    Them Italians ain’t never experienced nothing like James and that nonstop pulsing beat and thrashing horns , especially when he played Soul Power , I bet when they went home they had to have a drink and talk about what in the hell did we experience , a black tornado of sound and energy blew through the stage !

    It's true - he was the hardest working man in showbiz. Saw him in Miami Beach in 94 at Prince's club Glam Slam. He moved like that on stage for 3 hours+.

    I'm Italian, I was 6 in 1971 and I remember very few things. One is the match of the soccer world cup Italy - Brazil, played the previous year, with Pele on the pitch. Another is this fantastic performance. You must know that, in those years, the audience on TV could not move, they could not get up, they could only applaud on command. Then came James Brown.

      Cool man. I'm from Cincinnati and 11 in 1971. The Godfather cut so many record out of Cincinnati we thought he was from Cincinnati. To this day he is my favorite 🎵 artist. His legacy is sealed in popular music. He's Super bad.

    I literally teared up when James walked off stage and went into the "all white" audience and shook peoples hands, and made that human CONNECTION.

      She has been rewarded "Singer of the Century" by BBC.
      She died just a month ago at 91 yo. The mayor of Rio de Janerio proclamed three days of sorrow.
      For many years she was married to fotboll star Garrincha.
      In Brazil, and other latino countries, she was as big of a star you can be.
      She did everything 100 % her entire life.

    Everything is right about this, James and Bobby's chemistry was crazy together, the hard hitting bass lines, the drummer, the horn section, the dancer in the back, the afros, the tempo of the music........this showmanship we will never see. Thankful for growing up to this man in my life and for youtube being able to save these moments!

    OH MY! I lived in Roma for 20 Years,but I missed that Concert! Europeans LOVED James Brown as they LOVED Josephine Baker! I saw Duke Ellington however, and his Orchestra at the Coliseum and let me tell you,TEARS IN MY EYES! Like This! Thank You!

    I am saddened by two things...one is that a GIGANTIC performer like james brown has passed away ...the second is the condition of italian TV programs at the presente momnt. we had only two channels at the time and we were full of music and culture .     I attended a James Brown performance with many other Soul, Rythm and Blues performers in 1968 I was 15 yrs old, at the Santa Clara County fairgrounds, SanJose, California.

      My sister took us to see him at the Apollo in NYC when we were kids. We acted the fool and had the best time dancing and screaming. 😊😊😊

    I saw James Brown after he sobered up in the 90's. Most energy at a live show I've ever attended. Everyone was up dancing the whole show. Truly the hardest working man in show biz. The band was killer James still had the moves. Funk at its finest. RIP the Godfather of soil.

    My sister and I saw the Great James Brown at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theatre in the late “70’s - we were young teenagers.., it was electrifying and we were So excited.
    Will never forget it.
    James Brown was THEEEEEE Master Performer and his band was the greatest.👏🏼👍🏼💪🏽💕

      December25 2006 my musical idol and inspiration died , Mr. James Brown. I cried when he passed away after so many years of being The Godfather Of Soul and Hardest Working Man In Show Business! Rest in Peace J.B.

      @@MrChristian Yeah he was so chilled. My girl and I met him backstage in dressing room here in England. She was talking his ear off and (I think to change the subject ) he said to me " hey brother, What's your name?" Coolest 2 seconds of my entire life! I was kinda star stuck and cannot even really remember what I said but I just remember Roy looking directly at me and that's just pure gold.
