    Not at all surprised to see these results. Kipruto just beat Kipchoge in Boston- why wouldn’t he beat him again? Kipchoge is the GOAT but to think that he can maintain his supremacy indefinitely is totally unrealistic. There are now a whole bunch of young hungry runners coming up who are just faster. Good for Kipchoge for finishing. He is a true role model for the sport.

    • @evona9747
      @evona9747 Před 2 měsíci +1

      kipchoge does not think he can maintain his supremacy and he is not unrealistic, what makes him great is his humility. from a man who started with nothing , being raised with a single mum and running to school , he knows what it is to have little and he is not afraid, neither unrealistic to know what it is to loose or have little. He is is a man not afraid to pass on the baton , and thanks to him the dream is ali e for many African runners just like the late Kiptum. 24 years who died in a car accident.

    Benson Kipruto is not that unknown before this race he had won 2 major marathons. They started of fast but Eliud is getting older and with age you also get more little pains. The marathon is unpredictable and I would not be surprised if Eliud experienced some kind of discomfort and with age this is likely to happen more often.

    To me he is the marathon GOAT. He has done it and ran a sub 2 at Monza. He can bow out and let the younger fresh blood take the baton and reach new heights. It's unfortunate that the best candidate to run a sub 2 in a race passed away, but these young guns give me hope!
    I think Kipchoge needs to be a bit more realistic and set lower time goals in future marathons and stick to slightly slower pacing. A possible reason for not dropping out of the race is the TV time and sponsor contracts. He was the only competitor running in the Ineos kit, so after the pacers left, he could not stop. I really hope he does well in possibly his last ever Olympic marathon with a realistic chance to win.

This is just A scene of Eliud , having no choice, but to bow to life, and the new talent. Eliud can now only win if he goes by the perfect pacing book.....

    lets see he ran the first half in a little over 1 hour, and the second half in almost 107. Even though Kipchoge ran a sub 207 even though it still is an incredibly fast time it was a disaster. People say it was age blah blah blah. I don's see old men running that fast. Sorry. I don't buy it. The man had an off day. He still has it. Lets enjoy the show while the man is still running, one day he will hang it up. But for now lets enjoy his greatness, and stop giving excuses for him. He is better than that and deserves our respect.

    “Dreadful time”… 2:06 marathon 😂😂😂! If that’s dreadful where does that leave 90% of runners 😢

  • @luckymaluleke
    @luckymaluleke Před 2 měsíci

    To expect Kipchoge to win all races is unrealistic. As he gets older, younger athletes will continue to improve their times and win races. Two athletes ran under 2H03 which tells you that there is nothing suspicious about the first 5 kms fast time.

    Answer this a real marathon. Not a control race like his used to running. In other words no cheating on a real marathon.

    You never know but have to assume some guys up front are doping. And at some age it doesn't matter how you train, your body starts to tell you no. I think Kipchoge has reached that age.

    Even Kelvin Kiptum was once a nobody in the marathon. So dont judge these guys for starting to beast.

    Kipchonge come from a tribe where they run for fun. Is the rest of the world that worry about him he is not bothered win or lose he was running.as a Kenyan we are simple people who believe in mentoring the young and watch them flourish I won’t be surprised he was just escorting them to victory is a known trick for Kenyans. I hate when ppl think the can figure out Kenyans. Our principles don’t change. If u know the meaning of niwachie na mimi tafadhali u will know why kipchohe didn’t win the rest matuhuhu

    No one will be close to 2hrs at Paris with that elevation gain and temperatures. Times will probably be closer to 2:10 than 2 hours. Suspicious? I don’t think they are doping. Perfect marathon conditions. Kipchoge just blew up. He’s 39. The others are younger and could handle the fast pace going out without blowing up as hard later.

    He lost because he's getting older- probably over 40 now depending on which false reports you hear about.

    Kipchoge didn't want to win or was paid to lose, easy no brainer. And to all saying "he's too old, the new younger runners " this and that, he's not done yet, just wait and see. New WR coming in from Eliud.

  • @paulfhoffman
    @paulfhoffman Před 2 měsíci

    The real reason is that Eliud Kipchoge is 39 years old. Inexorable decline begins around 37-38, dictated by biology.

    Kipchoge found out the day before the race that Trump ran a marathon course backwards wearing combat boots and a 50 pounds rucksack filled with rocks and he completed the course in less than 1hr 45 minutes while singing the anthem and quoting the Bible. 6'3" 215.

  • @griffin955

    "Real Reason" implying that a reason why someone doesn't win a marathon is for anything other than they ran too slow.
