- How is the marathon just 2 weeks away!? Although I'm feeling all kinds of emotions having watched Manchester and London marathon over the last two weeks, I'm so excited to finally, after what feels like so long (over a year), be running my 2nd Marathon in Copenhagen. In today's video I take you through a day int he life, training at 600ft feet, and towards the end of the video I go into detail about how training has been going and if I think I'm ready to toe the line!

No matter what happens Phily. Your decision to take a risk and go for it is the most important thing. I'm pulling for you every step of your cadence.
Regardless whether you make 2:28 or not, I admire you for taking the leap and quitting your job to follow your passion. It's easy to stay in your comfort zone and then wonder what if years later. Good luck in Copenhagen!
LET'S GO PHILY!!! Love your personality and work ethic!!!! 👏❤
Just want to say Philly that I really enjoy how you treat running and that you inspire me a lot! Not half as good as you, but back in HS I did see some success by going to Footlocker Nationals and getting close to breaking 17 minutes (17:08 darn it) in the 5k, but really struggled with the transition to collegiate running with mental health and lingering EDs. I am turning 26 this year and trying to get back into consistent running for fun and see where it takes me and I've been really motivated by your vlogs and your somewhat relatable story. Good luck and have fun! :)
I’d say you are pretty good… 👍 good luck getting back in
@@RobE8475 Thank you! I appreciate it :)
Wow, awesome runner, glad you can enjoy it and stay healthy
@@lizzyg4817 thank you, I will :)
Phily, from the day your first video appeared on my feed, you have been nothing but inspirational. I really wish you the greatest success, you deserve it.
Living the dream, loving the grind?
I've a feeling that coach will have scheduled a long run for me that day so I'll aim to run it virtually with you, although not at similar pace and duration... Enjoy the taper, don't go insane!
I think when most of us amateurs watch a race with elites in it we don’t fully appreciate everything that goes into that performance . Thank you for showing the process. Keep inspiring us , know that there is lots of support from the community of runners that follow you:-)
Good luck Philly with your marathon. You deserve a 2.28 with all the work you've put in.
Haven't run any races in years. But when I did, my A goal was always to NOT have to cross the finish line on a rolling stretcher. 😟😟 I started running at 27. I'm now 71. My new A goal is to continue outrunning the heart surgeon. 🤣🤣Love you're spirit and enthusiasm. 😜😜 Be safe. Be well. May all your ups and downs have only soft landings.🙏🙏
So inspiring, I hope you make it to the olympics.
I just finished the Tuesday session of your 10k high volume training and it’s week 5! It’s been so fun. I did the repeat of the week 1 Tuesday intervals and every split was a lot better than week 1. The last 4x400 was almost a full minute per mile faster pace. I feel really good about running the 10k at my goal pace now.
I hope you post more trainings on your site I would definitely do more of them. I think I might do another 10k in fall then do a half marathon in winter.
Don't forget to run past Lai da Staz (or, in german: Stazersee). In my opinion the most beautiful spot in Europe!
Quite new to your channel, thoroughly enjoying the content and humour. Good luck with project 2:28 in Copenhagen. From the work you’ve put into it, you deserve the win! 👍
Wishing you a Wonderful Wonderful Copenhagen Marathon 🏃♀️
The tuna+pasta+ketchup combo is absolutely a win in my books! Nice and safe pre-long run food :) The very best of luck in Copenhagen next weekend! I ran it last year, it's a nice route through the city (on quite narrow streets at times though so things got a bit tight down at my end of the race!). Thank you for the fun, positive and down-to-earth content, and for taking us with you on your journey to qualify for the olympics!
I just smashed my sub 3:30 goal on only a month of specific marathon training, you have put the work in and I believe you have it in you ❤❤
I think you got this! And even if you don't hit your top goal I think you're still going to do REALLY well, especially if the 5k race is anything to go by!
Also using your own saliva for your HRM isn't gross. However, prepping someone else's...
I'm sure you got this Phily. A friend of mine is doing the Copenhagen Ironman later in the year, so he be swimming 3.8km, then 180km bike ride,then42.2km run. He trained for this for a whole year for this.
Taper is the best part of the training!!
