A few nights ago I had a dream that The CW was reverting back into The WB not just recreating and rerunning it’s debut lineup but also airing a special with the cast of classic WB sitcoms and dramas as well as sneak peeks of new shows coming soon to the channel (and yes Michigan J Frog is there as well). It felt so real that I actually thought The WB was returning soon, but it sadly was nothing more than a dream I woke up from. Still it would’ve been grand if it were true.
Well that's not gonna happen. No one misses that lame network, which was nothing like the studio whose name it carried. UPN was closer to Warner Bros. and was more popular, though not a by-the-book type network like The WB. It was like PTEN, and both (UPN and PTEN) were popular and had star power, while maintaining some experimentalness and a first-run syndication-esque type nature. Yes early UPN came off like a syndication service but was still a popular network. The WB was nothing more than a poor man's CBS (CBS being the lamest most racist network).
As much as miss both The WB and UPN the networks merged and is now known as The CW. Unfortunately UPN didn’t get a farewell due to the fact that many UPN Affiliates took The MyNetworkTV Affiliation in most markets 2 weeks prior to UPN airing their final night of programming on September 15,2006. The WB had a night of Favorites and Farewells which aired September 17,2006 and shortly before the closing credits of Dawson’s Creek The WB had a montage of all the stars and faces of the network as well as a silhouette of Michigan J. Frog. Not many WB Affiliates aired The WB’s final two weeks of programming because in some areas those WB Affiliates took the MyNetworkTV affiliation unless they kept the WB Affiliation secondary or aired it overnight hours.
Ah, the memories... childhood, and even a bit of my teenage years... well, glad to see these things still online/still archived, regardless of the time that passes.
Starting January 11th will be the 20th anniversary of the launch of the WB and beginning of "The Wayans Bros." The very first episode for the network. I've never saw it on WPIX-TV (channel 11) since I was 16 at the time, and that was the first time WPIX-TV was no longer being an independent station along with WWOR-TV (channel 9), they also started UPN. WPIX-TV did pulled the plug on the long-running "8 O'Clock Movie" which has been part of the weeknight staple where they ran such great movies, because many people would watch movies on HBO or any selected movie channel of choices. The "8 O'Clock Movie" pushed back from 5 nights a week to selected nights each week.
There used to be a WB channel in Las Vegas, KVWB (nowadays KHSV) channel 21. The WB Las Vegas, as it was known during The WB's existence, would become MyLVTV/KVMY, a MyNetworkTV channel, beginning in the mid 2000s. These days, MyLVTV is on a subchannel of KVCW, our CW station, and channel 21 switched to a digital network called Heroes and Icons.
I wonder what would happen if Road Dogg started singing his own version of Dubba Dubba for Friday Night Smackdown if it was on at 9:00 on Friday Nights
How you know you woke up early as kid is when you can remember on Saturday mornings there was a short clip of the sunrise over the KSWB(Fox5) playing the Mexican national anthem. lol Saturday morning cartoons. Foxkids.
I'm not a cartoonist, but I certainly write quite a lot! This would be if my Samurai woman warrior comes to life. She'd kill those Wayans a-holes though.

No, actually, you guess the network is a mixture of ViacomCBS (UPN) and introduced in 2006.

Believe me UPN will be revived. I'm gonna make a WB network that is truly Warner Bros. and will diss the shit out of The WB, and out of Tribune.

Although a comedy, Muscle was technically the first serial on the WB, even before Savannah
Doug Paul and John Beach... Holy crap they have been doing voice over for a long time!

VO: This is the home of the WB Television Network.
We need these Stars & Shows back for even number episodes
The Fresh Prince Of Belle Air should have had Episodes & Seasons from 1990 to 1999
The only reason it didn't is because Will didn't want to do it anymore. He wanted to move on to the big screen
But still could done both
@@blakenapier3125 If he could have he would have. The schedule is too hectic which is why most TV stars quit their show once they get a movie career.
