    Super helpful video on this power supply. My wife and I are in the planning stages of non-RV nomad-boondocking using a Starlink and something like this unit to power it. Since I'm a novice at this I'm still determining our actual power requirements for something like Starlink, USB-C WiFi router, two MacBook laptops, two iPhone 13's, electric razor, etc. not all charging at the same time.

    Of all the several brands of power banks I own I wish I owned this particular unit. For me the Pecron E3600LFP checks all the boxes I have been looking for in one power bank. Love the multiple DC input ports. I can use my solar saga 100W panel, my 2- 160W panels, and my 2- 220W bifacial to charge this unit and with some adapters I could use the linx solar panels too . With all the solar panels I can definitely charge this unit in any given solar day while using it.
    Also love the DC outputs. I have found that I get an extra 2 hours of run time using the 5521 5V port when I connect my Dometic CFX3 45qt 12V fridge or my setpower 45Qt fridge as they each use less than 60W to run. Just buy a 5521 adapter with a female 12V cigarette plug for it. Also love the fact that it will actually run a diesel heater whereas many power stations will not. I really really like this unit. Had this video come out a couple of weeks earlier I definitely would have bought it. I just ordered the EG4 inverter and battery to build a diy power bank for fun. Great, great video as always,....thanks for sharing.

      Just another update. It's been charging via solar fine from 8% to 62% at around ~550 Watts. When it reached 62% @11:29 am, the input was only 8 W (86.0v @ 0.1A). You would think that it would not charge properly, but now at 12:03 it shows 97% with an input of 17W (85.3v @ 0.2A). My panels are rated at 400W each, so not even in ideal circumstances this wouldn't have been possible. Basically it was at 1900 Wh at 11:29 am, and it got to 3,010 wh at 12:03. As I finish writing this email it got to 100%. I took screenshots along the way and I will write an email to Pecron and see if there is a software update or something that needs to fix this bug.
      And yes, I changed the ports, both of them showing the same numbers.

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před měsícem +5

      I actually did have a clip that covered that, but I guess I forgot to include it...but basically, there's a menu option in the Input/Output settings where you can specify the max state of charge when running in UPS mode. Nice for when you want to use it continually in UPS mode without constantly keep the SOC at 100% and stressing the battery cells more than necessary. And then there's another setting for max charge and discharge settings so you could, say, set the max discharge to 20% and the max charge to 90%, and thereby extend the long-term service life.

    Great review -- thank you! I have 4 Harbor Freight 100W solar panels. Can i configure them for this or do I need new panels? If so, what rating and how many do you recommend? (I have the E2000 LFP with 2 batteries. Never had good luck with solar recharging on that one. It seemed to take FOREVER and only got 200-250W.) And, I will need new batteries for the e3600LFP since I don't want to be a goober and use 24V on 3600LFP and blow up my house! :) Thank you!

    I just bought a 3600lfp and 4 solar panels. They haven’t been delivered yet.
    I bought them to supplement my two electric vehicles and a third very soon. If those panels start producing more electricity then I need for the vehicles, is there some battery unit they sell to store the extra electricity ?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před měsícem +2

      Seems unlikely that you'll produce more power than you need for your EVs with just 4 solar panels :P But they do have a battery expansion option for this E3600LFP. www.pecron.com/products/pecron-ep3000-expansion-battery-3072wh#ref=110

    Any suggestions on solar panels that will work well with this for household use?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před 23 dny +1

      For household use, I'd definitely go with rigid panels so you can keep them out in the weather without worrying about it. As far as which specific brand/model - doesn't matter a whole lot, really, as long as your configuration keeps below the max 150V input on both XT60 connectors. Where to buy will depend on how many panels you're looking to buy. Signature Solar is great, but they typically require a minimum of 10 panels, unless you live in TX and can pick them up. BougeRV has a good 200W option in the TopCon N-Type series and you can buy them 1 at a time if you want.

    29:10 What’s needed to get 240v AC? Two base units plus a phase combiner/outlet box?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před měsícem

      Yeah it'll be a box with an L14-30R on it, and 2 cables coming off of it that connec to the TT-30R ports on the main units - which would have a sync cable between them (connecting to that RJ45 port on the left side).

      @737smartin yeah since it's a 30A max, they're using the L14-30R. You could get an adapter cable to the L14-50 but you're obviously stuck with the 30A max.

    • @robertbryant173

      It should if you use two and the 240 volt converter box. But I would still recommend installing a soft start. Less startup surge helps the compressor last longer and saves energy upon startup.
