- The European Parliament on April 11 refused discharge of the EU Council's budget until European leaders decide to support Ukraine with additional Patriot air defense systems, MEP Guy Verhofstadt said. The decision was supported by 515 MEPs, with 62 voting against it. As Russia intensified its attacks on Ukraine during the spring, the shortage of air defenses is increasingly felt in Ukrainian cities. Kyiv has been urging allies to provide Ukraine with more air defenses, in particular, with U.S.-made Patriot systems that can intercept ballistic missiles.

The real problem is the tribalization of politics, foreign policy should not be about right vs. left, it should be about what is best for America, and helping Ukraine is what is best for America. Dear Anna I have written my congressmen, and I no longer talk to more than half of my family over support for Ukraine. I comment on multiple CZcams channels supporting Ukraine. I know these things are the LEAST I can do. My life is not in danger. I'm not risking my life in combat to support Ukraine. I do not wake up to air raid sirens. I simply do not understand many of my family and countrymen who do no support Ukraine. I will continue to support Ukraine. You have my word as a citizen of the world.

@@TheFrewahI don't think we get any deliveries till around 2035 if I remember correctly if it wasn't for our present so called government we would have been getting deliveries already the previous government ordered 86 and the clown running the country in 2016 canceled the order saying that the F35 was not what we needed then a couple of years back decided he should buy them so we ended up paying more money for less planes and something like a 10-12 waiting period
Although Canada doesn't have a (NASAMS). Canada in Jan 2023 purchased from the US a National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) and associated munitions to be donated to Ukraine. The United States will deliver the system on Canada's behalf, and updates on delivery will be provided in due course. It is now over a year later being April 2024 but the NASAMS hasn't been delivered to Ukraine.

Factories are a long term production solution. In the meantime 1.5 million 155mm shells sourced by Chezchia. 1 million 155mm shells sourced by Estonia. It’s down to European states to supply the funds.

If just one country donates a system others will follow.
France and Italy don't have Patriot systems at all. We have Mamba systems instead which are even better. We have very few of them. We gave 2 systems to Ukraine and they like them very much because when they launch two Patriot missiles they only need one Aster to do the job. Aster missiles are in very high demand these days but we can supply only so many.

I suggest somebody fund ten Patriot systems for Ukraine (only $11 billion). That would cover all the large cities which seem to be Putin's primary targets, with a few for the front-line areas.

Around 240 Patriot systems have been manufacfured, but many sit in warehouses instead of out saving Ukrainian lives. Contact your representatives to urge sending them.

I continue supporting Ukraine 🇺🇦. I am Belgian and I agreed in the 90’s that Ukraine should get rid of it’s nukes so they don’t get spread to rogue states. We also asked NATO for a no first use policy of nuclear weapons. So it hurts my heart when now USA is backing down on the promise of keeping Ukraine safe from invaders. I cannot say I appreciate it very much. But we are Europe, je suis un petit Belge, mais j’ai un grand frere
You are fully right I never understood the behavior of the 'supportive' allies, if the
time arrives when they will directly be involved in the war it turns out soon that it is much more 'expensive'....the more the hystorical lesson shouldn't be forgotten....

Thank you, Anna, and apologies for not being a billionaire. I would send more than the meager third of my salary each month... I can't understand the world not doing all that it could. It would have been possible to avoid so many Ukrainian losses - human, environmental, infrastructural, ... I can't comprehend. Ukraine needs everything. Each country - even the "neutral" ones could send something. As Pete from Project Konstantin quoted Desmond Tutu recently: "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”

Im frustrated. That after 2 years there are still discussions over discussions in Germany about the war and what we should do- or if we should do something (!!!). There are so many people that have fear of... not only escalation... but confrontation in general. There are people poisoned by propaganda or ideology. And people that just dont care as long as there is enough beer to drink and soccer to watch... Thank you, everyone that helps. Doesn't matter how much (cant do much myself sadly), every bit and every good thought is better than doing nothing.
It takes us all. United we stand.

If you enjoy birdsong they do thier singing when human activity is at a minimum so they can be heard better.. I love Blackbirds if you have them and recently I heard a description to identify various bird song of the woodpigeon which made me laugh it sounds like it's saying " I don't want to go" I heard this the other day and it made me chuckle once I'd established the rhythm of the woodpigeon call with the phrase.
