    The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

    Ohhh, how I miss the days of great black performers . Fabulous voices, beautiful clothes, brilliant choreography.. nobody could match them.
    So why are so many now screeching obscenities about rape and murder, and dressed like total deadbeats? You couldn't pay me to attend that sort of garbage, but back in the 60s, I would've sold my soul to attend ANY concert by black artistes.

    • @delirous8
      @delirous8 Před 2 lety +3

      They were the greatest performers unmatched and really changed society and made it better. People take it for granted the contributions of Black performers but they inspired everyone. People take good things for granted. People won't learn to appreciate something until it leaves them.
      Another is that music industry is no good and has stolen from lot of Black artists. Plagarism across the board, no royalty checks and ripping off Black performers. Black artists today don't care about creating music just what sells. Why produce gold when you can produce for crap for cheap, more money and no effort.
