It was darkness into light walk through last night, I got some more wall painting done, planted out more wild seeds and purchased a new super duper nut feeder, the morning is a wonderful time in the garden as only sounds are the birdsongs, I have that serious on dvd somewhere, must rewatch it, enjoy a restful gentle day, we need those be times also,

Cloudy skies and trees here in Pennsylvania prevented a siting for me, but had so many others able to see the lights. This has been on my bucket list and figured I would be traveling north to chance seeing them. But this weekend available in my own back yard. Hopefully I can catch them. I tried looking up at the night sky before I retired to bed but alas I didn't see a thing! Think I was probably asleep at two in the morning when it all took off! Thank you so much for sharing your garden and the Northern Lights with us. I actually started to cry when I saw them even though I grew up with them in Northern Canada and had the priveledge of seeing them many times when my boys and I lived in Northern Saskatchewan for two years. The Native American Indians that live in Northern Saskatchewan believe that if you whistle, the northern lights come down closer to the earth...lo and behold when the boys and I tried it..they did indeed seem to dance closer to the earth...an etheral event no matter how many times you see them...and for them to be over Ireland and the British Isles where I was born (S.Wales) is just amazing. Lots of photos of this glorious event on social media today. Glad you enjoyed your series...

The Northern lights were everywhere it seems! How beautiful and a gift from Mother Nature.
Binge-watch indulgence, the marking of time, housekeeping secrets, gutter gardens, night sky = abundance of life. My brother finally cleared the gutters on his barn. He harvested and planted several pine trees. Procrastination sometimes works. 🥰

We had the Southern lights also, tonight in Dunedin New Zealand. Truly magical, the first time I've seen it.

Hello Colette. We were told the sky may be illuminated last evening over New Hampshire, but I will need to wait to see if our local news station filmed it. There was some cloud cover. A beautiful sight for sure, but the reason of its appearance could cause issues with the grid. You and I can live off grid, but so many are dependent for medical reasons and such. These times can certainly be a marvel to behold. I'm glad that you are nestled into your woodland home as we are. We did have a spectacular lightning storm recently that blew up one of our biggest
🌲Hemlocks in the back woodlot. I was alone and heard a " CLICK!" ,
immediately followed by a deafening BOOM! 💥 that shook the house. Mother Nature is mighty!
I do my best composting in gutters by accident 😮

Hi Colette, Sadly, I am also old enough to remember I, Claudius, with Derek Jacobi the first time round as well!! I was 19!!! The Aurora Borealis looks to have been absolutely spectacular and I am not surprised it happened right over your head as Bealtaine is probably the most attuned place on Earth to the Goddess and the beauty that is nature lived in harmony with the Earth. What a wonderful video! Your photos of the Northern Lights are just beautiful! The purple colors are so beautiful. And the fox -- it seems like a terrific compliment to you that he visits your home on his rounds. I want to watch this video again and again. It touched my heart.
It really did feel like a portal. Up overhead the light streaming out of a point in waves of purple white and green. I could not believe how intense it was. I thought I might catch a glimpse sometime in my lifetime but I couldn’t have dreamed that.
Oh I loved I, Claudius, and the actors were so good, it really still stands the test of time

I am a fan of Sir David. My favorite is the Cadfael series. I bought the series and also the I, Claudius series. He is a great actor because he is able to portray any type of character and/or situation. Very rare in today's times.

There are a total of 7 solar storms on the way so you should see the aurora for a few days or more.
I loved I Claudius...saw it across the pond here on PBS back in the 70's. I'll have to rewatch it now. 🌝

Hi Ms. Collet, I have been watching your channel for about 6 years now. You and Tasha Tudor inspired me to move to the countryside from the city and live a simple life with the nature. It's veen 3 years now since we(I and my family) moved to the countryside and that was the best decision we've made. The Northern Lights looked like the gracious shower on to the Bealtaine Cottage. Than you for the wonderful video and books.

I must have ran outside 5 or 6 times camera in hand to see something and all I saw was dark skies. I am in Upstate NY . I bet it was magical, and that fox walks around like he/she has found paradise. The wild amount of solar flare activity is keeping us at night! Especially up in the northern reaches :-) The Lights were spectacular, better than anything I saw in the clear winter Scottish skies and in May, no less! Chichester even had a display. I'll have to check out I Claudius, ta!
I love period dramas and historical dramas too. I leave a few spiders in my house as well for luck and because they keep my house clear. Our skies were overcast..maybe tonight..Working with cosmic energies and earth energies improves my life greatly ❤️ Blessing 🌹

Beautiful sky above your paradise. I didn’t know about the aurora borealis until the second night and there wasn’t much to see then. But my neighbors here in Southwest Ohio had beautiful pictures of it the first night. Similar to yours, I’m so sorry I missed it.
Northern light is amazing. One never tires of watching it. Here in the Arctic we see it between August and April. The rest of the year it is too light this far north (we have midnight sun) We heard it was visible in many places were you normally do not see it. We call it guovsahas in North Sami and it is believed it is the souls of the ancestors, therefore one must, we say, always behave with respect while it is visible in the sky...it could be a bad omen some believed in the old days and people who did not behave as the should while the light was visible could be abducted into it...

I too loved I, Claudius. I watched it as a kid and it sparked a love of Roman history to this day (even took some Latin classes for a time). Also special to me here in the states was that it was filmed with that video quality that was unique to UK fare from the 70's (we did not have that in the US I ever saw) that just hits special nostalgic notes for me.

I found Claudius! And I will be watching! Thank you Collette! And you are not alone, I always let the spiders be, and have never cleaned my gutters! But the Stellars Jays always come and do it for me. If I look out my window and see bits of moss and old leaves being flung from my roof, I know they’re out there having breakfast. To my mind the British have produced some of the very finest actors in the world. I often criticise the BBC but when it comes to drama, they are at the very front of my heroes.

I have to periodically clean out my gutters and it requires a blind reach over my head because my ladder isn't tall enough. I also have 3-4 ft rat snakes living in my yard (welcome) and occasionally they are in the gutter or downspouts. So far neither of us have had heart failure when surprising each other but it definitely gets my heart rate up. Hoping to see the northern lights tonight.
