This trick followed all the rules of FU. No stooges and no preshows. When watching this live, Penn and Teller paused the show to consult with the producers to clarify the trick fell within the show rules. The mere fact that it fooled them and millions of other people proves that this was a brilliant piece of work that accomplished exactly what it was designed to do. Well done.
Kind of surprised that this fooled Penn and Teller, because the fact that it was so simple and impossible made it obvious where the trick was done.
It was fabulous, beautiful trick Emily, that was staring them in the face the whole time!
I think it was on the line of instant stooge.
You can see the guy volunteer wince, but try to compose himself because he wanted to abide by her request. That's pretty close to if not the definition of an instant stooge. A grey area if nothing else.
She handled the volunteer very well by putting her hand up and immediately repeating the number. This discretely but clearly and firmly communicated exactly what he was expected to do. A subtle move that was deceptively important to the success of the trick, as was the placement of the microphone and the cadence of the question.
For a trick that was kind of overly long, a whole lot happens in a very few seconds to ensure the stooge does what is needed.
That was fantastic! That's the dream, right there. No idea.
I loved the performance, she was so good on stage too, confident, funny, and I have not a clue how she did it.
God, why does the audio sound like they recorded it from the bottom of a porta potty?
All that matters is that this was a great performance of a great piece of magic!
Great work Emily 👏🏻
Penn and Teller should have been suspicious that no magician ever uses a hand held mic only head set. You can see the man didn't say 47.
Such a heartbreaking episode to watch one of my favourite show fall prey to corporate sponsor's diktats. No wonder, Penn and Teller could not upload Season 10 episode 19 on youtube and instead "accidentally" uploaded episode 1.
The FU segment is on this channel, but with comments turned off, why?
Until I read it here, I didn’t know it was in anyway controversial or that Penn stopped to check with the producers that rules were obeyed. It was a nice trick, P&T didn’t guess how it was done, trophy well deserved - what’s the problem?
Congratulations. FU is an excellent magic show and I think getting an FU trophy is always something special.
Comments on this are hilarious. Like the "difficulty" of a method is how you should judge an effect. People who know nothing about the performance of magic.
Instant stooge.
the fact that you cant figure out that the guy she got on stage became an accomplice without him knowing about it before hand then stop calling yourself a megician
What are you talking about? And who are you talking to?
He just said, NO STOOGE.
@@72A1D372 idd, he is no stooge, atleast not yet
@@weaq84 all the mig that say that this is cheating
@@NylaDDK They said it's not cheating
Very easy trick tho.. a 2yr old could do it
Only if you know the method which you don’t.
Someone already revealed the method! Very clever
@@jabax87its not the mic voiceover no stooges allowed
Literally just a pre recording in the microphone. Lame trick
Because you don’t like the method? You’re lame.
@kyleleon85 no the fact that it's something a 5 year old could do is what makes it lame. There's nothing magical about recording something and then playing it back. Takes absolutely no skill or practice to pull off.
@@damiencrews7603 magic isn’t about skill.
@@kyleleon85 ok ur just trolling now
@@damiencrews7603 no I’m not. I’m a magician and I believe this to be a valid method for stage and more specifically, this show. Not all methods are skill-based in the sense that they require a lot of dexterity and are difficult to execute. Effects that rely on mathematics or a principle rather than sleight of hand as the method are just as good and some would argue better, depending on the effect.
When I comes to creating an effect and an impossible moment, anything goes. There are no rules to the method of choice. Only ego gets in the way of this.
Totally violates the "rules" of FU. But 100% sticks to the script of pre-determined winners . Good TV is good TV after all. The fact that the only way Jilette can defend himself is by attacking the intelligence of other magicians is low-brow.
I fall in ❤ with her beauty 😍🥰before i fall in ❤ with her magic... 🧚🏻♂️💫✨🪄🪬🔮✴️🔶
Her appearance spells worked QUICKER than her magic tricks spells..😁😅
