have time you could edit together all the Alan Lee commentary for all the pieces of art that's on the blu ray extras?
I don't own the blu rays unfortunately. If the extras are same as dvds thrn i mivht but its already been done in clips but ill consider it (i lost the two towers disc with concept art) but i will considrer it.
Oh f*** it, why not!
New one this sunday.
30 mins long!!!
#conceptart
I wanted to listen to this to help me fall asleep but i fell in love with LOTR world so much, that every time i hear those beautiful songs, even in the background, my breath just fades so much and i feel like someone squeezes my heart.... Its... Weird yet beautiful at the same time... Just sayin😌😌😌
Try the 9 hours videos of Alan in the Alan Lee ASMR playlist on this channel!
I also felt Grant Major had a relaxing voice to listen to.
"Gandalf has three staffs..."
He didn't have three staffs...he had three *staves* .
NERRRRRRD
Version with John Howe would be great to
Would have been awesome if the volume didn't skyrocket at the end there, but otherwise, great work.
Thats so you can wake up after a 45 min sleep!
I may put together a 10 hour version with other Alan material minus any music ques for a full nights tingley sleep!
Too much background conversation ( movie) to really hear what he is saying.
I know but these are extracts from the dvds. Listen to the 9 hour versions also on my channel. No background chatter! Your welcome!