Let's go Phily 🎉🎉
Enjoying watching your preparation for Copenhagen Phily. Good luck with the race 👍🏻😊
Good luck on your marathon. Don't think too much about it, it will work. I ran the Hamburg marathon last week, because on friday I got drunk and bought a ticket on saturday morning, still being drunk. With only doing your 5k trainingplan in novemver and december as my preparation and then "tapering" for 4 month, that was probably not the smartest idea I ever had, but I still finished. Sure, my goals were a little bit lower than yours, but whenever you feel pain during the race, just think of this 100kg, 35 year old, who ran a marathon with one day of notice, and be sure, that your pain is probably not that awful :D
I am sure you will run a great time.👍
Tuna pasta, run fasta! Good luck on that long run =]
Genuinely impressed with the wardrobe transition
Love the running footage, the background scenery is sensational.
Another great video. You never improve by staying in your comfort zone. Good on you for taking this chance. Also, ketchup improves everything (except for porridge).
Living your goals, such an inspiring 🎉
Your an inspiration to up and coming runners such as my self🤙, keep up the great work!
Goodluck Phily! wish you all the best
Comments??? What comments.........doesn't everyone put catsup on pasta? Thanks for taking us along on the grind.
Good luck! Yes you are 👏
Wow you have a great singing voice!
I love these videos. I'm glad you didn't risk it with that slush!
Best of luck, your going to be awesome ❤
You’ll smash it Philly!! Good luck ❤
Hope the marathon goes to plan! However, red sauce on pasta is NOT OKAY 😱
Go for it and good luck
Somehow I just found your Instagram. Didn't realize I wasn't already following you!
Which HR monitor do you use?
Good luck for Copenhagen!!
I was watching the part were you were scrubbing the inside of your cup. I just pop dawn soap in my cup and thread the cap back on and shake the hell out of it. xD
I can attest to the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v12. Those shoes are so comfy for easy/long runs.
3:45 honestly relatable
Good luck and break a leg*!
* please don't, hurts like hell ;-)
Copenhagen we are good for launch in T-minus…
Enjoying watching your journey. I'll be doing my first marathon in November...NYC (lottery winner)! I won't be anywhere near your time (hoping for sub 6) but I still find a lot of value in your videos.
Curious what tea you drink... Wanna see if I can find it in the US. Thanks!
What a journey so far, loved watching your videos entertaining and thought provoking….will there be a link for the marathon race ? Thank you
Hey phily great vid as always. I have a 10k race coming up in june and im hoping to go sub 50 for the first time ever. Would it be worth my while doing a taper week?? Im 50 years old
was that tuna and ketchup pasta?
Maaaaaaaybe 👀
I really love your videos and you seem such a great girl you really deserve to get to the Olympics. X
Two weeks time ❤ go smash it 👍 5 more days of work for me and flying out ✈️ on Tuesday 9th 🇩🇰🤞🙂
Phily, you know we all love you, but that tuna pasta looked disgusting. You definitely need to take Daniel with you next time you do a training camp. That's the first thing. Second thing is to say I am pulling for you to make that A goal of 2:28. When you get to the start corral, as you say, you will have done everything you can in training and preparation. You know you have the grit and mental toughness. I hope though you take a few moments to let go of all the nervous energy and just take in where you are and to enjoy that really special moment. You know all of us 21K followers will be with you.
24 miles 2 weeks out?! That’s an aggressive workout!
ah it was 3 weeks out, I should have watched a bit longer!
Need to know where your pyjamas are from! 😫
How do I check your results on the day of the marathon
I’ll make the marathon public in Strava for sure, but there should also be live results (and tracking I think) on the Copenhagen Marathon website
2:26:?? My prediction. Btw why did you chose Copenhagen instead of London?
Do you have recommendations for a good brand of tea, since you seem to be the expert? 😁
Don’t call the police 👮♀️ but I had to watch u putting that anti chaff on 3 times …… honestly Philly ur face 😂😂😂😂
the ketchup
I love the idea that somewhere in a parallel universe, there's an ex pro athlete who stopped to follow their dream of working in the civil service 😂.
Good luck for Copenhagen!
My prediction for your time: 2:30/2:31
Lol using TimTheTatmans putto music 😂
Could someone explain why elite runners run in slots and not at the same time?
Spacing them out so they have a better chance of hitting the racing line as well as putting people in to pacing groups so they have a better chance of running well together
They do run as a group typically, but everyone in the camp had to share the same treadmill that day.
😲
Doesn't everyone have tomato sauce on their pasta 🤷
You have the advantage of “ living the life as an elite runner “ alas, at times, you come across really negative .
You have the opportunity to do something “ training FT as an athlete “ yet, you give off so many bad vibes.
Just enjoy what you have and what it might produce, further down the line .
Just be happy you are healthy, able to run ……..
😀👍
